  1. Congratulations! That's an extra $50 deposit to put down for next year.
  2. I remember going to several SMU games as a kid at Texas Stadium. I just remember that the crowds were big enough for them to open the upper level.
  3. So what's the real issue? This guy has coached at both the high school and college levels. Would he have been better off and had better credentials if he'd just sat at home and watched TV during the years he was coaching high school? I think we can take some issue with coaches that ONLY have high school coaching experience. This guy doesn't fit that mold.
  4. For some reason, channel 21 in Dallas was off the air this morning when the MGI was supposed to be on. I usually record it to watch on the TV. Bummer.
  5. Don't forget Wintrich (Strength & Conditioning).
  6. Join the Mean Green Club! PM me if you have questions!

  7. This isn't a great pic, but I coincidentally took this picture with my phone yesterday after work.
  8. Taken 12/8/10 prior to Mean Green Club Representative training.
  9. Why we dissin' the Cowboy game so much? I thought the OT win was pretty entertaining. None the less, I wish I'd heard about the Thompson interviw before now. Hope it went well.
  10. This is the best I could get... I snagged both of these from the ESPN3.com archive of the game, which is still available on ESPN3.com if you want to watch the game again.
  11. Here is my recollection of the Q&A session. I'm paraphrasing, so others feel free to correct me or ellaborate. I didn't take notes or anything. 1. Someone asked what kind of defense he'd be using. He didn't specify. He said he's used to working with players that have a lot of speed, but that he would build the defense around the abilities of the players he has. 2. Emmitt asked something about Coach Mac's thoughts on our culture and the perceived "potential" at UNT. (I couldn't really hear the question because of the jack wagons in the back.) He said he didn't care about "potential" but instead cared about what we will be able to accomplish. (I kind of thought that was about the same as "potential", but whatever.) 3. Someone made a comment about us going 12 - 0 next year. After first asking if this person had been drinking doubles, he said that his focus right now is on kicking Houston's ass in game 1. 4. Someone asked if we'd be using a lot of JUCOs next year. He said he wants to build a team on 4 year players and that that would be his focus. However, to get to where we can start winning right away, we may need to bring on a few JUCOs. I think there were some other questions that I can't remember. He did mention the Canales hire and pointed him out at the back of the room. I chuckled a bit inside when he seemed to not remember what conference UNT is in. It sounded like he started to say "Big East" (maybe had TCU on the brain), but corrected himself by saying "our conference". Overall, I was impressed and am really looking forward to next year and what he can accomplish. I was also very happy with the Canales hire, as are many others.
  12. He was being interviewed by Jub Jub on the radio at half time. Still seems like they could have done a quick introduction though.
  13. Sorry if someone else already hit on this, but I was embarrased at the Mean Green Club reception for Coach Mac tonight. While trying to do a Q&A session with us, people would not shut up in the back of the room. All the inconsiderate chatter was obviously distracting to Coach Mac as well as to those of us actually trying to listen. He stopped speaking multiple times expecting everyone to be quiet so he could finish answering, but people kept on chattering. He even made comments over the PA, telling the folks in the back that they were welcome to come use the mic if they didn't want to be quiet (paraphrasing), but that didn't slow them down. It was a little tense and RV seemed to be getting frustrated as well. Were these just folks there for the basketball game and clueless about who the guy was talking in the microphone? I don't get it. I felt like we made a bad first impression on him. Go Coach Mac! Go Mean Green! (By the way, good turn out for this event I thought. I'm guessing the number of people exceeded expectations. We definitely exceeded the number of chairs.)
  14. I'm ready for the Spring game. Go Mean Green!
  15. Nope. I'd like some consistancy, but green helmets are on the horizon for next year.
  16. Do you have it in you? https://jobs.unt.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1290688560760
  17. Happy Thanksgiving.
  18. I've watched several away games on Mean Green Premium. Seems to be about as hit-and-miss as the home games over time.
  19. I'm in the same boat. A rep from the Athletic Dept. Came out to my workplace last week and is coming out again this coming week with more details. I'm looking forward to learning about the new ways I can support the program beyond financially. I really like and appreciate the direction the school seems to be taking. They are reaching out to alumni to rejuvenate interest in the university. Me likey.
  20. Whiskeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyy. All you want.
  21. I went to the Rice game a few years ago and hung out at the NT tent. They sold food (hot dogs and chips) at the tent. President Gretchen (can't remember how to spell her last name) and RV both spoke. Pretty cool. I can't remember if they sold beer or not. I think we had to buy it somewhere else. I wish we were going to Monroe. I keep thinking this is a trip I'll make one of these years. My son, who you met, and I have a campout this weekend. I'll have to follow the game on the iPhone. Be safe.
  22. The best we could do in conference is 4-4. I believe the only way that could ever get a team a share of the title would be for all the teams in the conference finish 4-4. That would be wild, but not happening this year.
