Stars Major Trade
Censored by Laurie replied to filmerj's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
This is a hell of a deal for the Stars. Richards was the one player who would come in here and "fit." He plays both ends and will be a nice addition to an already outstanding special teams. He's gonna cost considerably...but Cups (ok, second rounds) cost money. Add to that the Stars can nab Holmqvist, who's 20-16 with a 3.01 GAA this season, to replace Mike Smith who was going to be the most appealing trade piece...thats salty. I love Jussi, but all he's consistantly shown is an ability to win shootouts. Great move by the Stars -
Strongly considering the same. I bought a month of Western Kentucky's equivilent so I could watch WKU/USA...its cheaper than MGP...actually works...and each WKU basket isn't followed by a super slo mo replay. Really frusterating that MG Premium is in the state it is.

Njit Goes 0-29

There closest game was a 9 point loss at Lehigh. Every other game they lost by double figures. -
We can play what ifs all day...its those 13 kids in green who need to focus in on the Cajuns. I think/hope ULL's youth is catching up to them...a more experienced team protects their home court better when they know a title is on the line. ULL's loss now means that we have to become big time Denver and ULM fans...losing streaks eventually have to end and UD and UALR both like to slow it down which should keep things close...and ULM played WKU pretty well last night. I'd say become Troy fans just in case, but I really think that MTSU's loss was a bit of a fluke...65 free throws shot, MTSU gets 22 and FAU gets 43? FAU hit 36, 14 more than MTSU attempted. SBC refs are the absolute worst, save Stevie Wilmer. I'm hoping that if we do win the tourney that our conference getting a second bid (or atleast should) would kick us up to a 13 or 14...and also depending on who we play (USA and WKU) I imagine our RPI should jump considerably if we win out.

Best Nt Basketball Players
Censored by Laurie replied to GrandGreen's topic in Mean Green Basketball
You know Jermaine is one of the top players in his French(?, not 100% sure, so lets just go European) league? I heard he's worked on his hops and is absolutley explosive now. If I get an amendment for a glue guy though, I gotta go with Rich Young...he was probably my all time favorite player here and one of the nicest that I've come across. -

I can only do an all Johnny Jones team...but give me Isaac Hines on the ball, Kendrick Davis at the 2, Chris Davis at the 3, Michael DeGrate at the 4 and even if he was a headcase, give me Shawnson Johnson at the 5. Off the bench Ben Bell to back up Isaac, Calvin Watson and the very underrated Lee Green on the wing and then Quincey Williams and Will Smith to add some toughness and pull boards up front. And Micah Bracy is on the all-walk on team by himself. -

No...I'm gonna continue to have fun at Michael Sturns expense. JJ would be supportive of my efforts to get to the NBA as well. I've known Sturns since H.S....and based on that I think I'll stick with the players analysys who felt he should just go ahead and forget about the NBA and maybe take a practical look at his life. He'll be able to find a place in Europe (which given the opportunity, I would take over the NBA in a heartbeat) and maybe even be successful there...but he doesnt have the shot, handle, athleticism or most importantly the head to be an NBA player. If his former H.S. teammate Keith Langford, who was a star for 4 years at Kansas, has managed only a couple of 10 day contracts and has a work ethic that would make Sturns look like Oliver Miller...I'm sorry but Sturns wouldn't make it through an NBA training camp. He's 6'4"-6'5" and he has difficulty dunking...find me another NBA player with a similar build with similar "athleticism" -
Of all of our obscure repartay...this might just very well be my favorite...well played. I was not making reference to THAT Wes Welker...that one is a hard worker with a surprisingly small 'appetite'
-
I'm assuming recman is Wilson...its a good thing I'm a ways away if thats your star. I'd be Wes Welker-ing all over the field. Lunchpail included.

These stories just continue to crack me up... -
Despite inconsistant play all season, we still have a very legitimate chance at securing the number 2 overall position for the SBC tournament...but we do need some help. At this point, we need to win out...we have a home game against Arkansas State and finish with two tough games on the road at ULL and New Orleans...and looking at the remaining schedules of this tightly packed West division, I think 11-7 in conference is going to be the neccessary record. UD - Denver is essentially done. They finally lost at home last night, dropping them to 7-8. They have a home game against UNO and finish with two games on the road...where they haven't won in their last 27 tries. The Pioneers have been playing with 6 guys for the past month and fatigue has got to be catching up...I think they finish 7-11. UNO - Denver is still a tough place to go, and UNO has to make that trip Saturday...if they can pull out a win there, they get to travel to Mobile next Thursday to play USA...so at best a 1-1 road trip...then they finish at home with UNT...and the Mean Green are well overdue. Finish 8-10 UALR & ULL - These two teams get together Saturday in Lafayette...and we NEED ULL to win this game. On the surface, that may not make much sense with ULL at 9-6 and UALR at 8-7...but if UALR wins, they finish at home with Denver and then on the road at UL-Monroe...the team we just absolutely demoralized...if UALR wins out and finishes 11-7 they would hold the tie-break on us...I'd feel much better not having to count on UD or ULM to play spoiler. A ULL win moves them to 10-6...they follow that with home games with UNT and Denver...once we beat ULL and they beat Denver and we beat UNO...both of us would finish 11-7 in conference, but we would hold the tie break having beaten them twice...this is our best scenerio...so Go...oops...Geaux Cajuns. Oh...and if we don't secure the 2 seed...we're looking at the 5 or 6 seed. USA should be the 1, West champ the 2, WKU the 3...and they get the byes...MTSU has two games left (@FAU, vs. Troy) so at worst they'll finish 11-7 and they have the tie break on UNT, ULL and UALR. If UALR wins out they'll get the 2...and our game with ULL would determine the 5 or 6 spot (I believe if ULL wins they'll hold the next tie break, division record, but don't hold me to that). If ULL wins out they get the 2...we'd finish with the same record as UALR and get the 6. Should be a very exciting last week and a half to the SBC season.

7718...Diddle's official capacity is 7500 -
And BTW...eBay has a ton of old football media guides and yearbooks for anyone interested

The NTSTC decal is awesome. I wish I would've seen it when the auction was still open...I would love to have that. You people who get bent out of shape when someone mentions any of our previous names, nicknames or mascots really need to learn how to appreciate the history of UNT...its something to be proud of and embrace, not turn your back on.

They actually expanded the capacity of Diddle for this game...they added some 300 standing room only tickets, and they had nearly 20 pro scouts at the game. Great night for the Sun Belt Conference -

USA gonna pull this one out...which means they should all but have the top spot of the tourney locked up on their home floor...a repeat dance trip is gonna be difficult for us...but certainly not impossible. 69-64 final. -

59-58 USA...WKU took their first lead of the half...hopefully these officials let them play for the last 4 minutes and the game isnt won or lost on the line. Turnovers have been killing the Jags. Neither Lee nor Bennett can hit a jumper
