  1. Does that mean she will fire DD or we have to wait for RV to do it?
  2. The wheels are about to feel off again. This Buick is a wreck and needs traded ASAP!
  3. Thank you Darrell. Do us all a favor...resign!
  4. Sure, a name head coach would command $$. But would an up and coming assistant turn down $200K to coach a 1-A team and build his name up? (1-A for the sake of hiring purposes). And couldn't any new coach do as good a job as what we have now? "I've seen the enemy, and it is our current system!"
  5. The real games are now over for this season, except for La Tech. I'm sorry I paid $9.95 to watch that mess. My son and wife laughed at me that I wanted to watch a NT game on streaming video, or that I wanted to watch a NT game period... Back to DD's FantasyLand....the SBC....Let the pretend 1-A teams and games begin!
  6. From the Akron play-by-play voice.... "Thankfully they are inept".
  7. Just watch the spin begin on this game story on the official site soon. And now the consolation SBC season will begin and Dickey may win a game or two and be restored to greatness here once again....until it all happens over again next season when the real games in OOC come around.
  8. The last OOC road win was October 28, 2000. No more chances this year. When will it end? 8-41.
  9. 8-41. How much longer?
  10. Actually Maryland is winning 14-10. Still a good effort by FIU.
  11. Ah, positives in this? Akron had second string players in the second half and was trying to run clock off. If they had any kicking game it would have been 55-13.
  12. Where is the premium login at? It was on the Athletic site but I don't see it now.
  13. New Akron football stadium plan We need to get our new stadium plans dusted off and back in action....
  14. Fine, keep him on the payroll until the contract ends, but does it have to be as head football coach? Why can't he be "reassigned to other duties" within the Athletic Department like Matt Simon was? Make him head of alumni relations or stadium greeter or something else.
  15. I actually remember driving from Denton back towards Dallas after a NT basketball game and thought about going to the 2nd half of this game until I heard the lopsided score then turned it off and went on home. Oh well. Maybe some of you have heard about this game before....current score 41-17....DMN video clip of the final 2:53 of the game...killer ending.... 1994 Plano East vs. Tyler John Tyler
  16. 8 - 40 READ THAT !
  17. Zips - 42 Dickey - 3 Time for a coaching change to keep any program respect and renew interest with former fans.
  18. Dickey is either too stubborn to change his offense to fit his personnel or doesn't know how to. The smashmouth run game is not working with these players and last year's either. Actually, the only teams it ever worked against was new, fairly young head coaches of SBC teams. That's the reason for all the OOC losses; those coaches know how to defense a base run offense. But now the SBC teams can defense it too, thus last year's conference record. Either change and keep the offense fresh and adjust to your personnel or die being stubborn. 1-3 says stubborn.
  19. Novel idea to remove ineffective coaches during the season. I like it!
  20. I'm sure UNT Athletics Marketing will get right on that. What? No Marketing?
  21. September 13, 2006 Dolphins sign RB Cobbs to the practice squad The Dolphins added rookie running back Patrick Cobbs to the practice squad on Wednesday. "It seemed like the best opportunity," Cobbs told The Boston Globe. "The hope is that I'll spend some time on the practice squad and then have a chance to be activated to the roster." Cobbs, 23, had an impressive exhibition season as he led the New England Patriots with 188 yards on 38 carries (4.9 average) and three touchdowns. The Patriots decided to keep four veterans and first-round pick Laurence Maroney, so Cobbs was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a seventh-round pick. It appears RB Carey Davis was cut to make room for Cobbs. Send him...I'll take him anyday! Carolina babyyyyy!!!!!!!!
  22. September 20, 2006 Follow the bouncing ball -- NBA's Dallas Mavericks to hold pre-season training camp at UNT Oct. 3-6 DENTON (UNT), Texas Fresh off their win as NBA Western Conference Champions and their first-ever appearance in the NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks will hold their training camp for the 2006-2007 season Oct. 3-6 (Tuesday-Friday) at the University of North Texas. Morning practice sessions will be held at the Norval F. Pohl Student Recreation Center, located on North Texas Boulevard between Chestnut Street and Avenue D. Evening practice sessions will be held at the UNT Coliseum, at the southeast of North Texas Boulevard and Highland Street. Practice sessions are not open to the public. To thank the university community for their hospitality, the Mavericks are holding a scrimmage at the UNT Coliseum at 5:00 pm on Oct. 6 (Friday). The scrimmage will be open to UNT students, faculty, and staff with a valid university ID. The scrimmage was moved up an hour so as not to conflict with the pre-Homecoming bonfire, scheduled for later that evening. UNT head men's basketball coach Johnny Jones says, "We're excited about the opportunity to host the Mavericks on our UNT campus. It will be a great experience for our students to see the 2006 NBA Western Conference champions as they prepare for their upcoming season. We hope the energy and enthusiasm will carry over into the Mean Green basketball season." UNT President Gretchen Bataille adds, "We are thrilled to play a major role in bringing Dallas Mavericks basketball to the UNT community and to Denton. We relish the opportunity to share our excitement with the Dallas Mavericks as they begin their quest for the NBA title. It's such a tremendous opportunity to showcase all that UNT has to offer."
