The UNT golf team gets free run of Lantana (or atleast it did when I was in school)...and thats only about 10-15 minutes south of campus...and considerably more appealing and challanging than Eagle Point could ever be.

I don't think McCoy ever enrolled...but I believe Curtis Muse did. Rich Young also cost us...and I think it dates back closely enough, but I don't believe that Shawnson Johnson ever graduated...which would still effect the tail end of the 4 year average this ridiculous system is based on

No...they have a much longer history of it...around 1300 years now. And if you want to be more modern...how about making an entire Muslim nation disappear? The root cause of nearly all of Middle Eastern turmoil was the abortion of a job the West did in creating Israel and its 60 years of blind support and arms backing of Israel...despite the fact the attrocities committed by the Mossad and the israeli Defense Force are on par with any P.L.O. or "terrorist" action.

Based on this one study? I'm sure you can come up with more...as I can come up with plenty of studies to refute it. If you pay attention...the scientific community presents Global Warming as a theory...much like evolution. It takes more than one study...and more than one years worth of data to either prove or dispell a theory. Unfortunantly in our A.D.D. society our "news outlets" have 1 minute tops to present a story before Dad wants to watch Cinemax, Mom wants to know about Britney Spears and 'lil Johnny wants to play Grand Theft Auto...so they leave out the fact that this is theory and present it as either...oh, I don't know the best words...fantasy or reality? Yeah...those work. And lets say, for arguments sake...b/c I know we both love it...that Global Warming and Man-Made Climate Change turn out to be complete lunacy...what are the average (there are extremists of all walks of life) environmentalists really asking of you? Buy those curly-q florescent light bulbs? If feasible, drive a hybrid or use public transportation...or atleast take steps to ensure your cars emmissions are reduced? Recycle? Or on a larger scale...don't cut down all the rainforest...destroying both human and animal habitat AND a significant portion of our oxygen supply (unless its also fantasy that plants emit oxygen)? Continue to explore alternative and cleaner (wind, solar, water) energy sources? I'm about to get a "allow the market to dictate change" arguement, aren't I?

Pre Season Rankings & Reviews

Are they just counting down the bottom 20 or all 120 teams...I ask b/c I can think of two "tide related nicknames" -
The bigotry of this board astounds me more and more every day...fear and ignorance are two amazing drugs. From the article: "Hurd earlier spent some time student teaching at Talahi Community School, where he said his experience was good. He told the newspaper Somali students there even petted his dog, although they used paper to keep their hands from actually making physical contact." What occured at the second school is very disappointing...but this writer over-stepped the morays of objective journalism and wrote with a clear agenda rooted...once again...in bigotry, fear and ignorance. It's ridiculous to make an indictment of an entire religion, race or ethnic background based on the actions of one high school student...or maybe it is logical: All white kids who wear hoodies are killers Black wrestlers are murderers The Few, The Proud, The Rapists Seriously people...there needs to come some point where you realize that this "War" (and ohhh man are those quotations neccesary) is a political one...not a religous one. To you Christians...perhaps you ought to expirement in actually following the word of Christ and atleast feign an effort at tolerance and understanding

The one thing you may be missing here is the fact that our BEST player is one of these players. Other than that rarity...and there will be an obligatory Chris Hurd post as well...I agree with you that this is not a significant penalty. And no where near as painful as the one levied on the hoops team

I don’t know what to say, really. Three minutes till the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Now either we heal as a team or we’re gonna crumble, inch by inch, play by play, 'til we’re finished. We’re in hell right now, gentlemen, believe me. And, we can stay here -- get the shit kicked out of us -- or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell one inch at a time. Now, I can’t do it for you. I’m too old. I look around. I see these young faces, and I think -- I mean -- I made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I pissed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who’s ever loved me. And lately, I can’t even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know, when you get old in life things get taken from you. I mean that's...part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out life’s this game of inches. So is football. Because in either game, life or football, the margin for error is so small -- I mean one-half a step too late, or too early, and you don’t quite make it. One-half second too slow, too fast, you don’t quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch, because we know when we add up all those inches that’s gonna make the fuckin' difference between winning and losing! Between livin' and dyin'! I’ll tell you this: In any fight, it’s the guy who’s willing to die who’s gonna win that inch. And I know if I’m gonna have any life anymore, it’s because I’m still willin' to fight and die for that inch. Because that’s what livin' is! The six inches in front of your face!! Now I can’t make you do it. You got to look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes! Now I think you’re gonna see a guy who will go that inch with you. You're gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows, when it comes down to it, you’re gonna do the same for him! That’s a team, gentleman! And, either we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That’s football guys. That's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do?

You sir are quickly ascending my list of favorite posters -
This thread...much like the historic and storied rivalry...will never die. Other things that won't die: Mosquitos in Houston, bluetooth douchebags, conservatives, Britney Spears stories masquarding as news, McDreamy, fast food, bad drivers, crying teenage girls at American Idol, American Idol, people who laugh after everyone of their bad jokes, Jim Rome, Stuart Scott, Jim Rome and Stuart Scott's illegitimate child Stephen A. Smith, the entire ESPN college basketball broadcast team, Fouts Field, Detroit Red Wings, Andy Warhol, our women's shoe collections and literally Dick Clark. Oh...and also the admins not shutting down pointless and boarderline embarrassing threads...not a direct shot...more a passive aggressive suggestion

I can't believe any of you would try and piss on this article...this is nothing but amazing national publicity for our school...a school that very few outside a 200 mile radius of DFW have never heard of...living in the Northeast I've run across about 1 in 100 who have some knowledge of UNT when I tell them where I went to school and thats mostly for the music program. Denton turning into the next Austin...especially the Austin of 10-15 years ago would be the absolute best thing that could happen to our town...and I love that the Industrial Street area is taking up the slack following the city's raping of Fry Street. I am afraid that the town will find a way to screw this up...much like the city government of Austin is trying...but for now those in the area need to take advantage of the burgeoning music and cultural scene...and I'll look with even more anticipation to my future visits. And if you are looking for a great Denton band...Midlake...their 2006 release The Trials of Van Occupanther was considered a Top 10 release of the year by Paste Magazine and garnered lots of accolades from many Indie music publications and music blogs

So if I am to interpret this correctly...you're saying yes to helmet stickers? I think they look tacky on a green helmet.
