What a great post. I graduate Spring 2012 and couldn't of said it any better. Keep inviting and encouraging fellow students to support athletics! And as Kram always says. WHY NOT.... meh.. I'll let him use his phrase! -

No kidding. No fashion, realignment, or logo thread! How do they survive the off-season? -
Maybe I missed it but do we know how the stripes are removed? I know it is being used as kind of a prove yourself tool but I was just curious as to exactly what got them removed.

I only skimmed through the article and didn't see a reference to UNT but I do know that UNT's Discovery Park (once owned by TI) was a major contributor to this missile site. If you go to the basement of Discovery Park there are huge tunnels and a configuration of elevator bays. Back when these missiles where being manufactured, parts would come in and get sent down into the basement. As the project reached the next phase it was sent down the elevator and moved down the tunnel and up into another part of the building via tunnel and elevators. This allowed them to be manufactured secretly. Upon completion it was sent back down into the tunnels and hauled to the missile site on locust via a long ass tunnel. The long tunnel to locust was cemented after UNT bought the building and you can see where the new cement was poured. I believe there were 36 elevators to do all this secretly. UNT now only uses 3 or 4.

Hey, welcome to the convo screamin eagle. I think we got it straightened out. CBL misread my initial posts and tried to take a shot at me and then went on with some unnecessary math. Thanks for the input though champ. -
I'll get blasted for this and that's fine but we (Republicans) cannot solely blame our debt problem on Democrats. There was some reckless spending going on the past ten years (and many more but the focus is on the past decade). Yes, the Democrats did do some reckless and inefficient "stimulus" spending but TARP was Bush backed and even when Dems had control Bush never used vetoing powers. There was also a heavy amount of earmarking going on in 2005 and 2006 and an unfunded medicare prescription plan that's adding to the debt. Can we blame the housing bubble on Bush? Nah. Started heavily under Clinton but even Bush supported giving everyone the American dream and even pushed for private institutions to buy up mortgage backed securities to make it happen and lowered lending requirments. Republicans had an opportunity to fix the looming house mess but failed to do so. What I don't agree with is Democrats not taking responsibility for what they've done while in office and how that has affected the economy. It seems like Obama always places blame on something else. When he's not blaming it on Bush he blames it on the Arab spring and Japan tsunami.

I think I feel like many of yall. Its almost comical at the point. Once we lose our world's currency status, expect to see our imports skyrocket and pay $8 a gallon for gas. Or, we will then decide to open up North and South Dakota, Alaska, Gulf, etc. and start making dollar bills. Gosh we are screwed. I feel like Jelisa. #usa*******.

IMO Brelan is getting looked over a little too much by some. I know many on the board were very impressed with Carey but I feel Brelan will easily fill this role. He's a gamer and most of all a TEAM player. Its not about him. And not to mention he threw up some absurd weight on squats this year and has a completely different attitude and focus for the game in comparison to Carey. In some ways I see him as an improvement. Fitz jr.? Potentially.

debt deal
Green2012 replied to eulesseagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
A bad one. No side of government is serious about cutting, only accounting gimmicks that trick the citizens. Its all about getting reelected rather than doing what we need. The super congress will consist of career politicians that have no desire to make the changes needed. We'll just carry on down the road and debt will hit 20 trillion by 2020. -

Quote for the Day
Green2012 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
My first post "I'm not going to try and dissect the quote but there are approximately 310 million people in the USA. 153.4 million make up the workforce as of July 8, 2011. This leaves roughly over 156 million non workers. Government is the largest employer. If you want an example of what happens with an inflated government workforce check out Greece." I openly state I'm not going to dissect his quote to bits and pieces and I state that there is 156 million NON workers. Here is my next post. "Like I said, I'm not going to dissect his quote as many people (like you said) are factored into the 156 million number that do not qualify to work. Children, some disabled, retired, etc. for example." I then go on to say "I could be wrong but I think the quote is referring to a growing population that votes for a party to take care of them rather than work. Not all, but some." If you reread my two posts I think you'll see I interpreted the quote differently than you. You interpreted it literally whereas my interpretation was more figurative or metaphorical I guess. Looking at the time differences, I think the confusion started because we were on top of each other at 10:13 AM. If you know what I mean. -

I did accurately "dissect" the quote. You just dissected it further. kudos. -
Well the style was the same but there were two separate helmets. One shiny for games and one dinged up one for practice. I'm hoping Dmac has to repaint the practice helmets mid season from the hitting!
