I wonder if the green helmet/uni combo is why our passing game has struggled. QBs can't see our receivers down the field?

Happy Birthdays to Dwayne from Minden, MGShep and Eppy4life

Happy belated! -
Curious to know what the thoughts of the board are concerning TM's long-term Mean Green legacy. It's possible he has a notable NBA career yet his time here has been utter disappointment (in my view). I contend that he would not be worthy of NT HOF consideration as it currently stands, but have a feeling there would be plenty of revisionist history if he establishes himself in the NBA. Thoughts?

Rice Game vs, UNT on Halloween - National TV!

Get the Greeks involved in some sort of a Halloween carnival for kids on "The Hill"? -
I'd be curious to know what the site stats reveal about the level of interest in the football/basketball programs. Have there been noticeable trends? Obviously, big events likely show large spikes in site activity but I wonder how pronounced is the decline in volume on the hoops board this season? Of course, this info would primarily measure the temperature of fans who are the most invested (financially, emotionally, and otherwise) but is likely an indicator of the casual/fringe fan as well.

With the current voting open for the All-Century team, I have to wonder, is there a single player on the roster now who will one day earn consideration as an all-time player?

The one benefit I've found of our miserable season is that I don't feel compelled to annoy my coworkers with Tony Mitchell talk the way every Aggie did Johnny Manziel talk these last few months

And Western Michigan makes Brown & Gold more appealing than Green & White... http://www.wmubroncos.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=24299&SPID=1922&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=206117479&DB_OEM_ID=4600 -
This. I've never understood why we don't use the multi-green look. Both a light and dark shade offsetting each other to emphasize the ONE unique aspect of our program.

I meant the "what if" regarding his coming here out of high school. His career and NT's poor QB play may've been altogether different.

The Javia Hall "what if" is something I still cant' escape.

UNT posts impressive performance academically in football

A great accomplishment by the players and staff. I would think the dramatic improvement in this area will pay dividends in the living rooms of many parents while on the recruiting trail.- 27 replies

TM's shown this season that he doesn't have the leadership makeup to raise the level of those around him as is required of a franchise player effectively dropping him out of the lottery. May be for the best if he can carve out a Kawhi Leonard role for an established team.

Vito gets his info and opinions from gmg.com The only difference is he can contact the Ath Dept to confirm the rumors and connect the dots conveniently drawn for him here.

Moderators, please move to "The Eagles Nest" forum... I don't see how anything short of an 80-team bracket will impact "Mean Green Football" Thanks in advance.

So, same opinion if it were Dunbar instead?

Count me as one who wishes this was less frustrating to him than sitting at home in December.

'Sealed the Deal' UNT Mean Green Recruiting Video
jdennis82 replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
SMU's "recruiting video" out in Hawaii on Christmas Eve was better. -
Evidently, I didn't get a life for christmas because I still find myself wasting time on this board with all the gmg dweebs.

The impression I got from TM on Thursday was that he was more disappointed when he'd miss a free throw, block, or reboound because of the scouts than the fact that the team was getting blown out. Zero leadership out of him.
-
Not too comprehensive, but I took a look at the ESPN.com play-by-play of Thursday's game to come up with some numbers based on how our field goal attempts were identified... Field Goals made = 27 Dunks: 5/5 = 100% Layups: 13/18 = 72% Jumpers (Combined 2 & 3 point attempts): 9/48 = 19% Keep in mind, these numbers don't factor in items that may've been made/missed while being fouled so make of this what you will.

Prediction for the Lehigh vs UNT game
jdennis82 replied to Dr. Seuss's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I predict that this game will show the character of this team and its star player. Mid-major programs that succeed do so because they take the strong work ethic and commitment level demonstrated by their headline-grabbing player. We have the perfect example visiting Denton today and opened the season against another great case study. A coach's voice is only heard as far as the best player's ear. -
Based on thread title, seems like you're taking good notes from emmitt01
