  1. I think the Lord would support your endevour to support your beloved Mean Green...or maybe bring the church crowd to the Pit
  2. That theory can not be proven
  3. And there is always the possibility FAU pulls an upset over WKU. If we lose to UNO and FAU wins, we'd get the 8 seed. Thats a home game with Denver and a quarterfinal game against USA.
  4. I once had a basketball team with a similar pronounciation. Laurie censored it...and thus I was born. Welcome home
  5. Just trying to put a positive spin on things here...stop being a negative nancy
  6. Say what you want...Justin Willis is a very talented athlete and has set SMU's career passing touchdown record in just 2 seasons. He's also a Denton kid...and perhaps bringing him closer to home could help him with his personal problems and anger issues. If Willis' days are over at SMU...he will find a team elsewhere willing to take a risk on him...why not us? Even if Gio and Riley have the QB position on lock there is nothing wrong with adding competition...or finding Willis a new position like WR or Safety. And it'd be a big middle finger to SMU...you know...if he succeeds here. Thoughts?
  7. I think someone else mentioned this...but it looks like it would be most adventagous for us to secure the 5 or 7 seed, rather than the 6. We can still get the 5...we would need to beat UNO and have ULL lose at home to Denver (0 for their last 28 on the road...again...its bound to end sometime, right?)...we would have identical records with ULL, split the season series, but we would have a better winning percentage in the West division (UNT 7-4, ULL 7-5...SBC scheduling is ridiculuous). The five seed would have us playing probably Troy at home in the opening round...with a quarterfinal matchup with MTSU...but then USA If we both win, ULL and UNT...and assuming UALR and MTSU win...ULL would get the 5, we'd get the 6...get a home game with ASU...but a quarterfinal matchup with Western Kentucky. The 7 seed almost seems like the best route. We would get an opening round home game against FIU...and a quarterfinal matchup with UALR. UALR is at best the 4th best team in the conference...and I don't even think they're that good. If we would get past UALR...we'd be set up with a semi-final game against WKU...and it would probably feel like a home game with the South Alabama crowd behind us. We'd get the 7 seed by losing to UNO and WKU beating FAU I'm certainly not suggesting we play to lose against UNO...just that if it happens it may not be a terrible thing
  8. I know we won our last three games there until last night
  9. hey for you chris...anything
  10. Heres what I could find without having to pay for a subscription to rivals or jucojunction. James Cotton - 6'8" 200 - Rise Academy is a prep school like Tristan Thompson attended after his senior year...so Cotton will still have 4 years of eligibility. According to hoopscoops.com, Cotton is their 74th best "fifth year player." Also on the list is PG prospect Cardell McFarland at #29 and FIU signee Freddy Aspirrila at #56. The five players rated after Cotton (75-79) have all signed - UPENN, Fordham, High Point, Bucknell and Drake Chad Thompson - 6'3" - Wasn't able to find much on Thompson...he went for 28 in Moberly's last regular season game, doubling up their second leading scorer...so it may be safe to assume he's their leading scorer. Moberly finished 15-16 on the season. 2 years of eligibility Eric Trammiel - 6'7" 225 - Found even less on Tramiel past his build and that he has 2 years of eligibility remaining The next 3 players all play at Mineral Area College...this is the same school from which JJ landed Curtis Muse and Johnathon Jackson. Marquis Young - 6'9" 290 - Massive. Originally signed with Ole Miss after being named All State in Illinois out of H.S. Played 10 games in 2005-2006 for the Rebels, averaged 0.7 ppg, 1.3 rpg in 4.3 minutes of action (its unrealistic to do so...but if he played 30 minutes per game...those stats would be 4.9 ppg, 9.1 rpg) Went 2-7 from the field, 3-6 from the line in his Ole Miss career. Describes himself as funny, smart and LAZY (290 could turn into 330 quickly)...but his favorite athlete is Dirk...so I like him. 2 years of eligibility remaining Barry Wellington - 6'0 170 - Desrcibed as a combo guard (think Dez Willingham). Finished the 2006-2007 season with 6.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.1 spg; shot 42.5% from 3 and a paltry 67.4% from the line. Has 2 years of eligibility remaining Marcus Scott - 6'4" 220 - Signed with DII Lewis University out of H.S. Played at nationally ranked Provisio H.S. where he average 17.5 points per game. 2 years of eligibility remaining Its not too detailed...but again Im cheap and wont buy rivals
  11. Now this looks like fun... 1. College Basketball 2. NBA Basketball 3. Red Sox vs. Yankee games 4. All other Major League Baseball 5. College Football 6. English Premiership Soccer 7. World Cup Soccer 8. All other Soccer 9. Golf Tournaments with Tiger in contention; Ryder Cup; Presidents Cup 10. NFL Football 11. Semis and Finals of a Major Tennis tourney 12. All other Golf 13. Hockey 14. Curling -every four years I want to start a curling team 15. Darts and now looking at this...lets go ahead and flip 2 and 3...I'd rather watch a Sox/Yanks game than even a Mavs/Spurs game
  12. Maybe in Mobile they'll have an under 16 timeout 3 point shooting contest like the old days. We'll see how "back" that jumper is.
