My post above on the Fox College Sports channels was regarding the Southern Miss game. It will be on FCS Central. The tricky thing is that these are not part of standard packages. The establishment has to be paying for the sports package that includes FCS. Also, for whatever crazy reason, DirecTV won't sell the package to places that seat > 100 people.

For those not going to the game, watching with a big group of Mean Green fans is the next best thing.

North Texas vs. Louisiana Tech Watching Party - The North Texas vs. Louisiana Tech watching party will be at Fairview Down Under on 10/19 at 2:30pm. http://fairviewdownunder.com/ Fairview Down Under is located at The Village at Fairview, between Allen and McKinney at the northeast corner of US 75 and Stacy Road, behind the JC Penny. They have a full restaurant and bar. The game will be projected on the big screen as well as on various TVs throughout. The game audio will be piped throughout the restaurant. They will have several drink specials for Mean Green fans. They include: · Choose from three special green shots for $3 each including Melon Balls Green Kamikazes Green Apples · Buckets of Beer for $12 · Coach “Mac”tinis (Grey Goose Martinis) for $7 We will also have door prizes and a raffle. I went by the Fuzzy's in Plano. The have Dish Network. I googled around and found multiple references to Dish Network not carrying FCS. Fuzzy's didn't get any of the channels I found as possibly carrying FCS. I guess I'll keep looking. Shouldn't be this difficult.

There is a Fuzzy's in Plano on US 75. Maybe I'll look into that. Thanks!

So the North Texas - Southern Miss game is going to be on Fox College Sports. This is the same channel that the North Texas - Tulane game was on. I'm looking for a place in Collin County to host a watching party for the Southern Miss game, but want to make sure that the establishment actually gets that channel. As some of us ran into for the Tulane game, DirecTV puts restrictions in place that prevent larger establishments from getting Fox College Sports. It's tricky to test without having them call DirecTV because the channel isn't always airing content. Did anyone happen to catch the Tulane game at a bar or restaurant in Collin County? If so, could you let me know where? I'm looking for ideas. Little help? Thanks.

Why yes...yes there will be.

Courtesy of the fact that DirecTV won't sell their "Sports Tier" packages to customers whose accounts list them as establishments that hold >100 people. Ran into the same problem for Fairview Down Under. They have different sports packages for larger establishments, but they don't include Fox College Sports.

I've never seen a road win in person. I won't see one this time either. I'm staying back and will watch the road win on TV while manning the watching party at Fairview Down Under...and yes, I already verified that they get CBS Sports Network.
