Came across this podcast interviewing our commissioner. I appreciate that she made herself available to be interviewed as a way of promoting the conference - specifically the bonus play scheduling and conference tournament setup. If you're expecting a commissioner to be energetically selling the conference and its member school teams, prepare to be disappointed. Anyway, here it is:... https://megaphone.link/VMP3052244272

2020 C-USA championship arena setup
jdennis82 replied to NorthTexasSportsNetwork's topic in Mean Green Basketball
All season I've been a bit anxious to see if the unusual sight lines created by playing our tourney in an unconventional bball venue will partly neutralize the advantage we have from deep. Currently Top 10 in EFG% and 3PT%, we may find Zach's work in the post to be key if shots aren't falling. -
THIS The crippling nature of student loan debt can easily prompt a recent grad to have this reaction when on the receiving end of a solicitation call. Each person's situation is different. Of course, I'd rather they not make their frustration public as it can tarnish the perception of our university BUT... I'd say the same about some of the negative posting that goes on around here.

Came across these designs posted on the Sportslogos.net concepts forum by someone who appears to be a high schooler who's considering NT on the Sportslogos.net concepts forum. It's the off-season, after all... Link: https://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/121395-unt-football/ Looks like a pretty solid blend of traditional and progressive.

Feels like a lot of '21 and '22 offers over the last couple weeks. Is this earlier than in previous years? If so, what does this say about any changes to recruiting philosophy?

2010- 2019 GOMEANGREEN All Decade Team
jdennis82 replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm glad someone brought up Chancellor. I felt he really made the 2013 offense go. Playing in the Mason Fine era, I think his numbers would have been notably improved. -
Some ideas I haven't seen yet (forgive me if I missed them being mentioned)... Keith Heckendorf Current Salary: $210,000 AState Bio: https://astateredwolves.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/keith-heckendorf/536 2019 was his first season as the Arkansas State offensive coordinator and QB coach. Before that, he spent 8 seasons in multiple roles with the North Carolina football program, including the last five as quarterbacks coach. He also served as the Tar Heels’ passing coordinator the last three years and as the recruiting coordinator in 2014 and 2015. Pluses: He has crossed paths with Seth at UNC, appears to be a QB coach with skins on the wall, and can recruit. Clay McGuire Current Salary: $175,000 Tx State Bio: https://txstatebobcats.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/clay-mcguire/1198 2019 was his first season as the offensive line coach at Texas State after spending 2018 as the running backs coach at Texas Tech. Before that, he spent six seasons as the offensive line coach at Washington State. Pluses: An OC with an OLine background might help recruiting on that front and I, for one, am open to a new voice addressing that area of consistent need.

FYI...here's the recruiting page when his offer was public in November... Exciting addition, for sure. -

Excited to see what looks to be solid CUSA hires. CUSA is struggling with perception issues and the solution starts with identifying and hiring the next group of breakout coaches. Step two is finding a commissioner who has a vision of how to uniquely promote the conference.

Some QBs to emerge from the Shrine Bowl and land on NFL rosters in recent years: Cooper Rush (2017) Nick Mullins (2017) Easton Stick (2019) Davis Blough (2019) Excited to add Fine's name to this list soon

12 months ago we fans were nervous about losing Littrell. 2019 sucked but I think Littrell's more than earned a chance to evaluate and respond this off-season. I think we've already seen a change in the JUCO offers that have gone out over the last couple months. I'll be anxious to see how he shakes up the staff but I'm also comfortable admitting that I'm too far away from the program's day to day to try to assign direct blame I know less about football, strength & conditioning, and recruiting than anyone currently on staff does.

Vito pointed out that today is Rice's Senior Day... Rare opportunity for our boys to send them away with 4 losses to the Mean Green

Great blast from the past...loved his game. Had to follow up on him and it looks like he's the Assistant AD at Good Shepherd Episcopal School in Dallas. http://blountportfolio.weebly.com/ https://www.gsesdallas.org/about/facultystaff-directory Seems he's doing well. Glad to see.

Excited to see our guys face down what is a very good opponent - especially on their home floor. Under Mike Rhodes, VCU is 17-1 as a home favorite since 2018 (per TeamRankings.com). The lone loss came on 1/17/18 against cross-town rival Richmond. In short, the Rams are due for an upset!

Yes. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10609779/5cc6817815f67311b476c900 Looks like he's from New Zealand and I found a pretty interesting article that includes info on a relationship he has with former Bama DT Jesse Williams ESPN

This is great. Became aware of your site after hearing an ad on Podcast Ain't Played Nobody. Really like the look of your stuff but I, as do most on the board, bleed green and can't ever justify buying gear for another school. Glad to hear I'll soon be able to become a customer. As for logos, The stand alone "diving eagle" (without the "North Texas" text) North Texas Battle Flag Given the vintage approach of your site, here are a couple vintage mascots Eppy Old Scrappy (Ignore the NTSU acronym. You will NOT sell anything with that school reference)

Profile... Size: 6"1" 180lbs Rating: 0.8789 (3 star) Classification: Sophomore Hometown: Dallas High School: Madison Out of HS, he was a 3 star recruit and signed with Mizzou. Never made it to Columbia and ended up at Blinn. He's verbally committed to TCU and holds offers from Houston, Auburn, Illinois, and others. I assume the offer is intended as a fall back should things fall through with the Horned Frogs. https://247sports.com/player/danny-gray-46039844/ http://www.buccaneersports.com/sports/fball/2019-20/bios/gray_danny_e7n4

NMSU will be a good test. They have a really quality program. Last year, they rattled of 19 straight wins to close the regular season/conference tourney and then REALLY pushed Final Four squad Auburn in the first round of the NCAAs. They are projected to win the WAC again this season. A true measuring stick for our crew.

Because Zach Orr represented himself, his family, and UNT so well while wearing green, during his pro career in BAL, and since being forced into injury retirement, I can't help but root for the whole Orr crew and noticed Nick Orr on the list. Big week for the Orr family. In addition to Chris playing for #8 Wisconsin every Saturday... 10/15 - 10/16: XFL draft for Nick 10/17: NT Hall of Fame induction for Zach

Players reacting to the newly finished IPF
jdennis82 replied to MGNation92's topic in Mean Green Football
As disappointed as we ans are about a couple of the losses this year, after a LONG off-season program, draining fall camp, and the strain of balancing school and football this fall, clearly those young men had expectations for the first 5 games that haven't come to fruition. Hopefully the IPF will lift some spirits and the bye week will help to hit the reset button. The goals of winning conference and a bowl game are still in reach.
