  5. He wore a tie, dress shirt and slacks. No suit jacket.
  6. A group of us went with students to Austin last month to lobby for more UNT funding. During session, Springer introduced us from the senate floor and then lifted is pant leg exposing the UNT socks he had on. He also said to the senate chair that he was disappointed that the senator who was over the El Paso area wasn’t there. Apparently they had a friendly bet on the UNT UTEP game and the other senator was supposed to also be wearing UNT socks as I recall.
  7. I hope to see a bunch of you tomorrow night at the McKinney ChopShop Sports Garage!

Cary Lumkes was an avid North Texas alumnus and fan of the Mean Green. He belonged to the Sig Ep Fraternity and graduated in 1994 with a degree in Business and Finance. Cary later became an active and engaged member of the UNT Alumni Association Dallas Chapter Steering Committee while also doing volunteer work for the Collin County Chapter. He was well known among fellow UNT alumni and had an infectious smile and laugh. Cary was also a fan of hockey and frequented Allen Americans hockey games. In addition, he played for the Phantoms amateur hockey team in the Allen Adult Hockey League at the Allen Community Ice Rink. Unfortunately, we lost Cary unexpectedly in April of 2020 at the young age of 54. We honor Cary's memory annually through the UNT Alumni Cary Lumkes Memorial Night at the Allen Americans. Administrators: Cary was a big UNT football fan and that's where many of us know him from. However, please feel free to move this thread to a different forum if you find this inappropriate for the Football forum.

  19. I still haven’t forgiven him for sitting out the bowl game. I understand why he did it, but I’m selfish.
