FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Dunk City has pulled off another surprise. A decade or so removed from making the Sweet 16 of the 2013 NCAA Tournament as a No. 15 seed, Florida Gulf Coast made a splash again Saturday night -- this time taking down a Florida Atlantic team that made the Final Four last season and was ranked No. 7 in the country this week. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39213680/florida-gulf-coast-eagles-stun-no-7-florida-atlantic-owls

Something needs to change going forward. Several games this Bowl season were not authentic. As a fanbase or attendee of these games it's false advertising. The reward of a Bowl season has been lost. Many players now are only out for themselves and not their programs. $$ are killing it.
-
Edwards is clutch at free throws. He is our Perry at the line this season. When the plan is to draw fouls and get to the line then Edwards needs to be in the game!
-
Allen needs to start until Sissoko finds his offensive game again.

Kirby Smart laments FSU opt-outs after Georgia's Orange Bowl rout "People need to see what happened tonight, and they need to fix this," Smart said, lamenting the flood of opt-outs and portal entries on teams playing in non-playoff bowl games. "It needs to be fixed. It's very unfortunate that they have a good football team and a good football program, and they're in the position they're in.".... For his part, Smart said the impact of the opt-outs was notable, and even with an expanded playoff coming next year, the bowls outside the playoff risk becoming glorified scrimmages." https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39212869/kirby-smart-laments-fsu-opt-outs-georgia-orange-bowl-rout

Glad you were at least competitive with (but lost) to a 6-6 opponent. You're still a total embarrassment to the conference, lol.
-
Florida State loses 63-3 to Georgia tonight. Georgia had nearly 700 yards of offense. That says a lot about FSU's team, as it was not nearly the same team that played during the first half of the season. They lost key players due to injury and others skipping the Bowl for other reasons (NIL, Portal, NFL).
-
Yes. Maybe a little angst in the middle was good for us heading into our first conference game. Total blowouts aren't good practice.
-
Maybe he should have taken that K-State job after all....then we'd all be happy now!
-
It's not a good trend from this team we have seen in other games...losing leads. Hodge needs to stop being the friendly coach and start chewing on some guys.
-
We're playing sloppy again with a large lead. No sense of ball security or quality possessions.
-
Sissoko has more time in the program, and maybe Coach thinks he owes him, but Allen should be starting.
-
It was a reference to Sissoko's offensive struggles. As for the NAIA opponent we should be this easily ahead.
-
So it's a normal game.

Not to reignite the "Replace The Pit" argument, but...

A parking garage would be a good idea, for both the Pit and school, but they are very expensive to build compared to flat surface parking. The Super Pit has lots of life left in it. The main issue I've heard is that the Athletic Dept doesn't control use or scheduling of it. -
It was totally just a slap at $mut... for trying to impersonate a P5-ready program. Obviously their $cam has now been seen and realized by all!

Not really a fan of a barn-style arena. Looks 1950-ish, and with very steep steps to climb in the corners and upper sections. Will students be able to walk from campus over or under I-35 to that location? Many will complain about the location and walk across the freeway! Where have we heard that before? -
LSU-Shreveport (9-1) currently ranks #19 in NAIA after an OT loss to #20 Langston (11-1) in their last game. https://masseyratings.com/cb/naia/ratings https://lsusathletics.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/schedule MeanGreenSports.com article about the game: "This will be just the second all-time meeting between North Texas and LSU Shreveport (9-1). The Mean Green beat the Pilots 73-35 back in 2021. Aaron Scott recorded his first career double-double in the previous matchup with 10 points and 13 rebounds." https://meangreensports.com/news/2023/12/29/mens-basketball-mean-green-conclude-non-conference-slate-saturday

Green Wave wearing black jerseys for bowl game
NT80 replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
UNLV was wearing light color uniforms so it was a dark/light uniform-game contrast. My only issue with our look overall was the green in the helmet logo was a different shade (almost teal) from the green in the uniform... -

I wasn't questioning your memory. I think it was a good look too. Just wanted to show what their combo looked like. -
Love it when the OUs of the world get knocked down!

The announcers gave a NORTH TEXAS shoutout in reviewing his past coaching resume'.
