  1. Memphis leads the series 17-7... https://gotigersgo.com/sports/mbball/opponent-history/north-texas/147
  2. This is a really great win against a quality opponent considering we are short-handed with injuries. This (-10) is the second worst lose for Memphis all season. Villanova beat them by 16. They are 4-0 over ranked teams, and have wins this season over Missouri, Michigan, Arkansas, Texas A$M, Clemson, Virginia, and Vanderbilt. Memphis has a tough conference schedule remaining: $mut, Charlotte, UAB, and FAU (twice).
  3. Line: UNT -1.5 Over/Under: 134.5 Attendance: 5,689
  4. Memphis fans not taking the loss well (as expected). Most want the coach gone for their team's performance, not really much about us. 18 pages as of now on their fan forum... https://csnbbs.com/thread-986584.html
  5. They have huge egos and past conference history with $mut. It was only a 3-point win in Memphis a month ago. We are the new annoying kid on the block to them and have not played them yet. It will help us that they are distracted.
  6. This is a trap game for Memphis. They will be looking past us and ahead to playing at $mut on Sunday on ESPN.
  7. Bill Blakeley came to NT after coaching the ABA Dallas Chaparrals. Similar to the NBA today, all offense, no defense was played.
  8. Fabulous memories at the Fabulous Super Pit...DePaul, Texas, Texas Tech, LSU, CBI final, my small son rolling down the hill outside the Pit 35 years ago, hope to bring my grandson to do the same. I wish they had more former player interviews in the video from earlier eras. Will never forget Bill Blakeley on the sideline, Ken Lyons jumpers, Tony Mitchell crashing the boards, etc...
  9. The players have voted for Black seatbacks with Green-trim cupholders...
  10. "This change....will reduce capacity of these sections." If you take the tour of Boston's Fenway Park you will learn that baseball stadium was built in 1912. The wooden grandstand seats, with metal armrests, are very narrow and were based on the average adult width back in 1912 (112 years ago for those counting along). New modern seats are wider, and accompanying code changes would result in the loss of 4000 seats.
  11. This basically eliminates the former PAC12 from consideration. Is this format good for the AAC? "The College Football Playoff board of managers is expected to vote Feb. 20 on a model that would include the five highest-ranked conference champions and the next seven highest-ranked teams in the 12-team playoff this fall -- a format change that could finally get the unanimous backing it needs if the Pac-12 agrees to it." https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39520319/college-football-playoff-board-managers-expected-vote-5-plus-7-format
  12. The only thing we can count on is $mut fans acting like $mut fans.
  13. Always better!
  14. $mut is still irrelevant to Dallas, no matter how much fake news space the DMN gives them!
  15. Didn't say you implied anything, was just expounding and agreeing that Stone is mainly in the game for his defense, but is also an offensive liability.
  16. Stone does great on defense but has no confidence on offense so he usually declines to shoot, even if open. Our opponents know this, so they flex off guarding him and focus on guarding our real shooters which hurts us even more.
  17. Developing and playing more of the roster early in the season would totally help this. Being out of gas or not having enough players to finish should never be a reason to lose in basketball when you can carry 15.
  18. Allen! Allen = 16 points, Sissoko = 2
  19. Disagree. The losses were by 12, 3, 3, 5, and 3 pts. Three of the losses were on the road. We led several of the games for majority of the game. Bad endings mostly.
  20. ? There was a section behind one of the backboards labeled "Caniac Student Section", but it was empty. ?
  21. A player like Chris Morgan, 6-8 240. Big body, probably great kid and teammate. 3rd year on the team and hasn't seen the floor. We need more Robert Allen types for next season. If Morgan is a starter next year shouldn't he be worthy of some time this season?
  22. In related NIL news today... Judge keeps NCAA's restrictions on NIL in place for now "A judge on Tuesday kept in place for now the NCAA's rules prohibiting name, image and likeness compensation from being used as a recruiting inducement, denying a request for a temporary restraining order by the states of Tennessee and Virginia. The attorneys general of those states filed a federal antitrust lawsuit in the Eastern District of Tennessee last week that challenged the NCAA's NIL rules, after it was revealed the University of Tennessee was under investigation by the association for potential infractions." ... https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39472872/judge-keeps-ncaa-restrictions-nil-place-now
  23. I'm not talking 12-15 guys "significantly contributing" every game. I'm talking about being ready and able to contribute something to the cause (in case of injuries). We have guys that I've never seen in a real game, or maybe 5 minutes for the whole season. I don't claim to know all the coaching strategies(?) like some posters on this board. But, again, why carry players you never intend to play except in practice scrimmages? If your team has injuries, like a team I know, then your non-players will be forced to play anyway. Shouldn't you want guys #9-15 that can contribute in some way in a real game more than as just a cheerleader on the bench?
  24. This is the problem. The student?/athlete will say he is hostage at NT and being denied the right to earn a big payday. He will sue to get early release from his commitment....and we're back to where we are now. Doesn't sound much like college football anymore.
