I received a call from a young lady from the women's basketball team. I don't remember her name, but she is sitting out this year because she's a transfer. I thanked her for the hard work they put in as student athletes. We chatted some about the new head coach. I agree with the comment earlier that it's great when you get them off script. Good times. I received a call from Derek Thompson in a previous year. Caught me off guard.

One of my group of 4 bailed on us for the game this coming weekend, so I have an extra ticket. I'll sell it to you for face value ($20). Unfortunately, the ticket office said that due to past problems with shipping tickets, all tickets will be only available at will call. I plan to get there early for some tailgating at the Mean Green Club Tailgate. If you are interested in the ticket, PM me and we'll figure out how to get the ticket to you prior to the game in Ruston.

He can't cross a street without getting locked up, much less a line of scrimmage. Seriously, he produced better catching passes out of the backfield than straight up run plays to my recollection.

NOTE: The North Texas football game against Louisiana Tech is being broadcast on Fox College Sports. This is a little trickier to find than some might think. I know for at least some providers, FCS is part of a sports package that has to be purchased. DirecTV will not sell it to most public establishments. Don't get caught assuming that you will be able to see it at home or at your usual watering hole! Now, if you want to see the game without travelling to Louisiana, Fuzzy's Taco Shop in Allen will have the game on their large screen TVs and will be playing the audio throughout the restaurant. I'm concerned there may not be sufficient footage to overturn it. When the play was reviewed, the response was that the "play stands" rather than "the play was confirmed", which typically means there wasn't sufficient video to confirm or overturn.

Yes, their band came. They were a little annoying, mostly at the first part of the game. It seemed like they were going to be playing and chanting in between each play, but they backed off early on. They played the Ghostbusters song over and over and over, which was a bit annoying. I feared they would have a huge crowd because I felt like I was seeing a lot of them walking in. They had a decent turn out, but this time they seemed to stay in the visitors sections. I didn't have or see any run ins with them. @Christopher Walker pointed out that there were several bastardized versions of our battle flag in the parking lot, in UTKFC colors with their bird head in place of the star. That's annoying too.

I'm "tailgating" in the Alumni Pavillion. Beer is cold and the sausages are pure awesomeness. A good pairing after KingDL's balls I'm sure.

Do we still have the black uni option? I like the back helmet with the black uniform, but not a fan of it with the new green uniform. Just wondering if they've discontinued the black uniform this year.

Thor stands the entire game (or as much as he stays for) on the last row of section 106. The line to present him with beer starts in the walkway immediately behind him. Please try not to block the view of handicap patrons as you wait to provide Thor with birthday beverages.

If it's relatively warm, I'll be wearing my black tshirt that features a black & white image of Scrappy (Scrappy prior to current Scrappy) on the front...possibly with a long sleeved green tshirt underneath. If it's cooler, I may wear a new green sweat shirt I have with an embroidered SOW on the front, "MEAN GREEN" on the back, and NORTH TEXAS on the sleeve. I don't have any black sweat shirts or jackets that would work well.
