That's some of the debate coaches will have: Does a Conference Championship game continue for some leagues? Does it make you better or worse in the eyes of other humans (CFP committee). $mut's coach said yesterday they should be judged before they play the game, not after....lol. Also, is Clemson (10-3) as ACC champ better than Army (11-1) AAC champ? ACC Champ is not an automatic qualifier if another Champ is deemed better.

Yes, we beat $mut, A$M and host Virginia to win it...twice! Those are some of the horse-ist schools in the country. Many are saying Bama gets in with a $mut loss, especially a bad loss. It's like loses at the first of the season are not as important as losses at the end of the season.
-
The game is beyond their consideration time. If you mean, would it weigh if Army were to lose to Navy, well, basically no, all invites are given by then. It could be said a solid win over Navy would ensure Army (12-1) should have been in the CFP over Miami. The $mut coach before the Clemson game was preaching that $mut should be in regardless if they lose or not. He said they could have backed out of the Conference Championship game at 11-1 ranked #8 and assured of a spot. He was trying to say an extra game shouldn't determine if they are worthy or not since some believe Bama should replace them...but doesn't have to play the additional difficult game.

The CFP has to take the Top 5 conference champs (none have to be P4). Would Army (11-1) be considered better than Clemson and Miami?

AAC Football Championship (Friday, 12/6/2024)
NT80 replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Football
Chaos! The more chaos the better. -
This would be OK. A Friday at 3:00pm at $mut, on ESPN. It would be a semi-home game, after the holidays, more practice time, not a name opponent but winnable which is all we need right now.

Lol...Mods. They don't care about the trolls, the nerds and turds on here, their content, or the constant ad streaming on this site. I'm glad we have a fan board, but even @Harry rarely posts anymore.

Gundy took a pay cut a few years ago, but then they restored it plus a continual 5-year contract. He makes $7 mil a year to go 0-fer in the Big 12 this season. Stupid.

AAC Football Championship (Friday, 12/6/2024)
NT80 replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Football
So, what would have happened if Army didn't play and get crushed by Notre Dame and went 12-0 instead? Say they beat a mid-P4 instead of Notre Dame to go 12-0 and were ranked ahead of Big12 Iowa St and Az St. Would the CFP have really not let a Big12 team into the CFP? $mut's coach was already advocating they deserved in the CFP (even if "when" they lose tonight to Clemson). Most say Bama will get in instead. It's the case of playing a conference championship game, and losing ranking to a team that does not play in a championship game. Lol. -
They have two 7-footers and several International players. Their best player is from France. Game notes from HPU Athletics... https://highpointpanthers.com/documents/2024/12/5/MBB_Game_Notes_24-25_Season_-_North_texas.pdf

No Texas fans punished for throwing bottles in Georgia game
NT80 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
It has to do with scoreboard title space for team names. I've seen N TEX, N TEXAS, NOR TEXAS, NO TEXAS, NO TEX, MEAN GR, and.... MEAN GRN..... -
Seriously? They have these things called parents and advisors to hold their hands, lol. At 18 they are adults, can vote, and go to war. They want real world $$, then they need to be real world savy.

It's coming anyway. Players at some schools already have court approval to unionize. Plus players are already under school medical insurance and care for game injuries and scholarships cover room and board. The only thing left is compensation continues if game injured.
-
I hope many more players get denied payments! It's past time to end this farce called NIL. Instead there needs to be signed, negotiated labor contracts between schools and players. Similar to the NFL. You can't break your contract and play somewhere else (for any reason), unless a negotiated release or traded for compensation from the receiving school.

You and 60,000 Clemson fans there. Everyone else will be watching Oregon vs Penn St at the same time...

The latest CFP version was supposed to be the fix for the "what about Florida State (13-0)?" left out of last year's playoff over Bama? Iowa State is already challenging $mut's status over themselves. There will always be controversy about left out teams being better than auto-qualifiers.

LOL. Ok ACC, AAC, ADA, NCAA ...

Too much eggnog already? In reading today's ESPN headlines I saw the title "North Texas fans punished for UGA bottle throws..." and I'm thinking what did our fans do to be punished in a Georgia game?? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/42795909/no-texas-fans-caught-punished-throwing-bottles-field Top Headlines Sources: Severino, A's reach 3-year, $67M deal Source: UCLA firing OC Bieniemy after one season Udoka fined $50K for profane tirade toward ref Georgia eyes RB Etienne return in SEC title game Pacquiao elected to International Boxing HOF No Texas fans punished for UGA bottle throws Draw reveals Madrid, Boca, City, Miami CWC spots Bedard an Olympic option despite 4 Nations snub CFB signing day takeaways, questions

Exactly the point. What is a "power conference" without any power? It's a fake name for fake power. Until the CFP admits ALL conference champions (power or not) it will be a bogus playoff. $mut lost to BYU, their toughest opponent, not even in the Big12 championship. Louisville was #22, but now has 4 losses, thus they weren't really #22. $mut never played the Top teams in the AAC.

Let's see how Clemson goes before you start talking Top 10 and buying CFP tickets. Your schedule so far is a little lame to be in the CFP.

AI Overview Can college coaches or schools offer NIL? No, college coaches or schools themselves cannot directly "offer" NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) money to athletes; the NCAA rules prevent them from paying players directly, meaning they cannot use NIL as a recruitment tool by offering cash incentives to potential recruits. Key points about NIL and college coaches/schools: No direct payment: Schools cannot provide athletes with money as compensation for their athletic abilities. Facilitation allowed: However, schools and coaches can now facilitate NIL deals by connecting athletes with potential sponsors or businesses that want to utilize their name, image, and likeness. State laws vary: Regulations around NIL can differ by state, so specific rules regarding coach involvement might vary.
