  1. now at 18-2, i don't care who they're beating, to get a team of college students to win with this consistency is a credit to JJ, his staff, and the veteran leadership on this squad. very proud of these guys.
  2. read this board long enough and you'll be convinced that we have several hated rivals: smu, UT, The Dallas Morning News, Southlake Carroll High School, The Green Brigade, UNT-Dallas, EA Sports, the city of Denton, local sporting good retailers, rivals.com, Ramon Flanigan, Daddy Dumpsalot... unfortunately, no hatred towards our conference opponents.
  3. +1
  4. my favorite part and what i wanted to hear from him was his passion for filling that stadium and engaging the community. if he can enthusiastically sell this program to the students/alumni/metroplex, we have a winner.
  5. interesting...i was just typing a similar post. well, not to get rid of boomer, but to say that if we're being critical of the timing of some of the cheers, how about the timing of boomer? if there's a formula for when he's used, i sure haven't figured it out.
  6. did the team play to their potential? absolutely not. BUT, the important thing is getting out of that game without another L on the record. if this team wants to win a game in the NCAA tourney, the key will be having 6 losses or less and earning a better seed than #15. squeak them out now, that's fine. especially before thanksgiving break. i trust JJ will coach these guys up as he's always done.
  7. any chance rice fans took Ray during the football game and have plans to reveal this prank tonight?
  8. i agree. that guy's already a look-a-like thread dream!
  9. with the 2011 class we've signed, hopefully this means our games against WKU are on ESPN for the next 5 years.
  10. no matter what, the color commentator was terrible. maybe he was a student as well. sure made me thankful for jub and hank and if the radio delay didn't drive me crazy, i would've muted the game and listened to them instead.
  11. after saturday's W, i had to give the song another listen this morning. did i hear a shout out to Ray in the background toward the end of the song?
  12. looking at our schedule they have: Texas Tech - #9 seed Kansas - #3 seed Sam Houston State - #15 seed
  13. where do you want to start? SMU's 2007 "pony up" TCU's 2010 "make it happen" NEB's 2010 "finish" those are the ones that immediately come to mind
  14. sorry if it's already been posted: My link
  15. to get any higher, it'd take a season with 5 losses or less, right? do our boys have that consistency in them?
  16. sorry rock, but this info's already been posted... http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53295
  17. i've come to expect this, but the website has described these mini plans as being available beginning 11/03. the website still has that message today.
  18. awesome feature! now we have more opportunity to analyze where people live to determine if they're giving what they should to the program.
  19. what? no questions about ray's whereabouts? that's a question we all need an answer for
  20. bump
  21. i take his quote to be in response to this: The good news is UNT athletic director Rick Villarreal said he won't let the new standards impact how many games the Mean Green plays at home. If UNT has to pay to bring more Division I teams in it will. playing a full home slate is what JJ means is "needed" for season ticket packages.
  22. RV, it's such an honor to read your post
  23. that's a cheap way to discount a valid perception. i'm sure those on the tcu board aren't satisfied with their attendance.
  24. i guess i'll come clean and admit that i'm taking a half day off work for the tech game but don't feel i can justify doing so for the other weekday games.
  25. i've recently noticed that they'll be offering some sort of mini plan package for the basketball season. does anyone have any early insight about these? i know that i have a hard time buying season tickets when i'll never be able to make it to denton for a weekday game (outside of tech) but this may be something that really interests me. i'm guessing they'll throw in games that i wouldn't be able to attend, but i'm excited that they're offering a little more flexibility.
