  1. Thank you! I was trying to think of the name of that place. I'd looked at having a basketball watching party there on year when we played UT. I'll look into it. I think they had Fios. Thanks again.
  2. I'm trying to find a place in Collin County that will host a UNT vs UT watching party. The challenge I've run into is finding a place that carries the Longhorn Network. Man I'd hate to be a Longhorn fan. Everyplace I go has DirecTV, which doesn't offer the Longhorn Network as an option. The Longhorn Network is only carried on AT&T U-Verse, Time Warner Cable, Dish Network, Verizon Fios, Charter and Grande Communications. Buffalo Wild Wings has Time Warner Cable, but has some deal with UFC that night and will be playing the audio from that instead of football. Places I've been to looking: Plano - Buffalo Wild Wings Plano - The Hang Out Plano - Chuy's Allen - Kelly's Allen - Texas Land and Cattle Allen - Game On Allen - Two Rows McKinney - Buffalo Wild Wings McKinney - Razoo's McKinney - Rock Fish McKinney - Saltgrass Steakhouse Anyone have any suggestions of places that you know to carry the Longhorn Network in Collin County? My next shot is going to be Fuzzy's Tacos in Plano. Probably not the best environment for game watching, but I think they have Dish. Maybe they have a way to pipe the audio through the restaurant. The irony here is I'm doing all this searching and I'm actually going to the game. I just want to make sure my Collin County homies are all set up. I do plan to host some watching parties in person later in the season with the usual door prizes, UNT schwag, etc. One thing I've learned: North Texas games appear to be more accessible than Texas games this year.
  3. Hmmm. Let me give this some thought.
  4. The choices were steak or fish. I had the lasagna. How is this football related again?
  5. PM your current email address to me and I'll get you added back to my distribution list for Collin County UNT events. The address I have for you started kicking back to me a while back. I have to find a new place to start hosting watching parties. Unfortunately Fairview Down Under closed down. I'd moved away from Rudy's because we were getting too big for the back room and a new manager said they were going to start charging me to guarantee the room. My top two candidates right now are Allen Wickers and Buffalo Wild Wings, both in Plano. I hosted the Southern Miss game at Allen Wickers last year. Great place but the room doesn't leave much room for growth. The Plano Buffalo Wild Wings interests me because BWW is a UNT restaurant partner and they have both DirecTV and Time Warner Cable. I'm also thinking about Sauced in Allen. I'll identify a common place for Collin County UNT fans to watch the Texas game and work with the management at the establishment. I won't be able to host it because I'll be at the game in Austin. More to come.

  7. Good to see they listened to the readers and made the update!
  8. So where are they filing all this content that Brett provides them?
  9. Hmmm. I'll be on an Indian Guides campout at Lake Murray in Oklahoma the weekend of the Nicholls State game. I wonder if I should bring the generator, TV, and HD antenna just in case. Sounds like I have some research to do. ~Chief Flying Worm
  10. No uniform talk. I didn't take notes, do take it easy if I'm a bit off on anything. He said he'd talk slowly for the Texas alums in the room. Said he expects baseball in the 2016-17 season. Said we are the 3rd largest university in the state and around 25th in the country. Said we are graduating 80% of our athletes. Talked about our OSU and TT wins in the Pit. Showed pics of much if the athletic facilities. Big donation coming soon for baseball. Said he has a pet project to get an indoor facility in the middle of the tennis complex. Said that if people in Plano think Denton is far away, they must not go to Dallas much. That's about all I can remember. Sorry for the scatter shooting.
  11. Different people have different "needs" I suppose.
  12. Sitting in the section behind home plate, we could hear the "North...Texas" chant going on in left field. Pretty cool when they had the Mean Green Cam on the scoreboard while playing our fight song.
  13. Me + 1 wearing green in sec 26. Just got tix.
  14. I'd say around 50 people. Pretty intimate, but it filled the room we were in.
  15. Those that didn't make it out today missed out on good food and a good time. Keep an eye out for more events like this in the future.
  16. As part of the UNT Alumni Association outreach, UNT Athletic Director Rick Villarreal will be the Program at the Plano Metro Rotary Club at GlenEagles Country Club in Plano this Wednesday at Noon on July 9th. You are more than welcome to come as a guest of UNT Alumni Board Member Mike Robnett. All you need to do is show up for lunch at 11:50 or so to sign in, just tell them you are a guest of Mike Robnett. The larger the crowd the better, we hope to see you there. Thank you.
  17. A statue that rushed for 72 yards in that game, falling only 7 yards behind NT's leading rusher in that game, Brandin Byrd.
  18. Yeah. The material on the head was scuffed up and really thinned out. If you looked at him with the sun on the other side of him, the beak looked like Swiss cheese.
  19. They had to make a change. Klansman Scrappy was falling apart.
  20. Smelly Men's Underwear. (That's what one of my elementary school PE coaches told us it stood for.)
  21. Volumes 1 and 2 for those interested:
  22. Yes. 1977 we were sporting the flying worm helmets.
