  1. Agree. I'm not staying up for a 9:30pm Tulane game kickoff @ Fresno.
  2. Agree with the need for relegation out of the top. Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Rutgers, $mut, etc are not Top Shelf football powers. I'll say 50 schools max in the Super Conferences.
  3. You obviously haven't been to both airports Coach.
  4. It was really poor to plan for a sellout after a trip to Lubbock. It should have been done vs SFA, as they also brought more fans than Wyoming will.
  5. Wyoming will have the worst QB and Offense we have seen this season (as stated by their own fans). I expect a larger point spread. Wyoming has only scored 34 total points all season.
  6. AAC could backfill with Air Force and Texas State. Not worried about it. What will be interesting will be the PAC-X media deal. PAC-12 was going to be heavy streaming and light on ESPN.
  7. AAC could just add Air Force and Texas State. Memphis is Probation U. anyway. Let them go...
  8. Football at any level is always about the QB play.
  9. I would say uT in Austin is their local competition.
  10. Air Force got beat bad by Baylor, Colo St beat bad by Colorado, and UTSA crushed by Texas. They are all still being talked about for expansions.
  11. They would have to replace their football coach first.
  12. Huge difference in 3-1 and 2-2 heading into conference play.
  13. Players are caught out of position. This defense is built on player-reaction to what they see develop in each play. The obvious solution to an offense against it is to fake and fake and fake again as Tech did all game. Our secondary was caught flat-footed not knowing if the play was an actual run or a fake = burned.
  14. Yes, the 3-3-5 was badly exposed by Tech over and over. Players out of position and biting on QB ball fakes that allowed receivers to run past them and become wide open. It's past time to shelve this defense and try another defensive scheme (and coordinator).
  15. College Athletics is not all about wins and losses. It's also about who you associate with in a Conference. It's why $mut paid their way into the ACC. Vanderbilt is hardy a football power (having just lost to Georgia State) but they do have an SEC logo on their field. If leaving the AAC for the PAC makes financial sense and puts us with Boise instead of Charlotte then I'm in.
  16. Without even looking at the Purdue fan forum I guarantee there are threads about wanting the HC and/or the Coordinators fired. It’s a natural fan reaction to a big loss. But maybe it’s some of the players that need “unemployed”? Who is making repeated mistakes and not performing at the expected level… some players, some coaches, combination?
  17. All good reasons. If I am the AAC Commish I am looking how to keep Texas schools. I would like to start by inviting Air Force and any other MWC programs that would bump up the AAC right now. UNLV? But the problem with that is the AAC can't help them with exit fees like the PAC2 can their teams. It will come down to who has the better sales pitch for the Texas schools, including Texas State.
  18. Why don't we see how the season finishes out? We were all saying the same things after the Cal loss last year. Nobody is getting fired after week 3.....maybe at Florida, but not at UNT. lol
  19. The New PAC is trying to poach the best of both the MWC and AAC to become the Top G5 conference. That could bring more negotiating pull with media and perhaps a landing spot for P4's that get purged out of the future Super Conference breakaway.
  20. They wouldn't offer just UNT only. My guess is they will make a play for a small AAC grouping = 4 schools (like Memphis, Tulane, UTSA and UNT). Connect the 4 with Colorado State, get Texas markets and recruiting, plus AAC power schools. Wound both the MWC and AAC to seek the top G5 Conference spot.
  21. Oregon State had their own embarrassing loss today....losing 49-14 against in-state rival Oregon, who barely beat Idaho to start their season.
  22. It's not good enough by either to be seen as Playoff Contenders or National Brands. AF would have been my pick over Colo St, like you said, they have a National following already. Likewise UNLV instead of Fresno. Huge growing sports town in Las Vegas, more potential to become a National brand. Here is the latest on the Pac-6 future additions timeline from the Oreg. St AD.... https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/41260659/pac-12-look-add-new-schools-quickly
  23. I'm not comparing us to Purdue, because Purdue lost Big at Home! lol Notre Dame got beat last week by Northern Illinois. This week they took out their frustrations on Purdue. TTech got beat bad last week at Washington State. This week they took out their frustrations on us. Next week we take out our frustrations on Wyoming....
  24. Sorry @El Paso Eagle , this subject directly relates to the AAC's future and thus UNT's Football future. This is the correct board for this topic! "Asked whether the conference had seen any teams express interest in joining in the 48 hours after the realignment announcement, Barnes stated simply: "Bunches." Barnes spoke before the rivalry game between Oregon State and former conference foe Oregon, which jumped to the Big Ten this season. He said the league could potentially add more than just the two schools needed to reach the NCAA and CFP thresholds." https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/41260659/pac-12-look-add-new-schools-quickly
  25. Why? It directly relates to the AAC's future and thus UNT's Football future.
