Larry Mac Duff Will Be Nt's Next Dc
Censored by Laurie replied to SouthBendGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm just venturing the guess that this post went right over the head of most on here and thus did not get the love it deserves...well played sir. -
It really is a weak effort on both our parts...maybe jobs are actually starting to take priority at work...point god forbid. Plus it was waxed...kinda painful but it lasts so much longer. I could handle being tied down at gun and knife point...but this bitch takes the crazy cake and appearantly eats said cake as well

Who Should Td Hire As The Next Defensive Coordinator
Censored by Laurie replied to Eagle-96's topic in Mean Green Football
I didn't actually think this was a possibility...I'm just a Michigan fan and just the thought of a former UM coach coming to UNT gets my happy pants going crazy. -

Mean Green Vs. Troy (1/3/08)
Censored by Laurie replied to chrisfisher's topic in Mean Green Basketball
We lost this game for one reason...rebounding. We're the best rebounding team in the conference, yet we lost the total rebounding margin by 11 (54-43) and even more disturbing we got doubled up on the offensive glass (26-13)...hell...that means we almost lost the rebounding game on their end...Troy with 26 offensive rebounds, UNT with 30 defensive rebounds. Unexceptable -
If they were considering former TV analysts why not turn to one of their own alumni? Craig James I bet he could recruit well given his experiences.

4 minutes...it took you 4 minutes. thats impressive

Ummm...if this is our frontcourt rotation next season we are in big trouble (ha...theres a pun I didn't even intend!). Stewart and Hogans aren't big enough for starting minutes at the 4...Howerton has shown at best mediocre improvement in his time here and I don't have expectations that he's going to turn a corner anytime soon...and Knox is considered a project and probably won't contribute much next season. I would love for us to find a freshman like Myles Walker (6'9" 250) or Antuan Bootle (6'7" 245)...but more than likely I think we'll have to go the JUCO route to find someone who will be able to contribute immediatly...maybe a Michael DeGrate type with 2 more inches and 20 more pounds.

I agree entirely...I just look at what we've done in terms of developing post players under JJ and Quincy Williams is the poster boy for success...a great rebounder and defender but limited elsewhere. Now if he rounds out this class with Chris Babb, Myles Walker and Troy Alexander decided he wants to stay close to home rather than go to Santa Clara...life is grand.

My New Year 08 is off to a MUCH better start than 07. I'm so happy to see Lloyd Carr go out with a win...he is an incredibly classy man who has represented the college program I grew up loving (and damn...I dred the first UM / UNT national championship game...I may have to go gay split jersey that night) with the utmost dignity.

Well...since this is a Mean Green bias blog I think you need to look closer...I've italicized the key words.

Wait...who's visiting with Parcells next week? or Guy doesn't see the field for a 2-10 college team but the Dolphins want to give him a look...they are in bad shape

Western Kentucky Vs. Troy

WKU has under-achieved with Horn and Lee...and I haven't seen anything this season that leads me to believe that it will be any different this March. The team to really watch now is South Alabama...Auburn transfer Daniel Hayles isn't scoring, but he's a great defender and rebounder...they have enough up front to defend good post players (see UNT) and one hell of a backcourt. Also...UALR may be coming back down to Earth...and great news for UNT is that Denver keeps winning, (they scored 54 points and won by 10...Joe Scott is getting his system in place and the 8 kids that are actually playing seem to be buying into it. By the end of the year I don't think a December loss in Denver is going to hurt as much as we think it does now.) -
Just sit back and appreciate history and greatness...New England is the sports capital of the U.S. right now - the BoSox will be on top of baseball for the rest of the century (God willing), the Celtics will actually finally make the NBA finals interesting (save for Dick Bevetta dishing out 20 assists in the last 3 games of the 06 Finals), and even the Bruins have a winning record (though they're still in 4th place in their own division). The league and the networks would be "sucking up" to anytime about to go undefeated...they did it when the Colts threatened a few years back...its one hell of an accomplishment. As for Brady's personal life...his split with Bridgette was very messy and well-publicized and well before the pregnancy announcement. You think that kid is going to want for anything in his life? Brady will be there to help raise him...but to suggest that those two ought be together b/c they're having a kid is stupid...that kid would be so f'd up and angry at both parents.

The band has always been a very under-appreciated and disconnected member of the Pit Crew...I've been at games with about 5 people in the student section and the band always seems to pick up the heckling slack. I'm sure the members have changed, but it was always the same core of guys there...anchored by the fake ?uestlove keepin time on the drum kit.

Birdhouse is in his soul...though I appreciate the vague TMBG reference

It took him 22 years and a match-up with Gerald Henderson to "meet his match"?!?!?!?! That kid has some serious problems...hes been at best a third option on every team he's ever been on until now...even High School the ball was better suited in the hands of the Langford brothers or Evan Rischer. He'll find a pro gig somewhere very, very cold...I hope he understands the exchange rate better than he understands how to break a zone defense.

UNT 92 gave me the Mean Green merkin that I'm sporting right now... ...though I fear its the wrong color green.
