  1. Timing is everything. My fear is that if we pull off a win, history will remember it as a fluke due to a cold start for newly named Texas head coach. They will see it as a poor performance by Texas rather than a good performance by North Texas. I hope I'm wrong.
  2. That wasn't intended. I'm actually not familiar with "Jazzed about Denton".
  3. Don't miss out on the opportunity to part the burnt orange D.
  4. I dunno. Now it'll get lost amongst the random weekday games, work conflicts, and holiday events.
  5. Gotta admit, I'm tired if the movie clips for the audio. The Hercules bit seems a little cheesy. We are more like David going going to face Goliath in August.
  6. This post has been promoted to an article
  7. I have a challenge for you all. You've probably seen the Keep Austin Weird shirts: You've probably also seen the Keep Denton Beard shirts: As a showing of solidarity and focus on beating UT on August 30th, I challenge you to put down that razor and let those beards grow until game day. I mean really, who has time for shaving when our focus should be preparing for the kickoff to the 2014 season. I propose we get our beards started no later than May 30th. 3 months of growth should look pretty dang good. When people ask you about your change in facial follicles, use the opportunity to spread the word of your support for the Mean Green. Tell your friends, alert the media, spread the word... Let's win the challenge of Beard vs. Weird. Note: Ladies, please show your support by pushing the men in your life to participate in this challenge. Don't change your own grooming habits...really not needed.
  8. Good thing he didn't get last minute cold feet. The church door would have been in grave danger. Looks like a great catch, Johnny!
  9. My thoughts exactly. So does having Todd Dodge at Austin Westlake help build a pipeline or a roadblock out of that school for North Texas recruiting?
  10. UNT Athletic Director Rick Villarreal will be speaking for the McKinney Rotary Club this Friday (5/2) at Rick’s Chop House in old downtown McKinney. There is a charge for lunch (around $12 or so). The lunch starts at noon. Rick will start speaking around 12:30 and should wrap up around 1:00. Anyone can attend, just mention that you are a guest of UNT Alumni Board Member Mike Robnett. Let’s have a good Mean Green contingent at this event! Rick’s Chop House 107 N. Kentucky St. McKinney, TX (214) 726-9251 I hope you can make it out and GO MEAN GREEN!!!

  12. Game plus a $41 case of imported beer?
  13. Maybe hire this guy?
  14. UAB hasn't announced their homecoming date yet. Other than that, it doesn't look like NT has been scheduled for anyone's homecoming.
  15. Looks like that same train stops in Dallas first at 11:50am before going to Fort Worth.
  16. The marketing materials (flyers and posters) show FAU on Nov 8th as homecoming as well.
  17. Well, I figure there aren't many (if any) teams I'd rather see my almamater beat more than Texas. Plus it's driving distance and I have a free place to stay. I've never been to AQ home game before either. I want to see what it's like.
  18. I had sticker shock at first, but you gotta do what you gotta do. When does tailgating start in Austin?
  19. By that logic, we should pay the players that aren't on ships too...wait, scratch that.
  20. I like them more than I hate them.
  21. Who went home and watched their DVDs? I'm curious to hear reviews. I flipped through the "book" in the store. George referred to it as a "program" at the HOF event. I agree that it is more like a program/magazine than a book. I wound up using my $ to purchase other items in the store, but if the DVD gets rave reviews, I may pick one up later.
