  1. Isn't there a Rudy's down there? You could push for that and throw out that the Allen and Denton locations are doing it. Plus, Rudy's is a proud supporter of Mean Green athletics.
  2. Sponsored by the chapter, open to anyone to attend.
  3. ...and like we did when we played @ SMU.
  4. Sounds like you need to reach out to Rob McKinney, start up a Hill Country chapter of the UNT Alumni Association, and put this stuff together. Make it happen, Cap'n! Maybe you have time to put something together to watch the Alabama game down there in a few weeks.
  5. I can't wait to get my tailgate instructions in the mail. Maybe my season tickets will be included. I didn't get either today.
  6. Grant - you need to at least take a stroll through the tailgate scene. If you don't socialize with the common folk, people will start up monocle talk again. You are going to really enjoy those club seats.
  7. I'll see y'all at the tailgate. I get in Thursday afternoon.
  8. Good deal! They should do this at all their locations instead of just Allen and Denton!
  9. I know I've posted this on a few other threads, but we are having a watching party at Rudy's BBQ in Allen. We are hooking a laptop up to their big flat screen in their event room. This is a good alternative to Apogee if you want air conditioning and ice cold beer in addition to fellow Mean Green fans.
  10. Did he realize it's not televised on TV? Even Coach Mac referred to it as "nationally televised" on ESPN3, which could have confused folks since ESPN3 is an Internet feed only. That's awesome if they are doing the laptop song and dance.
  11. If they do it like they did the Movie Night, concessions will be open as well as the team store. You are allowed to take blankets on the field, but no chairs. (everyone just stayed in the stands at movie night). I doubt you can bring in your own food and drink, assuming they follow the posted stadium rules.
  12. The Collin County Chapter if the UNT Alumni Assoc. will be showing it at the Rudy's in Allen, but I don't believe it will be shown by anyone at the Denton location.
  13. Gentlemen, come on. Do we really need all this? First game is Thursday!
  14. I always wondered why the Sam Dibrell talon against Navy was treated as a dead ball foul after the touchdown when it actually happened prior to crossing the goal line. Now I know.
  15. I bought my tickets through the North Texas Ticket Office. I believe they put me in Section 133, Row 16, Seats 1&2.
  16. You can come to Rudy's BBQ in Allen on Thursday night and see a live example of how this works. http://untvsfiuallentx.eventbrite.com/?ref=ecal
  17. That's a little misleading. Trent started when Will was hurt, not because there was a punter battle or anything.
  18. It's a cool clip, but ending with the stadium name does make it unlikely that this will be the video played when the players take the field. Thanks for posting, bobelok!
  19. Conflict? So showing the game in multiple places is a bad thing?
  20. Thank you! I just noticed that FIU Stadium runs East/West instead of North/South. I'll bet that's really nice [sarcasm alert] for the team facing the sun as it sets. Factor that into the coin flip.
  21. Leach is missing out.
  22. Aye, savvy?
  23. There were more people there than I was expecting. I wasn't expecting it to get me excited about football, but looking around at all the people settling into seats getting ready to watch an event did get me thinking about game day. No one sat on the field, though they advertised that we could. There wasn't really anyone sitting on the student side. People were sprinkled about most if not all sections of the alumni side and the wing zone.
  24. Last night at Apogee Stadium, prior to Pirates of the Caribbean, they played a few promo videos. One of them looked like it might bethe video they'll play after the team takes the field. Did anyone else see this? As I remember it, it was ominous and littered with CGI storm clouds, kind of like what the Mavericks do. It included some of the time lapse of the stadium construction and historic game footage. The music was dramatic, like that from a movie score, rather than our typicall classic rock stuff. I liked it. Anyone else see this? Thoughts?
  25. It is ESPN3. Game time is 6pm CST on Thursday night. Login and cheer for UNT. If they win, it won't look as bad for your Cougars if/when UNT pulls off an upset on 9/10/11. Are the Coogs really playing on Thursday? I'm guessing you didn't realize the Mean Green were playing Thursday rather that Saturday. I'll pull for you against UCLA.
