  1. If he's been recruited as a backup at other programs and we gave him the old "you can help us rebuild and start right away..." speech then he might be sold.
  2. Texas with a freshman quarterback? But we've all been told you can't expect to win with youth.
  3. The recent 54-2, 54-7, 40-14, and 56-3 losses from this past season make more of an impact on a high school kid (and parents) about us than a player's name from 40 years ago.
  4. Because it's college football related, as much as threads about the SMU AD, WAC, or Michael Vick are; and there are at least 10 other threads on the same subject/game. It is offseason, there's nothing else to talk about UNT-football related until we see an official recruit list or someone gets fired or quits. humm...
  5. First, 1-A conferences base decisions first on football. They are moving toward all-sports only members, starting with them playing 1-A football. I can't see the WAC dropping a 1-A football-playing member (Idaho) to pickup a non-football playing member (Denver). I'd prefer a CUSA spot, otherwise I've always liked the possibility of an east/west division WAC/SBC. Something more like: West: Nevada Fresno St. Boise Hawaii Idaho SanJose Utah St. East: NMSU North Texas La Tech Louisiana Ark. St. ULM MTSU, Troy, TX St. or MO St. Opps, forgot Nevada...that would make a 14-team league more likely.
  6. The Texas / USC game is being replayed on ESPN Classic today at 6pm. Personally, I think I'll watch Lucy reruns instead.
  7. Sounds like Knight and Co. should do a better job of scouting a player longer before offering ships. This isn't the first player they tried to run off after signing. Wreck Tech!!
  8. I've heard many SMU fans wish he'd go. Maybe Southern Mustang can give us some odds on his leaving. I'd also heard he was one of the roadblocks to renew the UNT/SMU football series.
  9. I doubt it; outside Texas we won't play anyone probably in the Top 60.
  10. I believe I heard he works for the turf company NT hired to replace the Fouts turf?
  11. I doubt even a 12-0 UNT would qualify for a BCS Bowl given our poor strength-of-schedule within the SBC. The BCS still favors BCS schools and always will. A playoff is the only way to determine a true champion.
  12. At least we managed to change all the Whorn-Orange seats out of the SuperPit before this Longhorn-Lovefest erupted.
  13. "Necessary Roughness" tonight @ 7-9pm on WGN. See FFR as the 'Dillo mascot and of course don't miss Kathy Ireland.
  14. There were some bad non-reviews that the announcers pointed out and some reviews that were called wrong even after the review. If the review can't get the plays right what's the point of using it?
  15. So what's the point spread for NT/UT in the September season opener? And now we have to sit thru all the NC hoopla before the game. I hate burnt orange!
  16. Denver (8-6) had 7,000+ in their game Monday vs Wyoming. This was an annual marketing attempt to sell out a specific game but what was unusual about it was the fact it was: 1.) on a weeknight, 2.) coming off a 5-game losing streak, 3.) over Christmas break, and 4.) at a commuter-school program that only averaged 1500 per game last year and usually only supports hockey. ...................................................... 1/2/06 Pioneers Defeat Wyoming, 69-64, In Front of Record-Breaking Crowd Senior center Yemi Nicholson (Aurora, Colo.) tallied 22 points on 10-of-18 (.556) shooting and tallied 15 rebounds and four blocks as the University of Denver defeated Wyoming, 69-64 in front of a record-breaking crowd of 7,186 in Magness Arena, making the fourth annual PACK THE HOUSE game the first basketball sellout in Magness Arena history.
  17. I believe he was the Tulsa DC, and the kid would have to qualify for Rice academics, not an easy place to recruit to.
  18. Yes, technically we're only 3-4 against D1 teams and the committee will look at that.
  19. Totally agree. We can do better than the current ways.
  20. Cream Puffs? Do you consider Tulsa and La Tech major powers we should lose to by 40 points, like we did? How about SMUt...if we stay within 30 is that OK? Get a grip, we are losing ground to these mid-road programs. BTW, the 7-38 includes losses to many new programs and average ones as well.
  21. Nancy LeMay is the Branding-Czar that causes many of these problems in getting products out to the stores. She likes to blame the process...she is the process.
  22. The biggest Gameday Improvement they can make is the score of OOC games at Fouts. The constant OOC losses are killing our credibility as a 1-A program. A 7-38 OOC record deserves someone else give it a try.
  23. That's OK, I didn't know Michigan was in a Bowl, or care, and didn't watch it!
  24. Quit because they didn't like the coach, or mad at the school because he resigned?
