  1. I couldn't find anything about it either. How are these camps advertised? It must have been out well enough in advance for that many kids to show up. Are these Junior Days just general invites to all junior athletes and notices sent out to high schools or are there personal invites given for these?
  2. The "official" releases by both the SBC and UNT are suspect. UNT and ASU both released "official" schedules on the same day with different dates for the game (Nov. 15 and Nov. 17), go figure. I hope we have 6 home games, we need them.
  3. Vito is not on the UNT-insiders info list. Ever read a quote from RV in one of his articles? BTW, here are some other Dodge/UNT camps: https://www.nmnathletics.com/SportSelect.db...;DB_OEM_ID=1800
  4. OU, seeing that it is UNT across the way, will stack 8 in the box.
  5. Sorry, just wanted to see if a football thread would be moved off the basketball board. BTW, I hope he opens with a Statue of Liberty, Boise-style!
  6. NO, not UNC again. I'm tired of playing those guys in the Tourney!
  7. Fry's teams were good at the same time back then. NT fans had some fun times during the mid-late 70's.
  8. Misunderstanding, miscommunication, whatever; we need to get the DRC and UNT on the same wave length some time. It would have been nice to have it on TV.
  9. I've had ticket office or donations issues for the past several seasons now. They eventually straighten everything out but it's like pulling teeth each year trying to get simple instructions communicated. I've decided to hand-carry my renewals into the office now, and take names! This needs to be fixed ASAP. The larger the fan base grows, the more efficient the ticket office and donation process needs to become. It's a bad first impression on the program the way it has been recently. We don't need to be turning away any new ticket buyers or donation givers because of poor policies or their incorrect implementation.
  10. I seem to recall Vic Trilli making some CUSA predictions to recruits, but that's another story. I agree that the 2009 stadium date has been mentioned by too many recently for it not to have some validity or backing. With the land at Eagle Point pretty much in a "ready to build" state I believe a stadium could be done in ~15 months. Shooting for an August 2009 completion date would mean roughly turning dirt no later than say May 2008. Could this really happen that quick?
  11. Wouldn't you be concerned if you were one of these 25 supporters and the OSU AD offered to let Eddie Sutton drive you home?
  12. "Overall" it is a lower tier 1-A schedule ONLY because of the SBC portion. OU, Ark, SMUt, and Navy games are fine. It's the SBC games, and quasi 1-AA WKU game that we need to upgrade. Never be satisfied with being in the SBC. We must continue the push for CUSA membership. To say otherwise is like being happy in the Southland forever.
  13. Only if you want to stay in the lower tier of 1-A.
  14. I think FFR means where could the regular Denton resident read about this meeting or see it advertised? Was it in the Denton paper or local cable network? I doubt 1% of Denton residents even knows UNT has an Athletic website, much less read it regularly for meeting invites. Did anyone go to this luncheon that can provide a summary of Dodge's speech??
  15. I'm liking her more all the time. The Daily is clueless sometimes; puts her down for trying to promote the University and reconnect out of state alums (donor$) to the school again.
  16. I'd like it better if we got rid of the SBC games.
  17. SMUt is starting practice today and the DMN said their practices will also be closed to the public, except for their spring game March 31. Like SMUt has any talent to hide anyway?
  18. Many losers and winners in this new Cowboys Stadium deal. Losers: City of Dallas Dallas City Council City of Dallas taxpayers Fair Park Oak Cliff Cotton Bowl Downtown Dallas NE suburb Cowboys fans Arlington traffic on gamedays City of Irving Los Colinas Winners: City of Arlington Arlington taxpayers Arlington and GPM airports Fort Worth and mid-cities fans Ranger's ballpark businesses
  19. SOMEONE with inside knowledge is spreading 2009 stadium rumors....
  20. Right now, I'm for taking all the players we can get and letting Dodge sort them out based on his judgement. Let the position competitions begin!
  21. Sounds mostly like a rant from ECU fans just wanting a Big East bid. No way they go independent in 1-A football.
  22. Simple answer: NO
  23. I know about the bio, but I also saw last fall's scrimmages. Maybe he was injured during camp, but his kicking distance seemed very short.
  24. Players can't redshirt in high school, so why not put them on the field for some experience. It's different in college, you don't subject your potential future QB to such things. Maybe in a practice he could run some routes if that is thought to be a benefit, but you don't burn eligibilty just to experiment in real games.
