if you haven't seen jub jub's ticketstock performance of "party in the usa", here you go. i pretty sure our guys would be ready to play if this were pumped through the stadium speakers as they ran onto the field.

"The coaches told me they were looking for a cover corner they can leave on an island, so that they can blitz and do a lot more things with their defense," Ford said. "That's why I accepted their scholarship. I can fill that role." other threads question the lack of blitzing last season. this seems to suggest that a safer defense was employed because of the youth in the secondary.

North Texas 2010 (Real Outlook And Message To All Nt Posters)
jdennis82 replied to NTFB4LIFE's topic in Mean Green Football
i don't know that being excited for a new hire on the offensive staff communicates a satisfaction for the way the defense performed last year. was the pass rush sufficient? hardly. did our defense force turnovers? rarely. the fact is, though, we have first hand experience watching deloach change these deficiencies at north texas. We have to trust that there will be improvement on that side of the ball. to say that there wasn't improvement from '08 to '09 would be inaccurate so can't we hope for progress in '10? i think the excitement is exactly what you mentioned. a hope that the offense will be more efficient and control the turnovers and the defense will also improve. if both of these things happen, there's reason to be excited. could the defense benefit from TD's ability to now manage both sides of the ball equally rather than being so offensively focused? i think so. -
any indication that this will give us a chance to welcome canales? if not, at least we can thank TD and RV for the move.

if it involves the mean green AND the pourhouse, then it can't be bad

well said and i hope this is what's communicated to the team right now. this team REQUIRES depth and the best way to build that is to make sure those who will end up riding the bench and filling special teams roles spend time in the weight room and practice field with the expectation that they can win a starting spot. maybe in-game experience can factor into a close race but few players have excelled enough to earn off-season security.

there's nothing like stopping by gmg.com to find thoughtful, constructive posts like this one! thanks for taking the time to make your opinion known. i think i just gave you a reputation point by accident. can i have it back? i think i will really like the change once i get used to it. mainly, i just trust that those who spend their time organizing this site know more about website management than i do.

oh, and if i did have the extra cash to donate, wouldn't we all rather see that put towards the new stadium rather than an OC who would be working under a HC who controls the offense?

thank you! smu saw what they wanted and opened their pocketbooks to make it happen. i don't know about you, but i don't have the means to hand the department $100k to prompt the call.

quick question: if riley's not hired, are we going to have people all over here claiming they could've done a better job filling this position than those who make their living based on these decisions? can we agree to trust that the hiring process was thorough?

i don't know if he gets on here anymore but i remember j0nat8an used to have a picture of this as the wallpaper on his computer.

i'm not going to turn this into a complaint and have been told that it's fired off after a loss occasionally because it's an easier way to unload the cannon, but i'm just curious to know if there's any definition to when it goes off. who actually operates that thing? is it a group of students who just enjoy doing it on a whim? i ask because it was fired off between the first and second quarter saturday (we were losing) and then also at halftime (we were losing worse). without more selective timing on boomer's use, what could be a really great tradition instead becomes an annoyance and just creates confusion. please don't interpret this to be a complaint about those who work so hard to bring boomer to life each and every home game. your/their dedication is appreciated.
