You would have to ask RF about that; it was his recruiting area (Dallas) that he somehow managed to turn off. I guess being a great SMU player didn't help open many doors in Dallas?

For the last two years, I have had the privilege of having breakfast with coach Todd Dodge every Tuesday. Coach Dodge has character and is the type of person who practices what he preaches. He is great at what he does, which is teaching young men how to become grown men - he just happens to be a football coach. Winning is fun, and Coach Dodge really knows how to laugh at himself. Discipline and repetition are also keys to TD's offense. It was mentioned in an article that at one practice they had to run a certain play perfectly 10 times before practice was ended.

From another thread I posted about the SLC no- huddle: I saw SLC play Plano last year in the playoffs. The thing that frustrated me most, as a Plano fan, was not the spread offense, but the no-huddle they ran. They lined up in their offensive sets, then 2-3 times change for a single play, pausing in between to look at their position coaches on the sidelines for the adjustment calls after the defense gets reset. Then they pass or run depending on what the defense shows and gives them. Very difficult to defend the no-huddle when a defense can't substitute players because sometimes they would quick count and snap it. That's what was unbeatable to me.

Was Dodge an assistant in the all-star game last year? I didn't realize he was part of the staff at that game. Perhaps that will make it easier for him to not get to do it this year although it would have been as head coach. I still think NT will get some media from it and him being gone.

Agree. It's like Nebraska's Big Red. They are still the Cornhuskers and have the "N" on the helmets and secondary logo is a goofy farmer but Big Red fits with all that. Same for Mean Green and "NT" and Eagle logo...it all fits together.
