Position: Running back How acquired: Undrafted free agent, North Texas What he did: He spent the early portions of the season on the practice squad but was called up in October. Dunbar rushed for 75 yards on 21 carries during the season in a backup role. His value increased when DeMarco Murray missed six games with a sprained foot. Dunbar proved to be a player who can do different things -- he caught six passes out of the backfield, averaged 21.8 yards on kick returns and got work on special teams. In the second meeting with the New York Giants, on Oct. 28, Dunbar returned a kick 44 yards. Where he fits in the future: He needs more work in the passing game, especially in picking up the blitz, but it seems the Cowboys want to keep him around more than Phillip Tanner, the other backup running back. Dunbar has good speed and vision and seems to hit holes faster than Tanner. He will compete, possibly with Tanner in training camp, to be Murray's backup. The Rangers will be fine this coming season and have enough talent on the field to go win the west. Young had to go, we had no room for him. So all we have to do is replace a guy that would have been sitting on the bench most of the time anyways. Kinsler will be the new leader of this team and will do a fine job. Short term not having Hamilton hurts us but overall we get around it. No way he last the full 5 years of the contract IMO and I am glad it wasn't us giving him 5 years at that price. Like mentioned above, this team isn't done and its a long way to the trade deadline for 2013. We will get something done to help improve the ball club, but it doesn't have to be anything blockbuster. Also look for Murphy to step up and be a leader and great everyday player.

Funny how a lot of people were worried about Benford being a one and done like Karen Aston was here at UNT... guess we aren't worried about that anymore.

I'm not necessarily against Texas State. I have been down there many times for work and seen what they have done plus I have many friends that went to school there so I would love to create a football rivalry with them. But maybe you replace Rice or UTEP or UTSA with them. My problem is with the number of Texas schools, not necessarily what school it is. I'd bet we would have a much better rivalry with Texas State over say Rice.

No. I know I am almost alone in my opinion on this but I have zero interest in playing in an all Texas league or division. Two other Texas school, maybe three, fine. Those can make good rivals and Texas is big enough to do that. But four, five, or six schools...? Might as well create Conference Texas, get UTA and UT Tyler and any other UT whatever going in football and have one big glorified high school football league. I have no interest in that and am pretty sure there would be no interest in that on a national level. I want my school to be known nationally.
