  1. Vito actually had quotes from RV in this article. I am now duly impressed, I knew you could do it. Good job, keep it up!
  2. Yes, very sad situation back then. Info about him in the spring 2001 North Texan on-line version. Some other interesting events/articles are in there too: http://www.unt.edu/northtexan/archives/p01/untnews.htm
  3. uT won by 5, Tech lost by 20+ , TA$MCC won by 20, and Nevada lost.
  4. A play-in game implies that you don't belong, that you have to prove your worth in an extra (side show) game. To be a 16th seed says we are worthy, even if only a lower seed, but one of only 64 in the Tourney! No play-in!
  5. Free videos on the official site. Very nice if you haven't seen them: http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...p;ATCLID=815765
  6. If we HAVE to have wording on the helmets, why not put Mean Green on them for a change, and North Texas back on the jerseys? Of course, a logo would be BETTER on the helmets!! Anyone still have the link to the white helmets with the new logo that were done earlier this year? I can't believe we're even thinking about white helmets; save us.
  7. Yes, I was going to post that also about SC, plus the school gets paid to wear them, are we?: NOTES, QUOTES —Auburn, Maryland and Texas Tech have all been pleased with their relationship with Under Armour. Now South Carolina has agreed to a multi-year apparel deal to outfit the Gamecocks. While coach Steve Spurrier would not reveal the exact numbers involved, he did say the amount would "flabbergast" fans compared to the school's deal with Russell for $300,000. "I think our fans are really going to like the uniform. We're going to add a little pizzazz to our uniform," Spurrier said. "We're still going to have the same colors, but it's going to be a little bit sharper (and) flashier." As far as white helmets and North Texas again on them I am not crazy about either of those decisions. I'll reserve judgement until I see them but I was really hoping to drop the school name thing from the helmets and add the new logo this year. Even SLC has a logo on the helmet!
  8. ULL is an AWAY game and the official site looks like it has now been changed to show that.
  9. Hank mentioned on the radio that there would be a watching-party on selection Sunday somewhere on campus with the team. Watch for details.
  10. Emmitt got several seconds of air time on ESPN2 during the game.
  11. From google: http://www.nationalchamps.net/2005/sub/pic...bazaldua_sm.jpg **well, link doesn't work, but there is a pic of him kicking if you google his name**
  12. blah....tastes like chicken, bad chicken. JJ forgive me for doubting.
  13. NT will probably be a 15 or 16 seed facing a 1 or 2 seed. Who do you want to see us play out of the Top 8? 1 Ohio State 2 Kansas 3 Wisconsin 4 UCLA 5 Memphis 6 Florida 7 Texas A&M 8 North Carolina I'd prefer either A$M for some in-state action, or historical programs UCLA or Kansas.
  14. Sounds like it might be a good time for a Basketball PodCast? Maybe a recap to the season so far, talk about additions/losses of players for next year, and the upcoming trip to the DANCE!!
  15. I couldn't find anything about it either. How are these camps advertised? It must have been out well enough in advance for that many kids to show up. Are these Junior Days just general invites to all junior athletes and notices sent out to high schools or are there personal invites given for these?
  16. The "official" releases by both the SBC and UNT are suspect. UNT and ASU both released "official" schedules on the same day with different dates for the game (Nov. 15 and Nov. 17), go figure. I hope we have 6 home games, we need them.
  17. Vito is not on the UNT-insiders info list. Ever read a quote from RV in one of his articles? BTW, here are some other Dodge/UNT camps: https://www.nmnathletics.com/SportSelect.db...;DB_OEM_ID=1800
  18. OU, seeing that it is UNT across the way, will stack 8 in the box.
  19. Sorry, just wanted to see if a football thread would be moved off the basketball board. BTW, I hope he opens with a Statue of Liberty, Boise-style!
  20. NO, not UNC again. I'm tired of playing those guys in the Tourney!
  21. Fry's teams were good at the same time back then. NT fans had some fun times during the mid-late 70's.
  22. Misunderstanding, miscommunication, whatever; we need to get the DRC and UNT on the same wave length some time. It would have been nice to have it on TV.
  23. I've had ticket office or donations issues for the past several seasons now. They eventually straighten everything out but it's like pulling teeth each year trying to get simple instructions communicated. I've decided to hand-carry my renewals into the office now, and take names! This needs to be fixed ASAP. The larger the fan base grows, the more efficient the ticket office and donation process needs to become. It's a bad first impression on the program the way it has been recently. We don't need to be turning away any new ticket buyers or donation givers because of poor policies or their incorrect implementation.
  24. I seem to recall Vic Trilli making some CUSA predictions to recruits, but that's another story. I agree that the 2009 stadium date has been mentioned by too many recently for it not to have some validity or backing. With the land at Eagle Point pretty much in a "ready to build" state I believe a stadium could be done in ~15 months. Shooting for an August 2009 completion date would mean roughly turning dirt no later than say May 2008. Could this really happen that quick?
