  1. Looked like yellow side panels and collar to me rather than "all green", hence my Oregon comment. I'm sure I'm wrong and just going color blind.
  2. Oregonesque.
  3. It's on tonight. The references to last night were in reference to a preview of tonight's interview. Are you wondering if someone taped the preview?
  4. Maybe they won't be Strong supporters.
  5. Green helmets with white SOW would be my preference, especially if the white SOW was outlined in black, matching the SOW on the 50. I'd also like the existing white and green uniforms, if white numbering, lettering, and were outlined in black also. Okay, time to go see what I did with my man card. Yeah. I would have preferred the apple green with the white flying worm, matching the original flying worm helmets. As long as the greens weren't going to match, we might as well have gone all out. Still looking for that man card.
  6. Okay, I've added a low tech version of the 2004 video. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out a way to move it to the first choice in the sequence of the poll answers, so it's out of order at the end. Feel free to change your votes if you like this one best.
  7. One of my favorite episodes...
  8. Man, I agree with you. There is a Thunderstruck video that I have on DVD, but haven't figured out how to get it to YouTube that I like better than the 2005 I posted. It's very similar to the 2005 video, but with more game footage. In the game footage, the football was always highlighted in green. It featured one of my most memorable plays when Patrick Cobbs disappeared into a sea of Arky State jerseys and somehow amazingly squeezed through for a big gain. Some of you may remember it. Maybe I'll go low tech and record it off the TV with my phone or something. It may be my favorite. I think it's from 2004.
  9. Yeah, but at first glance it looks like $100 since the horizontal strike through goes right across the middle of the 6. Eddie - I'll send out an email to my Alumni and Mean Green Club contacts. I appreciate all you do!
  10. I figured this was a good off season poll. I'm missing a couple years going back to 2005, but see what you think. Memories for some, history suppliments for others. If you have links to any others, let me know and I'll add. I'm only including kickoff videos from when the team takes the field, not other things like Apogee Stadium Intros or NTTV intros. Gotta keep the purists happy. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLADB35B9882095655 Go Mean Green!
  11. Please don't forget about the alumni luncheon with George Dunham next week! Go Mean Green!
  12. Call me naive. I find it VERY hard to believe that as student athletes make their lists of pros/cons in school selection that the decision comes down to how cool the uniform is. If it did, my bet is that the kid doesn't have head right with ball enough to see playing time. Now I'm going to go buy a car. I don't care how fast or powerful it is. Gas mileage and Car & Driver rankings mean nothing to me. Give me a car with a cool paint job. Now your talking.
  13. Plenty of weird people in Denton too. The idea was driven by the shirt mottos, not that either characteristic is a differentiator between the two cities. Just an idea to drum up conversation about the upcoming game (when people ask about the beards) and celebrate follicle freedom. Haters gonna hate. It's not for everyone.
  14. For those playing along, today is the day to start putting the razor aside.
  15. Somebody woke the Aggie faithful up.
  16. Most of you know that the UNT Alumni Association is expanding our involvement and we are making progress. Part of this effort is our UNT Young Professionals Alumni Group, which is a part of the UNT Alumni Association. This group held a luncheon at the Park Cities Club in January of this year, which was their first ever luncheon, with Dr. Smatresk as the speaker, our new UNT President. We had a great turnout with over 125 in attendance. This June 11th event will be their 2nd luncheon. ALL UNT Alumni are invited and encouraged to attend!! The more in attendance the better, and they have more luncheons planned…. The next luncheon is as follows: What: Metroplex Speaker Series presented by the UNT alumni association YP group Where: Edison’s- 1724 Cockrell Ave Dallas, TX 75215 (just south of Downtown Dallas) When: June 11th 2014 11:30am to 1:30pm Who: George Dunham “the voice of the Mean Green”, member of the Morning Musers on Sports radio 1310 the ticket “Dunham & Miller” Morning show, UNT alumni 88’, and former voice of the Dallas Cowboys to name just a few. How: Lunch will be served $25 for UNT alumni association members and $35 for non-members/ tables of 10 available for $250 In order to attend, please register at the following: https://one.unt.edu/events/young-professionals-luncheon For questions, please contact the UNT Alumni Association at 940-565-2834 or alumni@unt.edu. We hope you can support UNT with your attendance or by buying a table. This should be a fun luncheon.
  17. Keep in mind that with the game starting at 11am, it's likely that the game will be over before the high is reached.
  18. ...and vote often.
  19. I'm not sure I get the Buick label they've given him. I mean, he didn't even play during the Dickey era. <sarcasm>
  20. Smeared cake in the face of the victims?
  21. Plus you'll be sitting amongst UT fans instead of fellow Mean Green faithful.
  22. Yep. Keep in mind that he gave Patrick Cobbs a shot too.
  23. Not sure I'm on board with the mindset of separating community from the athletic department, though there seems to be a historical delineation there for UNT. I doubt many in Austin have a problem with UT representing their city. For whatever reason, beards have become a Denton thing. Not sure where the mullets tie in to anything of relevance.
  24. Timing is everything. My fear is that if we pull off a win, history will remember it as a fluke due to a cold start for newly named Texas head coach. They will see it as a poor performance by Texas rather than a good performance by North Texas. I hope I'm wrong.
  25. That wasn't intended. I'm actually not familiar with "Jazzed about Denton".
