  1. It was against Eastern Michigan and the game was in Mobile. Lol
  2. Just for comparison to show how overall lame our OOC schedule is, here is the Memphis OOC schedule... Memphis OOC schedule for hoops: Memphis update #3: 11/4: Missouri 11/9: at UNLV 11/21: San Francisco (Chase Center) 11/25: UCONN (Maui) 11/26: Colorado/Michigan State (Maui) 11/27: TBA (Maui) 12/4: Louisiana Tech 12/8: Arkansas State 12/14: at Clemson 12/18: at Virginia 12/21: Mississippi State 12/28: Ole Miss

  4. I have always been a fan of whomever is playing again$t The Evil Empire!
  5. Go Nevada, beat $mut!
  6. I always think coaches should be cheerleaders for their own program. Encouraging more fans = more home field advantage = potential more wins. Grant McCasland knew this. Seth would probably have preferred a tooth extraction over talking to media or in front of a group of fans. Morris can give good interviews, I've seen them. But if he wants to go stealth to fans about fall practice that is his choice. However we reserve the right to question anything that goes wrong and wasn't put out for our approval!
  7. I think we scored one since Bama won 2-1. But otherwise yes, very sloppy looking on the parts I watched. Again Bama was spread out and passing between positions. We looked more like randomly kicking it away from our end, not actually to anyone on our team.
  8. Coaches need to build fans up just like they do players when they are down. You don't have to give us the playbook but some generic video or talk up some of the progress...anything!
  9. Some guys shy away from wanting to be leaders or vocal to teammates. Not sure that was the case here but the article about Chandler Morris mentioned how he, being a new guy, didn't want to assume a leadership role but guys pushed him into it, especially being the QB. He said they were very accepting of him from the start.
  10. I also wanted a more experienced FBS HC too, but it seems all we can get/afford are re-tread FBS coaches that got fired somewhere else. It's either try a young up and coming stud HS coach like Parker or Dodge, a young OC like Morris, Seth, Dickey, Nelson, etc or a former FBS HC like Bob Tyler, McCarney, Fry. Pick your poison. The DC Morris hired got a 2-year deal as I believe like most coordinators get at FBS programs. Position coaches are typically on one-year contracts.
  11. Can't sell tickets if they don't advertise the product!
  12. That must imply we have better options.
  13. Morris didn't get much of a roster from Seth. No workable QB and many players bailed with the coaching change.
  14. He won as a HC in FCS and took them into the FCS playoffs twice.

  16. The new rules are designed to encourage returns and actually penalizes the kicking team for not allowing a return. By staging the defenders and blockers closer to the action, and they can't move until the ball is caught, is meant to reduce major collisions at high speed.
  17. He wanted someone we could afford, had HC experience, P5 experience, and Texas connections. Morris checked all the boxes. The DC hire and scheme has been questionable. The 5-7 record included 7 one-score games, an indication we were competitive in most games. Like most, I expect a better showing this year record-wise after an acclimation year.
  18. We got a "Do you believe in the Mean Green" during the TD by the announcers. They also mentioned his Pick-6's in UNT wins against $mut and Arkansas. Good publicity.
  19. Agree with this. I am encouraged by the coaching staff knowing the team needed to get bigger overall and focus on tackling on defense....plus find a veteran, good QB. They seem to have checked the boxes so far. Let's just see how it all jells. And then repeat for next season all over again. That's what I hate about NIL and portal, no building up players in your system. Many are one and done.
  20. Yes, that's the wording. An article I saw referenced the CFP committee having to decide between non-ranked conference champs, which again brings in human bias. To me all FBS Conference champs should have automatic access to any FBS playoff. Otherwise, why label it as an FBS Championship? Increase the playoff to 18 teams if need be, but all other Divisions value a conference championship.
  21. G5's are only guaranteed one spot. I believe the wording is the "highest ranked G5" in the Top 25. NT could win the AAC and be 11-1 but not ranked. But if Boise is 10-2 in the MWC and ranked #25 they would get the spot. If no G5 is ranked in the Top 25 then the CFP committee chooses which G5 has the better resume.
  22. They have S. Alabama at 62. I hope a win in week one moves us closer to that side of 100.
  23. I like the AAC's addition of Army, to go with Navy. Now if we can just get Air Force too.... The MVC (Missouri Valley Conference) was a very good conference for NT in the 60's to mid 70's before the bigger football schools left. At one time in the early 70's the conference had North Texas, Louisville, Memphis, Cincinnati, Tulsa, NMSU, Wichita St., etc. It's a very historic conference. Other former members include OU, OSU, Houston, Iowa, Iowa St., Kansas, K-State, Missouri, and Nebraska.
  24. Very good article. Gives fans good insight into the offensive team's chemistry so far. I think that's always a concern with a lot of new players all at once mixing with returning players as far as roles and leadership.
