I know this is a stat that some on here seemed to focus on. We had 27 first downs last night. We passed 14 times on 1st down*. *Disclaimer: there were a few times when 1st down had to be replayed due to penalties. Those plays fed into the 14 passes, but may not be part of the 27 total 1st downs.

The NBC 10pm newscast showed the score and mentioned the great night for Derek Thompson at the very end of wrapping up college football scores. No video footage.

Did anyone else think Tim Couch called him Darius Carey through the PA after the TD? I swear that's what I think he said. Tough night for Tim. Calling Zach Paul "Zach Olen". Claiming field goals were good and announcing an incorrect updated score when the refs were signalling no good. Struggling early on with the First State Bank first down calls. Sounded like he hadn't thought through how he was going to work the sponsor in ahead of time...and eventually just dropped the sponsor from the calls. It was the first game of the season for everyone.

Enjoyed the show on the drive home last night! I did think the levels seemed a bit low. I had to have it cranked all the way up in the car and still struggled to hear at times. It sounded like you guys were trying to talk softly...like you were concerned about making too much noise? At any rate, great job and looking forward to the next one!!

North Texas vs. Ohio Watching Party - For those not going to Oktoberfest, the Collin County North Texas vs. Ohio watching party will be at Fairview Down Under on 9/7 at 6pm. http://fairviewdownunder.com/ Fairview Down Under is located at The Village at Fairview, between Allen and McKinney at the northeast corner of US 75 and Stacy Road, behind the JC Penny. They have a full restaurant and bar. The game will be projected on the big screen as well as on various TVs throughout. The game audio will be piped throughout the restaurant. They will have several drink specials for Mean Green fans. They include: · Choose from three special green shots for $3 each including o Melon Balls o Green Kamikazes o Green Apples · Buckets of Beer for $12 · Coach “Mac”tinis (Grey Goose Martinis) for $7 We will also have door prizes and a raffle. My adopted player didn't have one of his better games, to say the least, from a PAT perspective. Zach Olen made his first two PATs, but missed his third and his fourth was blocked before being replaced by Zach Paul (who made both of his PATs). I didn't have a problem with Zach's kickoffs. His 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 7th resulted in touch backs. His 3rd was returned out of the end zone, 4th returned from the 5, and 6th returned from the 2. How did your players do?

Made my own NT battle flag corn hole game. Got a generator and an HD antenna in the offseason, but not bringing them out tomorrow. No games I care about on network TV tomorrow. Also got an NT battle flag to fly above my old school UNT flag.

Red raiders score again. Good night, smelly men's underwear. Too bad so sad.

Going simpler. Beer brats. Trying to decide between grilling tomorrow or just holding them up in the air to let them cook.

That's not the definition I'm familiar with. A trap game is when a team is looking beyond a particular game or otherwise not giving a game the focus it may need, setting them up for a potential loss.
