UNT Football Watching Party in Plano - BEAT UT!

Good deal! It's right by the train station. Willing to give that another try? -
I love my TWC app. Just used my phone to tell my DVR at home to start recording.

IMO, Beat Texsa is too obscure. Most people are going to see that and think WE misspelled "Texas". Odds of people getting the point of Book 'em Horns are much better, again IMO.

Sounds like a good meeting place for August 29th for those making a weekend out of it. -
I like it. Maybe combined with the longhorn hand gesture and handcuffs hanging off the wrist.

I wonder if Safeway would be interested in sponsoring a trophy.

UNT Football Watching Party in Plano - BEAT UT!

Oh, and please post here if you are thinking of coming -
I've reserved the back room at Vickery Park in Plano for North Texas fans to watch the Mean Green take on UT Austin on Saturday, August 30th. Get there early to get a spot. Once the room fills up, you'll be able to overflow into space available the main bar/dining area. They will have the audio for the game playing throughout the establishment. The room reservation starts at 6pm, kickoff is at 7pm. Vickery Park is located near the intersection of 15th Street and Avenue J in historic downtown Plano, only steps from the downtown Plano DART train stop. They have a large selection of beers (crafts, imports, etc. including Revolver Blood and Honey on tap among others). Drink menu http://vickeryparkbar.com/ NOTE: Don't think you can just drop into any place to see this game. The game is being broadcast on the Longhorn Network, which most places by far don't have (based on my own independent research). Fill this place up and squash any burnt orange out the door!!! Help - Establishments with the Longhorn Network

I've got the back room at Vickery Park in historic downtown Plano booked! I'll create a separate thread. -
As part of the UNT Alumni Association outreach, UNT Athletic Director Rick Villarreal will be speaking at two separate Rotary Club meetings in August (Flower Mound and Frisco). You are more than welcome to join us! All you need to do is show up for lunch at 11:50 or so to sign in, just tell them you are a guest of UNT Alumni Board Member Mike Robnett. The LARGER the crowd the better, we hope to see you there. Flower Mound Rotary Thursday, August 7th at noon, Salerno's Italian, 3407 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound Frisco Rotary, Thursday, August 14th at noon, Dave and Buster's in Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. Thank you.

Help - Establishments with the Longhorn Network
UNT 90 Grad replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
If I remember correctly from the watching party I hosted there for the Southern Miss game, Allen Wickers has DirecTV. They are definitely on my list of possibilities for future games though. I'm going to swing by Vickery Park on my way home from work today to check it out. It's right by the DART train station in downtown Plano, which will make it easier for some to get out there. -

Help - Establishments with the Longhorn Network
UNT 90 Grad replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
Thank you! I was trying to think of the name of that place. I'd looked at having a basketball watching party there on year when we played UT. I'll look into it. I think they had Fios. Thanks again. -
Help - Establishments with the Longhorn Network

Not yet, but I can. -
I'm trying to find a place in Collin County that will host a UNT vs UT watching party. The challenge I've run into is finding a place that carries the Longhorn Network. Man I'd hate to be a Longhorn fan. Everyplace I go has DirecTV, which doesn't offer the Longhorn Network as an option. The Longhorn Network is only carried on AT&T U-Verse, Time Warner Cable, Dish Network, Verizon Fios, Charter and Grande Communications. Buffalo Wild Wings has Time Warner Cable, but has some deal with UFC that night and will be playing the audio from that instead of football. Places I've been to looking: Plano - Buffalo Wild Wings Plano - The Hang Out Plano - Chuy's Allen - Kelly's Allen - Texas Land and Cattle Allen - Game On Allen - Two Rows McKinney - Buffalo Wild Wings McKinney - Razoo's McKinney - Rock Fish McKinney - Saltgrass Steakhouse Anyone have any suggestions of places that you know to carry the Longhorn Network in Collin County? My next shot is going to be Fuzzy's Tacos in Plano. Probably not the best environment for game watching, but I think they have Dish. Maybe they have a way to pipe the audio through the restaurant. The irony here is I'm doing all this searching and I'm actually going to the game. I just want to make sure my Collin County homies are all set up. I do plan to host some watching parties in person later in the season with the usual door prizes, UNT schwag, etc. One thing I've learned: North Texas games appear to be more accessible than Texas games this year.
