  1. No way Jose! He opted for the Big Time and Bright Lights, send him to the Big House! I've heard no remorse from him or admittance of anything. He needs to spend some time at a lower level and do some soul-searching. Not here.
  2. Denton is the most non-supportive 1-A college football town in America.
  3. I could live with it being done in 2012, if that was the actual date. It's the no date, no timeline, no information that kills momentum for a project like this. I know it's all based on $ and we don't have enough yet, but no updates sure won't produce any. I know MGC members that had no idea a new stadium was even in the planning stages or that the new AC has a football locker room under it and will be in the south endzone of that new stadium, some year. If MGC members know nothing about it, the average alum or Denton public sure knows nothing about it. And thus won't give anything toward it's completion.
  4. WW has the arm strength of the other two, but he is not as accurate as Phillips in my opinion. Most WRs are not tackled by linebackers but by smallish DBs, and not head on like a QB usually is hit. WW needs to take it to the sidelines when he is confronted as a QB; he'll learn that one way or the other.
  5. WW has some speed and athletic talent. But if he keeps the ball and turns up field like he did in the spring (too much) then he will be hurt by Mr. Linebacker very early in the season. His arm is no better than the other two but he does have an element of quickness they don't. I see WR in his future.
  6. That will be the same for NT this season.
  7. USAToday Coaches' poll
  8. I was very impressed with Phillips in the spring.
  9. That's the first athletic comment I've seen attributed to the new Prez... When and what else did she say?
  10. o-fer-out of conference again this year is unacceptable. It was unacceptable last year; and every year it has happened.
  11. We haven't done anything in OOC games lately to prove otherwise.
  12. Yes, if you can't beat a team because they have better athletes then you have to out-guess their strategy, or change yours. Fry's team had many different looks. DD has had to slowly admit we're not a run-only team and open it up some. His staff used to make good halftime adjustments until that USM game and last season. USM was very athletic but we gave them some by not using the shotgun enough for the QB and trying too many gut runs. You saw the result.
  13. I know those reasons, although there's probably as many Schooner fans in DFW as Tulsa. He was just saying they wouldn't play in a small venue because OU could make $5 mil at a home game. The $ is true, but they will still play at a small venue sometimes like a Tulsa, as well as TCU for those that don't think they make double DFW trips.
  14. I see from the uT site that the single-game tickets for NT are $50. I see no info about them on the NT athletic site, but they probably know (maybe?).... North Texas Athletic Ticket Office Phone: (940) 565-2527 / (800) 868-2366 E-Mail: ticketoffice@unt.edu
  15. So why do they go play at 35,000 seat Tulsa then? I know we can't get OU to Fouts, but with a newer (modern) facility we could lure some BCS types. SMUt does. Flex rates? You mean variable ticket prices? Many schools do for different games. Note the different prices for the uT games this season: 2006 Ticket Prices Season Tickets: $365 09/02 vs. North Texas (Austin): $50 09/09 vs. Ohio State (Austin): $85 09/16 vs. Rice (Houston): $72/$52 09/23 vs. Iowa State (Austin): $55 09/30 vs. Sam Houston State (Austin): $45 10/07 vs. Oklahoma (Dallas): $85 10/14 vs. Baylor (Austin): $55 10/21 vs. Nebraska (Lincoln, Neb.): $65 10/28 vs. Texas Tech (Lubbock): $85 11/04 vs. Oklahoma State (Austin): $55 11/11 vs. Kansas State (Manhattan, Kan.): $70 11/24 vs. Texas A&M (Austin): $85
  16. No, you charge $80 a ticket (BCS prices) instead of the regular $15 for the OU home game. Most programs charge according to opponent's desirability. $15 x 30,000 = $450,000 $80 x 30,000 = $2,400,000 Give OU a $1 Million to come to Fouts and we still make $1.4 Mil.
  17. "...in conjunction with the Dec. 22 I-AA championship, which will become the "Division I football championship." Shouldn't that now become the Subdivision I football playoff championship? Make up their minds!
  18. That is a failure of coaching to make during-game adjustments and take advantage of what a defense is giving you. You know teams will defense us for run first, it's obvious (to some anyway) that you need a counter for a stacked line. Doh!
  19. "Following his four-year stint at NAU, Kragthorpe became the offensive coordinator at North Texas in 1994, spending two years with the Mean Green. At North Texas, he coordinated an offense that led the conference in total offense. While there, he coached quarterback Mitch Maher who broke single-season school records for passing yards and total offense." Before Dickey was hired I believe Kragthorpe was asked if he would apply for the opening. He was at A&M then as an assistant and declined. Thus, ..oh, never mind, you know the rest....
  20. humm..... 1965 Skelly Stadium was enlarged to 40,235 seats. The track was removed, the field lowered and box seats added. The excavated dirt was used to support the new south end zone stands. Seating was added to the west stands plus a new two story press box, escalator and elevator.
  21. Skelly Stadium's official capacity now is only 35,000. It had been 40K until they tore down the north endzone seats for an athletic center in Feb. 2005. Top crowds listed before then were 40-47K. Skelly Stadium bio and photo
  22. humm....well, at least it's not 65-0, but it's not 27-24 either.
  23. Sounds like he was being pressured out and he jumped at a good opportunity, although at 1/4 the salary.
  24. OU opens 2007 vs. North Texas
  25. 2006-07 Nebraska men's basketball schedule exhibition vs. Belhaven on Dec. 28? exhibition vs. Cameron again on Nov. 10