  13. You realize that this is physical activity, right?
  14. This is a hell of a deal for the Stars. Richards was the one player who would come in here and "fit." He plays both ends and will be a nice addition to an already outstanding special teams. He's gonna cost considerably...but Cups (ok, second rounds) cost money. Add to that the Stars can nab Holmqvist, who's 20-16 with a 3.01 GAA this season, to replace Mike Smith who was going to be the most appealing trade piece...thats salty. I love Jussi, but all he's consistantly shown is an ability to win shootouts. Great move by the Stars
  15. Strongly considering the same. I bought a month of Western Kentucky's equivilent so I could watch WKU/USA...its cheaper than MGP...actually works...and each WKU basket isn't followed by a super slo mo replay. Really frusterating that MG Premium is in the state it is.
  16. There closest game was a 9 point loss at Lehigh. Every other game they lost by double figures.
  17. We can play what ifs all day...its those 13 kids in green who need to focus in on the Cajuns. I think/hope ULL's youth is catching up to them...a more experienced team protects their home court better when they know a title is on the line. ULL's loss now means that we have to become big time Denver and ULM fans...losing streaks eventually have to end and UD and UALR both like to slow it down which should keep things close...and ULM played WKU pretty well last night. I'd say become Troy fans just in case, but I really think that MTSU's loss was a bit of a fluke...65 free throws shot, MTSU gets 22 and FAU gets 43? FAU hit 36, 14 more than MTSU attempted. SBC refs are the absolute worst, save Stevie Wilmer. I'm hoping that if we do win the tourney that our conference getting a second bid (or atleast should) would kick us up to a 13 or 14...and also depending on who we play (USA and WKU) I imagine our RPI should jump considerably if we win out.
  18. You know Jermaine is one of the top players in his French(?, not 100% sure, so lets just go European) league? I heard he's worked on his hops and is absolutley explosive now. If I get an amendment for a glue guy though, I gotta go with Rich Young...he was probably my all time favorite player here and one of the nicest that I've come across.
  19. OK..well played sir
  20. I can only do an all Johnny Jones team...but give me Isaac Hines on the ball, Kendrick Davis at the 2, Chris Davis at the 3, Michael DeGrate at the 4 and even if he was a headcase, give me Shawnson Johnson at the 5. Off the bench Ben Bell to back up Isaac, Calvin Watson and the very underrated Lee Green on the wing and then Quincey Williams and Will Smith to add some toughness and pull boards up front. And Micah Bracy is on the all-walk on team by himself.
  21. No...I'm gonna continue to have fun at Michael Sturns expense. JJ would be supportive of my efforts to get to the NBA as well. I've known Sturns since H.S....and based on that I think I'll stick with the players analysys who felt he should just go ahead and forget about the NBA and maybe take a practical look at his life. He'll be able to find a place in Europe (which given the opportunity, I would take over the NBA in a heartbeat) and maybe even be successful there...but he doesnt have the shot, handle, athleticism or most importantly the head to be an NBA player. If his former H.S. teammate Keith Langford, who was a star for 4 years at Kansas, has managed only a couple of 10 day contracts and has a work ethic that would make Sturns look like Oliver Miller...I'm sorry but Sturns wouldn't make it through an NBA training camp. He's 6'4"-6'5" and he has difficulty dunking...find me another NBA player with a similar build with similar "athleticism"
  22. Of all of our obscure repartay...this might just very well be my favorite...well played. I was not making reference to THAT Wes Welker...that one is a hard worker with a surprisingly small 'appetite'
  23. I'm assuming recman is Wilson...its a good thing I'm a ways away if thats your star. I'd be Wes Welker-ing all over the field. Lunchpail included.
  24. These stories just continue to crack me up...
