  1. ...or lose respectably. We jumped up almost 30 positions in the ranking after our Clemson loss. Let's see how much futher up we move with a win over Rice.
  2. At the 5K, I was told that they would be mailing out the Mean Green Club gifts this year. Still haven't received mine. The conspiricy theorist in me is wondering if the gift is tied to something special they have in store for us at the home games this year and they don't want to spoil the surprise by sending out the gifts prior to the first home game. The pessimist in me thinks someone dropped the ball and they are just running behind. Thoughts? Speculation?
  3. This is a big leap considering we were in the 150's last week.
  4. Later reports are that he will instead be out 6 weeks instead of all season. http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/colleges/northtexas/stories/DRC_untfootball_0907.cb9fa465.html
  5. This?
  6. First start as the first string QB?
  7. planning on skirt steak topped with tomatillo sauce and melted pepperjack cheese, though some of the folks that were going to go with me are starting to bail. Dang kids' sports. I'm also bringing a bag of green apple popcorn for folks to try. It's pretty good and the color's right.
  8. I agree. Vito was just pot stirrin'. I don't think he was surprised.
  9. Ahhh UNT. We have a heralded history of memorable excessive celebration penalties. My favorites include: The UNT defense doing the grenade celebration following a defensive touchdown in a blowout against (I believe) Idaho. I don't remember the year/opponent, but Patrick Cobbs striking the Heisman pose after scoring a touchdown. Sam Dibrell showing the eagle talon as he is running down the field for a touchdown against Navy. I still don't understand how this was an "after the play" penalty when the celebration occurred during the play before he crossed the goal line, but whatever.
  10. Bush league, huh? It looked NFL caliber to me.
  11. Go here for the gallery. There are a few dupes.
  12. Casey Fitzgerald = 87 Johnny Quinn = 81 I'm sure you guys were kicking yourselves later. Must've been a late night. Great job as always!
  13. Same for me. I was about where I expected I'd be.
  14. I work for the parent company of Chili's and Maggiano's. We have some exclusive offers for family and friends. (The Mean Green Nation kind of falls under both.) Go to http://assets.fbmta.com/clt/mggns/lp/join_brinker/join.asp?ruid=3203 and sign up. You'll be sent exclusive offers as well as receive $5 off your next visit at Chili's or $10 your next visit to Maggiano's.
  15. Great. This opens up the fake field goal punt option for us. ;-)
  16. The Hillareal?
  17. It was DirtySavage.
  18. NORTH!!!
  19. Amen. There were a few times last year when I could have stayed home to watch away games, but instead I drove the hour from my house to the Pourhouse to watch. It's definitely worth the extra drive to watch with a bunch other fans. It is the next best thing to being there.
  20. In HD too, if you have an HDTV.
  21. Fake Lonnie or Fake Norm...you be the judge.
  22. Was there a gomeangreen.com Facebook page at one point? Maybe I'm dreaming it. Seems like something like that could be helpful for getting the word out on events like this.
  23. For game 3, judging by the helmet the pic was from around the time I was at UNT. I pulled out what yearbooks I have and unfortunately there are no rosters. However, in 1987 there was a a picture of a #13 that was a defensive back named Mike Rhone. Don't know if that's him or not. The name doesn't ring a bell.
  24. KXAS Ch. 5 News just did a report on veterans going to college and were focussed on UTA and UNT. They had a graphic stating that UNT was sitting at 39,000 students.
