  1. I'll never be happy with this season. 54-2 in front of 23,000+ home fans and 54-7 are beyond trying to rationalize. We are not that young in key positions like RB, K, PR, WR, OL, LB, and DB to get beat like we are. Something is amiss in the organization and not being addressed correctly.
  2. Tulsa is 3-3, killed by Minn., hung with an average OU team, lost to an average Houston team, won over down USM and in OT over a down Memphis team this year. Nothing special that we should have lost by 52 points at home to.
  3. Vanderbilt was not ranked; this is the highest points they received during week 5. 2005 weekly rankings Missouri finished 2004 with a record of 5-6 ranked #66, nine spots below North Texas.
  4. The SunBelt has served it's purpose to give homeless 1-As and upward 1-AAs a home, even providing a pre-set Bowl for the champ, but it is mostly false glory compared to the total 1-A landscape. OOC games are the REAL barometer of where our program is, and right now it is pitiful (7-40). We should never get beat 54-2 to a Tulsa...at Home no less! And this week we are ranked #147 in college football. We are ONLY a 1 point favorite to beat FIU, a new program. How low have we sunk?
  5. I would guess that none of those teams you mention were in the Top 25 at the time of their SunBelt defeat and that the entire record of those teams at their loss was well below .500. I will also guess that we've played 5x that number of those same middle-of-the-road teams and lost. The SunBelt is still a young football conference compared to others but I don't see the progress in the programs that should be there by now.

  7. I agree; youth is no excuse for poor play.
  8. There are deserving winners, then there is Leach.
  9. Any chance DD goes Pro????
  10. Wreck Tech!!

  12. That makes no sense considering he had a long run to score our only TD at the end of the game. Why would a QB get chewed out for making something on a busted play? Just stupid.
  13. Why is it the defense always wears down, why doesn't the opposing offense wear down that is on the field that same 75% of the game?
  14. Coaching did play a part, as did some individual players. But if you look at our success within and out of the SBC you get a different perspective of that "success". If SBC Championships are the only goal then we've achieved all we strived for. But I believe the players, coaches, fans, and school have higher goals to achieve...and we are not near there yet.
  15. Thanks for posting links to your nice pics. If NT can't win the Belt then Troy would be a good replacement (for this year only, so don't get used to it!).
  16. It could just be that the SunBelt is a REALLY lousy conference, considering we've only beaten a poor Cincy team in the New Orleans Bowl after those 4 championships. Humm...come to think about it, what good OOC teams have we beat under DD?? How many maginal ones have we lost to in that same time?
  17. I believe two are provisional and the NCAA is only ranking 117 units; but whatever the number is...we are dead last...time to change something!
  18. Well, something seems to be going on in higher administration. I think the wrong ones are leaving.
  19. Hayden Fry would never allow inexperience to be an excuse for poor play or to become predictable. He wouldn't settle for a young team not being able to compete, he would adjust the plays or try something different. NEVER settle for losing!!
  20. So, we have the #117 ranked offense just because our senior QB graduated? I don't buy into just that excuse; QB is a mess right now, but so is discipline and leadership and players not making plays, and coaches not making adjustments, etc!
  21. Well, we are not rotating QBs now and we are #117 in offense. Why not try the other guy for a game or two? We can not end up any worse.
  22. bump....maybe we win this replay?
  23. light? fast-moving train in opposite direction?
  24. Agree. I would have liked to have seen Phillips get a few series just to compare how far along he is. QB and OL seem to need the most attention at this point.
