UNT's ranking is more a reflection of where it was left by DD than where it is going with TD.
-
I just talked to the Green Grenade tonight on the phone. He says "Hi to all, GMG & TD!". He recently changed computers and has been having software issues but hopes to be back posting very soon. He also said to "just say NO to black jerseys!" or "DD and black jerseys" or something like that. Also a big kiss from him goes out to Plumm and SUMG! (just kidding...about the kiss).

No, from OU official site: 2007 Oklahoma Schedule North Texas (Sept. 1) Miami (Sept. 8) Utah State (Sept. 15) at Tulsa (Sept. 22) at Colorado (Sept. 29) Texas at Dallas (Oct. 6) Missouri (Oct. 13) at Iowa State (Oct. 20) Oklahoma State (Oct. 27) Texas A&M (Nov. 3) Baylor (Nov. 10) at Texas Tech (Nov. 17) It should be interesting to compare OU scores.....

That is the key to a Todd Dodge system. He will find player's a position, then work them until they know it in their sleep. SLC did not have the biggest or fastest players, but they had the most efficient players on the field when they played!

I agree vertical is more impressive, but it is also more expensive. The original thoughts about the new stadium on the golf course property was to use the natural slope of the land. The idea was to use exisiting earth as a natural foundation for the east stands as much as possible to reduce the cost of concrete pilings and the expense of that. That's also why entry to the stadium would be thru ground level and they were trying to design the suite/pressbox level there too to keep from needing extensive support structures. Unfortunately cost trumps looks when on a fixed budget. I still hope seats are as close to the field as possible in the new facility, something they never thought about in that track stadium we now have.

La tech is going to be our main competition for the next CUSA opening. We don't care about them, but we should care what they are building so we can stay ahead of them.

I agree double-decked endzone seats like the UNT model are a huge waste, but a smaller section close to the field would be useful for connecting the two sides, horseshoe effect. The UConn and Stanford decked stadiums are unique in that the upper and lower decks are on basically the same slope down to the field (one section can see the other section). The seperation between them can also be used for suites, as I think it will be in Stanford's model.

I'd prefer this KSU, deck-add-on model. Open ended like we need for our A/C..... https://www.ksu.edu/photo/newwebsite/footba...rge/Stadium.htm

If we have to have an upper deck, I want it to look like this, one continuous level with a break for suites, etc...... http://z.about.com/d/hartford/1/0/W/4/rentschler2.jpg Otherwise, we should start with a larger horseshoe design, and add a deck later as needed.... http://www.bba-arch.com/images/ksustadiumexpansion_05.jpg

Can we get Utah State back on our schedule ASAP?

S of W = Son of Worm. The old NTSU, Hayden Fry days Eagle logo was affectionately known by some as the "Flying Worm". Some now reference the new full Eagle logo as "Son of Worm" since it looks a little similar. Flying Worm: http://cgi.ebay.com/vintage-70s-NORTH-TEXA...bayphotohosting

Did he mention how they would be changing?

What other programs have Underarmour uniforms?

Don't forget, Todd Dodge will also be in attendance at the Mean Green Football Banquet that Saturday night, Jan. 27. RSVPs close Jan. 21.......

I would prefer 40,000 seats as a goal (just sounds better). However, if done right, a smaller facility can still host some large programs: From the Southern Miss site: "The all-time home attendance mark was set for the second-consecutive season in 2003, as a record 36,152 fans were in attendance for the Thursday night, nationally-televised contest against then No. 11-ranked Nebraska on Sept. 25, 2003. That mark surpassed the total 35,169 fans set against Jackson State in August of 2002. With a seating capacity of 33,000, Roberts Stadium has housed games against some of the biggest programs in collegiate football, including California, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Florida State and Auburn." (also Illinois)

They don't sound real happy about the hire.

Did MM approve of this?

Nevada is still too small-time for the PAC10. UNLV gets most of that state's attention. But, if BYU is out of the expansion possibility for them then I suggest they would go after Utah and Colorado. They could follow the Big10(11) format and not split into divisions but play rotating teams each year.

Agree, fewer endzone seats the better. Something like this: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...6lr%3D%26sa%3DG

Later, Sooner: Peterson picks NFL 07:24 PM CST on Monday, January 15, 2007 By BRIAN DAVIS / The Dallas Morning News Adrian Peterson made it official Monday. The junior will skip his final year at Oklahoma and declare for the NFL draft, bringing an end to a spectacular college career in which he became one of the best running backs in school history. Peterson, who ranks third in OU history with 4,045 rushing yards, announced his decision in a statement released by the school. Monday was the deadline for underclassmen to declare. "In the end, I think I just realized that this is a business decision and that it is time for me to take that next step," Peterson said in the statement. "It wasn't easy. I haven't been sleeping much. I just put it all in God's hands." Peterson is expected to be a first-round pick this spring, most likely going in the top 10. Still, Peterson said the relationships he's built with teammates made the decision difficult. He will also leave OU without winning a national championship or the Heisman Trophy – two goals he set after being tabbed the nation's No. 1 recruit in early 2004. The Palestine, Texas, native finished second in the Heisman voting as a freshman.

Agree, no eagle head only, looks too much like Philadelphia Eagles. Black is Ok as accent color, mainly we should see Green.
-
They would never be this envious if we had hired a no-name OC like some wanted.

Agree. 40 feet higher for a guy in a suite is nothing, but 40 feet higher to a season ticket holder is a big deal. Keep the REAL fans together.
