  1. Hi all. Just a reminder that we are one week away from our Mean Green Club / UNT Alumni Assoc. event in Collin County (Allen). Kendra Talkin will be there from the Mean Green Club, Rob McKinney will be there to answer any questions you have regarding the alumni association, and Evan will be there to enlighten folks to the greatness that is gomeangreen.com. In addition to the football tickets, we'll be drawing for North Texas hats, shirts, and other Mean Green items. Should be a good time had by all. I hope to see you there! It's open to anyone. Go Mean Green!
  2. Word on the street is that Dan the Beer Man's beer is colder and just tastes better. Support our alums. Support the Mean Green. Go Rangers!
  3. We don't have Coach Mac lined up to speak at this event, but we will be having him speak at an event in Plano sometime before summer. The date hasn't been formalized. Next week well have Kendra Talkin from the Mean Green Club, Rob McKinney from the UNT Alumni Association, and our very own Evan will be there to talk about gomeangreen.com. I'm hoping we can get a big turn out to show folks that there is UNT support outside of Denton County.
  4. We have an event one week from tomorrow in Collin County (Allen). Would that be a better drive for you?
  5. Likewise, Nike UNT gear has been available in the past, well prior to McCarney joining the Mean Green.
  6. I was going to make the same suggestion. Or, for more of a Texas feel, you could stay at the Gaylord Texan (across the street from Great Wolf) and go to Great Wolf for the waterpark. I have two boys with special needs and they both did well at Great Wolf. They supply life jackets as well. I'm not sure what the special needs are, but I noticed right now that the Gaylord is donating 10% of the room cost to Autism Speaks. (Might impress the wife.) Sticking with the Texas theme, you could go to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. You might take a tour of Cowboys Stadium. If your wife is a history buff, you could take her to where Kennedy was shot and visit the JFK museum. I know the wife doesn't like to do a lot of walking, so proceed at your own risk. http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylord-texan/specials-packages/index.html?source=GT-ch=gppc-cid=GenL-GaylordExact&s_kwcid=TC|15753|gaylord%20texan||S|e|6449842877 http://www.fortworthstockyards.org/Index.aspx http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/tours/tourInfo.cfm http://www.jfk.org/
  7. This was good press for us, but it made me uncomfortable listening to the talk of JJ and coaching offers. He said he's excited about the future at UNT, but is willing to listen to other offers. Then Doocie made some comments about JJ taking his phone back off of silent when the segment was done. I hope Jones is with us for a long time to come.
  8. After parking, just follow the sounds of the wind turbines and you're there!
  9. Discover the power of ideas. I have an idea. When you know you are going to be video taped representing your school, take a minute or two to gather your thoughts and maybe practice what you are going to say. Sorry. I'm usually not that cynical.
  10. If I read things correctly: >=$10K/yr donors (with $100K stadium campaign donation) park in a new lot not pictured here, but that will be behind the press box side stands >=$1K/yr doners (with club seats) park in the lot marked 83 above >=$250/yr doners park in the lot labeled 81 above That's my interpretation anyway.
  11. +1 for catching this. That's what I get for posting before 7am on a Saturday. It's for the 2011 season. I've fixed above. Thanks.
  12. We are having a UNT mixer on March 31st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Dodie's Place Sports Grill. This event is sponsored by the Collin County Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association and the Mean Green Club. We'll have information on different ways to stay engaged with UNT, but it's mostly just an opportunity to get together and network with fellow alumni, friends, and fans. We'll be raffling off a handfull of different UNT prizes, including a Family Funpack (includes 4 tickets, 4 drinks, and a pizza) to any 2011 home football conference game. I hope to see you there!
  13. I'm at Dodie's, the beer is cold, and ESPN2 is on the big screen. Go Mean Green!
  14. Dodie's Place Sports Grill in Allen said they'd put the UNT/UALR game up on at least one of their two big screens tonight. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it up there tonight or not, but we need to show them some love. They'll be hosting a UNT mixer for us all on March 31st. (More to come on that later.)
  15. I was thinking of Ron Mexico.
  16. Traditions are fun and all, until someone loses an eye. Bring back the tortilla.
  17. Ahhh. In that case I definitely agree with you.
  18. Do you think people would notice if we did? I'll assume you normally sit on the alumni side and never turn around.
  19. PM me if you live and Collin County and are interested in UNT events close to home. Join the UNT Alumni Association!

  20. I wouldn't touch a thing with the UNT pep band. They look like a bunch of crazy student fans that happened to pick up instruments and play better than most pep bands you hear...and have fun doing it. That's part of their charm and what makes them fun to watch, IMHO.
  21. Is that Rage Against the Machine?
  22. I was told the same thing as KRAM1, with one other detail. For groups wanting to sit together, they will need the request in writing from each account holder. This is to protect the higher point holders from being downgraded in seats without their approval.
  23. For those thinking the wingzone is temporary and isn't part of the 50K plan, RV said the stadium can get to 50K without tearing anything down. Works for me.
  24. PM me with either your home address or an email address and I'd be happy to send you a renewal form.
