  1. You might be able to blame that partially on Coach Mac. There have been two times that I've heard him say something along the lines of "Isn't it a great time to be a Mean Greener".
  2. Hey folks. Just for the record, I wasn't trying to take shots at any particular groups, organizations, or individuals. It just seems like in previous years if a place in Denton was having a watching event, we all knew about it, regardless of who was sponsoring it. (Pour House, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc.). For the Tulsa game we had fans, including students, drive to Allen to watch the game. It turns out they were showing it at Rudy's in Denton too, but they didn't know.
  3. We had ~60 people show up for the last watching party here in Allen. My bet is that you'll have a great turn out in Denton as well.
  4. I agree that there should be a place in Denton heavily promoted for watching road games. I'm a little surprised no one has been doing it. The watching parties in Allen are put on by the Collin County chapter of the UNT Alumni Association.. I wish someone would step up in Tarrant County too.
  5. Bump ditty bump ditty bump bump, bump bump. Gmg
  6. Yep. That's the kind of luck I have.
  7. Huh? If your daughter hasn't won before, why are you supporting her? Should you not root for that rich girl that wins a lot instead. Her mom made a bunch of shirts to support her daughter that her family wears. Even non-family members wear them. You don't have to be a family member to act like you are a family member. Just put on one of those burnt orange family shirts and cheer for the rich kid that wins a lot. Everyone else does it. I jest, of course. By the way, here is a link to the homecoming festivities: http://homecoming.unt.edu/ Keep wearing green and support our kids.
  8. I'd been watching for the one in the link for a long time, but it was always out of stock. I wound up buying a UNT garden flag from the team store at Apogee. It's different than the one mentioned above from the spirit store because it's smaller than other garden flags we have and isn't made of felt. It's two sided and seems durable and weather resistant. I think it's made out of gortex or something.
  9. Still not in control, but if we beat ULaLa and then they win out, FIU wins out, and we win out, we are looking at a 3 way tie for 1st place. Good times. If we beat ULaLa, we immediately become Cajun fans.
  10. I tried to find the most similar pic I could. (Beggars can't be choosers.) Here you go... Jake Molbert: Andy Kaufman:
  11. The General Manager at the Rudy's in Denton used to be at the Allen location until a few weeks ago. He's also a UNT alum. From what I understand, he has brought his computer up to the Denton restaurant a couple times this season so that patrons can watch the UNT games. I'd suggest calling the restaurant and asking for the GM to see if they'll be doing it again this weekend. I'll bet they are.
  12. This is a big game this weekend! I'm preaching to the choir, but if North Texas wins, we'd be just a half game out of first in the Belt. If you can't go to Lafayette, don't sit at home alone watching the game on your computer. We'll once again have the feed showing on the big TV at Rudy's in Allen. Grant.UNT will be our host. Come watch with fellow Mean Green fans! We'll start things up at 3:30pm. Kickoff is at 4. Rudy's is offering our Mean Green drink special again which includes $2 PBR pints and Natty Lights. Get there early for good seats. The room filled up for the Tulsa game and bled over into the next room. So who's coming???
  13. If we beat Lala then I'll be very disappointed that I wasn't able to watch the game. If we lose to Lala then superstition will kick in and I'll feel somehow like they lost because I wasn't able to watch the game and cheer for them. Dang family commitments.
  14. Nope, you can just show up. The more the merrier. We'd love to have you.
  15. Yep, and we confirmed our usual Mean Green Drink Special: $2 PBR pints and Natural Lights. Get there early. We bled over into the next room for the Tulsa game.
  16. But those things would look kickin' with you spirit socks!
  17. Brett Baer: Jamie Lee Curtis:
  18. Happy Birthday to the icon of the UNT fans! Have a great one!
  19. Ragin' Roster
  20. I had to miss most of the game, but my understanding is that Outlaw looked good in pregame. He didn't play because he's still recovering from his knee injury. Hopefully he will return this week.
  21. Probably referring to the fact that the Green Brigade has incorporated "caw" into the fight song.
  22. I have 19 tickets to the homecoming game. 13 of those will be used by people that have never been to a UNT football game, three of which are alums.
  23. Great tailgate, except for when a big gust of wind bent my tent/shelter in half. We had to go topless the rest of the afternoon. Sorry you had to see that, KRAM1.
  24. There isn't anything to fix. You have to pay attention to context. The 14 championships was in reference to championships while Fouts was the home of the Mean Green. The video is about moving from the Fouts era to the Apogee era.
  25. Hint received. The back room is reserved. We'll start up at 3:30pm and kickoff is at 4pm. Grant.UNT is being a huge help on this one. We should be having the $2 PBR pints and Natural Lights again.
