  1. I think you are in luck! An email went out to all the Mean Green Club Representative volunteers that included "...dinner at the Football Radio Show following the FIU game on Monday, September 5." "dinner" being the key word.
  2. The best deal I've seen is at shopmeangreen.com. Think they have a flag for $25.
  3. There are also free clips from the game in this Mean Green Insider edition: http://www.meangreensports.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?&db_oem_id=1800&id=87037&DB_MENU_ID=&SPSID=&SPID=&BIO_PLAYER_ID=&DB_OEM_ID=1800 Thanks for the excuse to go back and look at this footage again.
  4. I was thinking the same thing.
  5. He might be. You know, it is UNT and we've had that sort of reputation at times in the past.
  6. I'm not sure if this gets you what you need, but it looks like the Navy game is still available online for Mean Green Premium subscribers: http://www.meangreensports.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?&db_oem_id=1800&id=84996&DB_MENU_ID=&SPSID=&SPID=&BIO_PLAYER_ID=&DB_OEM_ID=1800 Disclaimer: It's not free content. I'm not a current subscriber, so I can only validate up to the point to where it says you have to log in to view it.
  7. I got as close to the wing tip as I could without pushing folks out of the way that were standing there admiring the view. My legs were feeling it too by the time I got up there. I was proud of my 4 year old daughter who walked it herself by her choosing instead of me carrying her. Near the top she said "This is a lot of stairs, Daddy".
  8. This just in: We will also have door prizes at this event including UNT merchandise donated by the UNT Alumni Association as well as an item or two from local retailers!
  9. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty sure folks are congratulating RV on a job well done, not for doing a job that isn't his to do.
  10. I did see one guy there with a UT lanyard hanging out of his pocket. Unfortunately it was my cousin's kid, who is also a current UNT student. Very disappointing.
  11. Did anyone notice the mini-helmets they were selling in there? They were different than any I'd seen before. They looked like last year's helmets, but the "North Texas" on the sides was only outlined and not filled in with green. Possible alternate helmet?
  12. I had a great time with my family there. The hot dogs were about as good as any game dog you get. The stadium was fantastic. It was great getting to go down on the turf and experience its quality. The kids enjoyed the bounce house, photo ops with Scrappy, the free tatoos & North Texas eye black, and most of all the free Beth Marie's ice cream. I didn't get to hear Coach Mac and RV speak because I didn't want to lose my place in line to go upstairs. They were using the service elevator and had the ticket holder elevators and stairs closed off. Cheerleaders were operating the elevators. I was disappointed that they didn't let us up to the suite level. I thought I read we'd be able to go up there, but the club level was as great as advertised. My wife said the hand dryer arrangement was odd in the women's room. She said there was only one hand dryer and it was around the corner from the sinks. That was the only complaint I heard from my family. I couldn't find my paver stone around the Alumni Pavilion, I guess I'll need to follow up on that. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of merchandise in the team store after readint the negative posts on the board. I suppose my expectations were just low, but knowing that there would be more stuff in the future. There was a great turn out. They didn't open the gates until right at 5pm, which was a bummer for all the folks hanging out in the sun on the West side of the stadium with the sun beating down on us. That's my random scatter shooting on the event. It was definitely worth the time and drive.
  13. That's great news. Those guys already advertise with UNT and have several alum on their management staff.
  14. Fixed. Just a typing error. Thanks for the quick catch. The game and event are on Thursday, not Saturday.
  15. We've been working with Rudy's for a while to get things in order to do this. The Collin County Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association is sponsoring a football game watching party on Thursday, September 1st at the new Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q in Allen next to the new Cabela,s at the Villages of Allen. We'll be watching the Mean Green take on the SBC Champion Golden Panthers of Florida International live. If you live in the North Dallas or Collin County area and don't want to drive to Denton to watch the game on the video board, this is the event for you. If you want to watch the game in an air conditioned environment while enjoying a cold beer and great barbeque with fellow Mean Green fans, this is the event for you. The folks at Rudy's are great! They had a new wireless access point installed in their event room at the Allen location just so we could broadcast Internet fed UNT games on their big HD TV. It helps that Rudy's has multiple UNT grads on their management staff and is already a proud sponsor of UNT athletics. A special thanks to Grant.UNT for helping to pull this off! More to come!
  16. Coach Mac said we won't be doing the coach's show at the Pourhouse any more, unless something has changed. There was desire to give that honor to an establishment that does more to support the university financially.
  17. I'm pretty sure they'll let the alumni shop with everyone else. Segregation is dead.
  18. No. They just needed a general idea of the number of people coming.
  19. Become one of us. Come to the Green side.
  20. I don't know how THIS thread never made it into the Hall of Fame.
  21. It's okay. You just need to losen up.
