  1. Great job. Stomp out SMUt!
  2. I don't think a win over LSU, Kansas State, Tulsa at home, or even La Tech would upset anyone. A win over ULL just doesn't mean as much as it used to (as if it ever did).
  3. That has to be the worst ranking of a complete conference in the history of college football, at any level.
  4. The Mean Green's 15-game unbeaten streak comes to an end Courtesy: University of North Texas Release: 10/30/2005 MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (10/30/05) – The North Texas women’s soccer team had their 15-game unbeaten streak come to an end as Middle Tennessee defeated the Mean Green 3-0 in the regular season finale for both teams. The loss is the first for North Texas (13-3-2, 8-1) since August 27 and only the third of the season. North Texas had already clinched the regular season Sun Belt Conference Championship and the top seed in the upcoming tournament heading into the game. The two teams battled to a scoreless tie in the first half as the Blue Raiders out-shot the Mean Green 9-2 in the first half. Middle Tennessee was able to break through three minutes into the second half as Holly Grogan beat Kandice Ellis on a one-on-one breakaway. Rachel Holmes extended the Blue Raider lead in the 72nd minute of play to 2-0 on another breakaway. The Blue Raiders closed out the scoring with 13 seconds remaining in the game as Rebecca Rodriguez notched her 12th goal of the season. Ellis made eight saves on the day for North Texas as Middle Tennessee out-shot the Mean Green 16-6 for the game. North Texas will be the top seed in the Sun Belt Conference tournament which begins on Wednesday, Nov. 2 in Mobile, Ala. The Mean Green are going after their second straight conference tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance.
  5. I bet they were amazed.
  6. I would gladly take all wins in OOC and no conference wins. It is false reality to win a SBC Championship and not beat anyone outside conference and think we are among the 1-A elite. Our goals have to be higher.
  7. Now 7-42 overall.
  8. Saw this today.... eBay Retro 80's 1-AA logo sweat shirt
  9. NT vs. WKU soccer results
  10. You could insert Texas, OU, or any number of past teams into that same line he uses (even La Tech ). Same ole, same ole,...hope we get into the fourth quarter, blah........ Very inspirational...NOT!
  11. Very nice. That NT should be one of our official logos.
  12. UNT License Plate info page
  13. That is beyond pathetic.
  14. I can see it now, the SBC has no 6-win team. UCF vs. Nevada in the ULL Bowl. Attendance = 4,000. We lose (or loose if you prefer) our Bowl certification next year because of poor attendance average.
  15. NEVER accept BAD football. If fans don't demand a better product, we'll be stuck with Tulsa and La Tech fans laughing at us! (edited for content reference meaning)
  16. Never thought I'd be jealous of UTEP.
  17. I always liked that interlocked "NT" but wasn't crazy about the "Eagle thru the hula-hoop" as some called it. That NT was used for several years on school rings and would look good by itself on a helmet. Anyone have $50,000 to change the helmet logo?
  18. Excellent post. We have become stagnant. Time for us to re-invent the wheel or get a new wheelmaker. BTW, for wanting to be a run-first team, or establish the run with two NCAA rushing champions, we opened against La Tech with like 8 out of 10 plays being passes. Perhaps it was trying to loosen the defense, or not having confidence in the OL to run block, but it seemed strange, and didn't work either. Next?
  19. I was at the game but didn't see why he came out. Phillips had warmed up a few different times before he went in. I thought it was because they needed to throw deep and Phillips has the stronger arm. Meager had a shoulder injury in the spring and to me still appears to underthrow deep balls. I did see him rubbing his shoulder after one long throw late but I don't know if it was because of the throw or the hit he took.
  20. 7-41 trumps 4/4. Time for a change.
  21. I really hope this NT baseball stadium deal gets going and built (Moot alluded that it "should", but not confirmed or on a firm start schedule yet). That would help with another conference looking at us, plus give us another spring team sport to watch. As far as La Tech's AC in their endzone, it appeared to be an older building and sat back rather high and far from the actual field. It held the football locker rooms but didn't have an observation deck or nice viewing windows like ours. Their stadium was comparable to a bowled-out and lowered Fouts without the track but still dated, natural grass, no frills or video screen. The grass sloped endzone berms were nice and 30,000 metal sideline seats were better angled and far better than Fout's lego endzone seating. I'd rate it a C+ at our level and Fouts a D. I'd trade but prefer newer with concrete and finished exterior. As for the WAC, their football is a step or two above the Sunbelt overall, less the Sunbelt additions. La Tech is spending their WAC inheirited NCAA playoff credits trying to pay for their travel while they await a move to what they hope will be CUSA. They're betting they get a bid before they go bankrupt. Would we like home games with Fresno, Boise, and Hawaii? Sure (maybe not this season!). Ruston is a smallish town (22,000?) but supports Tech 100x what Denton does for NT. La Tech flags on the streets and yard signs all over and shoe-polished store windows (when did you ever see that in Denton?). North Texas has a huge advantage of the Metroplex and International airport nearby, a more modern campus, and a growing new area of athetic facilities. La Tech appears more 1-A-ish right now but we are catching up and would pass them with a new football and baseball facility.
  22. Well, that narrows it down!
  23. Disagree. La Tech may not have been so foolish in not re-joining the sinking SBC instead of the WAC. Our AC is nice, but Tech's football and baseball stadiums are better than ours (oh right, we don't have a baseball stadium). NT's campus has more potential, but we all know where potential will take you (?)...
