Kick it really old school and sport a leather helmet. (Is leather fire retardant? I've never seen a burning cow...well...except on my tailgating grill.)

Good news and bad news out of #1 UNT scrimmage
UNT 90 Grad replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Someone pointed out on a different thread that we haven't actually played 100 seasons because there were some years without football due to WWII. Therefore, if you counted 50 wins, we are a few seasons over .500. -
UNT Scrimmage fails to produce front-runner at quarterback

Coach speak is kind of like the Oracle speak from the Matrix. They tell you what you need to hear, which isn't necessarily the truth. Just sayin'.- 22 replies

UNT Scrimmage fails to produce front-runner at quarterback

I guess it depends on what you mean by clear cut. If I remember right, Vizza took the starting job away from Meager several games in. Am I remembering that wrong?- 22 replies

Amen. It seem's like a coach's "loyalty" to particular players would cost him the loyalty from his players, the fans, and could ultimately cost him his job via losing records. What does a coach have to gain by sacrificing putting the best players on the field in the name of loyalty to specific players?

Off Season Topic : greatest football movie of all time ?
UNT 90 Grad replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
That was back in the day when we all could pull together for a common goal. Not really. By the way, my favorite football movie is very different from what I think the best football movie is. -
Funny, but no. However, if he consistently performed the way he did in that single series, I think we'd all be thrilled. I was referring to comments I think RV made in the podcast regarding DT's weight and performance at practice. But then again, seems like we've heard historically that he's usually outperformed others at practice.

UNT Saturday Scrimmage notes (video coming) Chico more added!
UNT 90 Grad replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I'll probably get dinged for saying this, but I feel like the tall tale of DT's inadequacies has grown more and more in the offseason. He had some big issues last year, but his issue, IMHO, was inconsistency. I feel like some on the forum feel like he was consistent...consistently bad. That's just not what I recall (or see from the games I still have DVR'd). I want to see the best QB start, but I've seen posts from folks wishing failure on DT at practice so he won't start. (Like hoping he throws interceptions.) I either want DT to have improved and earned holding on to the starting role, or I want someone else to earn taking it from him. Either way, put the best QB on the field. -
Made me think of that North Texas fumble return end zone to end zone for a touchdown against Utah State 10 or so years ago. Always taught to down the ball in the end zone, but he ran it all the way back.

Are you talking about your assessment of seeing Dajon taking reps everytime you went by practice? Did someone doubt what you saw? What is your assessment? Are you implying you don't think they'll redshirt him? Inquiring minds...

Then someone erased September 27, 1997 from the history books. This game holds the "home" attendance record for North Texas at 45,923. (We played it at Texas Stadium.)

I'd take #2. You might make the hypothetical a little more interesting if you made the loss to North Texas out to be Georgia's only loss of the year and Georgia finishes highly ranked.

Funny. My Spanish isn't great, but they were just talking about Lance and North Texas in Denton on the Telemundo broadcast.
-
. But RV said he's looking more like 2010 DT.
-
Oh we'll. I'm learning some Spanish. Good news is the Telemundo coverage is delayed, so I'm not missing any of the game. Currently 14:53 left in the 2nd. Viva Los Vaqueros!
