  1. I'm upset by Rice in conference opener.
  2. Okay. 24 hours have passed. Time to move on: Join fellow Mean Green fans to watch North Texas take on the Hawkeyes of Iowa on the big screen TVs in the reserved event room at Sauced Wings in Allen (https://www.facebook.com/SaucedWings). Kickoff is at 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 26th. There will be North Texas Alumni items for you along with a drawing for a couple North Texas prizes! Anyone can come to this open and free event. Sauced Wings is located at 610 W. Bethany Drive in Allen (NE corner of US75 Central Expressway and Bethany Drive behind Starbucks). Go Mean Green!! https://www.facebook.com/events/467986416718211/
  3. My bet is that if the sun at halftime was beating in the face of the alumni side and the students were in the shade like we were, the alumni side would have emptied out instead of the students. I don't think we are getting the most out of our alumni resources. I think some would be shocked to see the comparison of the size of our alumni base vs the number of people the University employs to try to get/keep those alums engaged. But then again, if folks look at our current level of alum engagement, maybe it isn't shocking to them and just more of an explanation.
  4. We have situational punters. One is used for distance and the other is used for accuracy.
  5. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. The guy I saw catching Smith's passes didn't have a helmet on (nor baseball cap) and was sporting an upper 2 digit number on his jersey...not Greer.
  6. I specifically saw Smith warming up at the point you mentioned, but not Greer. Greer still had his red cap and vest on. That's not correct. My seats are 9 rows off the field. Smith was warming up right in front of me at the point mentioned above, not Greer.
  7. My quick answer is yes, but I know some also don't like the idea of bringing top teams (like top 10) into our house to potentially have their way with us.
  8. Not just broken. It has a lot of incompletions, some parts of the track are undersized, and often it goes in directions that don't make any sense.
  9. You might be on to something. I know in the past, Mean Green Club employees were required to be donors.
  10. Yes, but I thought it best to hold off on posting a thread on it until the 24 hour rule is over. It'll be at Sauced Wings in Allen. I've reserved the room they have there.
  11. If the Mean Green Club had the website up to date, you could find it here: http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/mg-club/spec-rel/name-recognition.html . Unfortunately, these are last year's donors.
  12. Not sure how you can say that a ball that he managed to get both hands on had zero chance of being caught.
  13. Most of is throws were completions (19/35). Maybe I just don't understand what you mean by "too high tor too low". Too high or low for what? There were some outright drops today too. When I played football, our coach used to say if you can get your hands on the ball, you can catch it. The pick was on Harris not catching the ball and tipping it up in the air. Harris went straight to McNulty after the play to let McNulty know that it was Harris' bad. Was the throw perfect? No, but it's not like the ball was thrown to a defender on that play. I'm not a McNulty fan. I don't think he can get the team where it needs to be. But I also get tired of the exaggerations in here as well as opinions stated as though they are facts. Things are bad enough on their own. I'm not convinced that McNulty isn't our best option at QB right now. I hope Demarcus Smith gets the offense down, not only to help us this year, but so we have something more to look forward to next year.
  14. I enjoyed spending time with fellow Mean Green faithful. I look forward to doing the same next weekend at a watch party.
  15. He was warming up when Rice was about to go up by 4 touchdowns, but when our defense stopped them on 4th down in the red zone, he took is helmet off and put his red cap back on. That's when we had the 93 yard pass play from McNulty to Harris. Looked like they were going to put Smith in for garbage time.
  16. Awesome video.
  17. Amen. And besides, maybe thunderstorms will be the great equalizer. I have cold Bulletproof in the fridge waiting for the drive to Denton tomorrow. GO MEAN GREEN!
  18. Most of you are missing out on advantages of the Mixlr app. I feel an obligation to share this. If you set this up right, you get notified immediately when the GoMeanGreen.com Barbershop Podcast or the Mean Green Nation Podcast takes the air. Adam monitors the Mixlr chat too, so if you have something to comment on during the live MGN podcast, he can see it and respond. Other app users can see it too, similar to the chat room here. (The chat feature works for the gmg podcast too, but Harry and company monitor the gmg chat instead.) Anyway: 1. Go out to your App Store and install the Mixlr app. It's free. 2. Set up an account. You can create one from scratch or choose to login using your Facebook account. There may be other account options too. I can't remember. 3. Select "Listen" and then click the magnifying glass to search. Search for "gomeangreen" and select it. Then touch FOLLOW. Now you'll be following the GoMeanGreen.com Barbershop Podcast. 4. Repeat step 3, but instead this time search for "jostpodcasts". This is the Mean Green Nation podcast. 5. Now, assuming you leave Notifications turned on, you'll be notified anytime either of these podcasts go live. Then you are just a swipe away from listening. To chat during the Mean Green Nation podcast, touch the icon with the 3 horizontal stacked lines. I hope oped this helps you keep up with the live podcasts as much as it helps me. I noticed neither of these have many followers, which makes me think not too many are taking advantage of the app.
  19. Not a knock on D. Smith, but didn't he miss spring camp for academic reasons? It takes some people longer than others to learn, but that doesn't mean his potential isn't higher than others. Give him some time and I think we'll get to see what he's capable of.
