  1. Thanks to the 4 year cap on priority point consideration for seat selection, I don't select until late tomorrow afternoon. How is seat availability looking from those that recently selected?
  2. No to rebranding. Yes to a throw back game. That's what I'd love to see.
  3. Hey Drex. It was great to meet you at the Dallas caravan stop. Happy Birthday!
  4. Regarding the optical illusion, I think there is some truth to that if you are looking via the web cam. The stands all look much steeper when you look at them in person than they do through the web cam. The web cam likely makes the field look wider as well. Regarding the curves, I don't think curves alone make the stands further away. You could look at it that the curves make the corners closer to the playing area than you could possibly get near the middle of the field simply because you need and area for the players and others to stand. See pic below...
  5. There were quite a few more folks at Grand Prairie than there were at Fort Worth. Speakers included Coaches Mac, Jones, Aston, and Sujay Lama (tennis). We also got to hear from a gentleman with the City of Grand Prairie. The theater where it was held was very cool. The caravan was held in the lobby area by the concession area.
  6. I wouldn't worry too much. There aren't any numbers either. They probably paint all that on later.
  7. Go Mean GREEN TEAM!!!
  8. The main thing I like about Thunderstruck is that it takes me back to when UNT was playing in bowl games. Other than that, I could deal with something else...although I liked Thunderstruck better than The Who and Phil Collins (with Thunderstruck) from more recent years.
  9. We have to get the Denton weather report from somewhere!?!
  10. We have to get the Denton weather report from somewhere!?!
  11. That's it. The bartender called it "our own". I assumed he meant the hotel's.
  12. Here you go... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYaIDwjjldg
  13. I'll be there tonight. (Grand Prairie)
  14. Each stop has been unique. Last night I was really impressed with the food layout (and no, I haven't been going to each of these for the free food). Larg bacon wrapped shrimp, some sort if wraps, bruchetta (sp?), huge cookies, and chips and queso. I had to try the hotel's proprietary beer, Buffalo Butt. Tasted much much better than the name would imply. I continue to be impressed with the job the Mean Green Club has done with these. One more to go for this year. You all should go while they are still free and intimate.
  15. There is free snow at the top of Mount Everest. You just have to be man enough to go for it. ;-)
  16. I enjoyed the other 3 so much, I'm making the haul to the town of the cow. Wish me luck. See you there, KRAM1.
  17. I went in the Rally House in Fairview today and they still have a couple of these emblems as well as a couple other styles. While in there, I was asking the guy at the register about other UNT merchandise and was told that the only stuff they have is from last year and once it is sold off they will no longer be carrying North Texas merchandise. When I asked why he said that UNT didn't want to extend their licensing but instead wanted to reduce it. He said that UNT merchandise sales are big in Denton and that the university wanted to keep the money in Denton. I told him that was goofy and didn't make sense and he agreed. Not sure if he really knew what he was talking about, but he seemed to think he did. :growl: I don't know the business back end of this stuff, but it seems to contradict the message RV was giving at one of the coaches caravans in talking about seeing UNT gear in more locations, as I remember it. I'm a big Rick Villareal believer and totally believe he is shooting straight with us, but there seems to be some misinformation or contradiction somewhere.
  18. Lanyard purchased at Ralleyhouse Texas.
  19. Those are the brain children of the Mean Green Club Rep. Program. They are doing a fantastic job. The reps suppliment what these folks do. We work with them quite a bit.
  20. Andre' Krimm & Paul Blake, the arm of the Armadillos.
  21. The more donations to the Mean Green Club, the more Athletic Department funds are freed up to do things like potentially hiring a sales force. Instead the Athletic Department has to supplement the costs of the 350 student athlete scholarships that ideally would have been completely covered by donations. It's a big circle, but the bottom line is that every donation helps improve what the Athletic Department can do each year.
  22. It's not ending. They are measuring the success of the program in time periods of June through May. We'll just be picking up with the next year of the program starting in June. Probably more behind the curtain than you care about.
  23. Greatest: Big Baylor Win Worst: Big Tulsa Loss Misserablest: The fight against WKU that was preceded by a wet and fridged football game...but a win's a win.
  24. It was great. Jub Jub was doing rim shots on a drum kit to Coach Mac's jokes. Free photos. Free booze. It was great to hear Jordon Case speak to his passion for the university. The music from the DJ was a bit too loud for talking. I didn't realize how well the women's golf team was doing...and how many records they beat this year. Good to see and hear the new women's basketball coach. I think I'll make the haul to Grand Prairie and/or Ft. Worth.
