Things I've Never Seen In A College Game Before
UNT 90 Grad replied to SUMG's topic in Mean Green Football
The back up kicker was in to attemptthe onside kick. When that failed, they went ahead and left him in to kick it out of bounds. -
Distant Tv/internet Viewing Options?
UNT 90 Grad replied to Censored by Laurie's topic in Mean Green Football
If anyone would like their heart broke again, the UNT / ULALA game is available for replay on ESPN360. -
The ULALA game was my first game to watch at the Pourhouse. I'd been there once before to watch the Todd Dodge Show. Here are my thoughts: 1. Great place to watch a game. I sat in the media room. I didn't give the lounge chairs a try, but they looked comfortable. I sat in one of the high backed booths. The A/V quality was a bit of a let down after they had the OU game in HD playing prior to the UNT game, but that obviously isn't the fault of the Pourhouse. I was really sick of all the ESPN commercials when all was said and done. I guess that's a Game Plan thing. At half time when heading to the men's room, it was good to see so much green in the dining room as well along with the UNT game on the larger screens. 2. The fans there were a lot of fun. I enjoyed having a room full of folks to cheer with. Much better than watching the game at home with the kids distracting me and the wife beating me down with questions about why I'm so passionate about a team that hasn't done well in so long. The room was a little inconsistant with the "First Down" cheer. I felt bad for the guy shouting "And that's good for another Mean Green..." when the room would leave him out to dry. I enjoyed singing the fight song with the room each time we scored a TD. 3. The service was slow in the beginning, but I may have not followed the right procedure when seating myself. There was no one at the hostess stand and the last time I was there, they told me to sit where ever I wanted in the media room. However, this time I noticed folks being served, but the staff continued to walk right past my table. I finally asked a passing waitress for a menu, but then no one ever came back by for about 20 minutes. I then flagged someone down and was told that no one was there yet for my table. I guess that the server never showed up because one of the earlier staff members came by and said they would be waiting on my table after all. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. 4. Food and drink were great! The prices were a little high, but seemed to match the quality of what you got. I enjoyed the Blue Moon on tap. The fried jalapenos were great! The burger was good too. I tried the nachos the last time I was there and they were awesome too. Overall, I had a great time and hope to catch more away games there in the future. I just wish it didn't take me 45 minutes to get there from my house.

I did that last year through my 720p projector on my 120" screen. It wasn't that bad. The audio through the headphone jack works really well through the sound system. You get used to it pretty quick. Oh, and I'll be at the Pourhouse with a friend. My understanding was that it IS on Game Plan, but what do I know.

Blue Lot South Side. I'll be grilling up my own rendition of the Chili's Montery Chicken (grilled chicken topped with bacon, BBQ sauce, melted mixed cheese, tomotoes, and chives). Cold beer in green cans...maybe Rolling Rock...except that has a blue horse on it. I'll be there around 2pm. GMG!!!

These were plays that caught my attention, for whatever that's worth. Enjoy, make fun, whatever... zvTP-l_IqrE

Someone always has to do it...

I assume you are talking about Mean Green Premium. I did this before so that I could catch the Spring game. You can get it and then cancel it, only paying for one month.

My son's game got cancelled, freeing me up for extended tailgating. I'll be there around 2:30pm. Wish I was there right now! GMG!

Finally got it on YouTube... uYC7jRiBfkg

I LOVE the podcasts and this one was no exception. I have a question. In the podcast you state that Coach Dodge was chewing Riley out over taking that hit. I thought the same thing when I watched the game. However, in two different interviews (Mean Green Insider and the Todd Dodge Show), Coach Dodge said that wasn't the reason and that it was because Riley missed an assignment. Do you think Coach Dodge isn't shooting straight in the interviews?

"Coaches Up/Coaches Down North Texas will put three assistant coaches in the press box during games and will have six assistants along with head coach Todd Dodge on the sideline. In the press box will be offensive coordinator Todd Ford, along with defensive coordinator Gary DeLoach. Cornerbacks coach Carlton Buckels and safeties coach Chuck Peterson will join DeLoach in the press box. Linebackers coach David Rausch and defensive line coach Mike Nelson will be on the sidelines. Wide Receiver coach Clayton George and offensive line coach Spencer Leftwich will be on the sidelines along with special teams/running backs coach Shelton Gandy. Graduate assistant coaches Brian Morgan and Kevin Barbay will also be in the press box." When did we start keeping DeLoach in the press box? That's a new thing, isn't it?

I look forward to hearing it. My iPhone tells me the server can't be found.

He was live in studio. They showed several clips of the Ball State game, including him chewing Riley out on the sideline. He talked about how much his players care for each other as a difference maker this year. He responded to questions on his coach/father situation with Riley. He said he told Riley he loved him after the game and let's get some more wins. He said he was proud of Riley. He also talked about one of the tight ends (Greg Brown from Grand Prairie) that is returning from Krones (sp?) Disease. They mentioned that 21 will be carrying the game.

He's on!

UNT 90 Grad replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
Pardon me. I meant on TV. I, like others I'm sure, have been limited to following on the Internet. -

What time will you start to tailgate ? ~5pm (That's the soonest I can get there because I have to catch my kid's football game first.) Where will you be tailgating ? In the Blue Lot where ever they stick me. Who will you be tailgating with ? A coworker that got hooked on the UNT tailgating experience last year when I took him to the ASU game. What is your tailgating food? We'll be grilling some turkey dogs. (The pansy I'm bringing pretty much only eats fowl.) What is your tailgating beverage ? Probably Shiner This is my first year with a parking pass. I'm looking forward to breaking in my portable gas grill and 12x12 GREEN tailgating tent I bought a few weeks back.

Notice the release date on this article as well. Appartently my search brought up a site that was created for tomorrow.

According to the link below, the show is on for tomorrow. I suppose it is still possible that they overlooked that Sept. 7th was Labor Day, but they did specifically call out September 7th as one of the show dates. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...&SPSID=9058

Got the day off? Now that these are at lunch time, seems like a good time to head to the Pourhouse and vocalize our feelings about the win, etc. Anyone else thinking about going?
