I like Kanaskie's game a lot and feel he is the best playmaker, and maybe best shooter in the conference, but I felt he is going to be sharing the ball and minutes a lot this season...and the only boarderline 1st teamer, Dykes, won't be. I debated back and forth about TT and Adam...I wouldn't mind TT starting and Adam being a spark plug off the bench, but I'm hoping for really big things from Adam, to the point where you almost can't keep him outof the starting 5. Perhaps that call was optimism. The West is deep...I picked ULL b/c they gave the confernce hell last season with a bunch of guards playing in their first college seasons (Diagle, Gary and 2 others were grayshirt sophmores...while Bureau and Gradnigo were true freshmen.) and essentially no inside talent. They added 4 guys 6'8" or better, 3 with D-1 experience at Houston, UNLV and USC. When I originally wrote this up, I had ASU in the top spot...I think 1-4 in the West is essentially a toss up.

CBL is confused as he has never written for Tina...though he does enjoy TyMat B's mid-season reports and especially his live Sun Belt Conference tournament coverage and waits with baited anticipation to peruse those once again this season.

So the baseball thread kinda broke down into a discussion of team affiliations...and I thought that it was an interesting enough topic to start up a thread and find out where people's loyalties lie...and more importantly why. So mine: Baseball - Boston Red Sox - as was stated in the other thread I spent all my childhood summers an hour out of Boston, Fenway was the first place I ever saw a game and that place is basically my Mecca. NBA - Dallas Mavericks - pure bandwagon...I'd love to play it off but I only started caring about the Mavs when they were running Nellie ball with Nashty and Dirk..and I had the same sort of mystique-laden backround for hoops too because I've seen 4 or 5 games at the Boston Garden when the Celts had Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parrish, Dennis Johnson and the remarkably, almost unnaturally, energetic and quick Reggie Lewis (poor taste?) Hockey - Hershey Bears, Dallas Stars - I lived in the Harrisburg area of PA in elementary school and I listend to damn near every Hershey Bears AHL game on the radio...got to go to 2 or 3...and I kinda supported the Hartford Whalers as a kid (I have a soft spot for teams that sucked). I moved to Texas a few years before the Stanley Cup championship, but find myself only paying attention to hockey once the Stars get past the first round NFL - Don't care, my fantasy team (which even then I have occasional apathy) College sports - UNT, Michigan - I was born in Michigan and grew up around Maize and Blue my entire life...still haven't been to a game at the Big House...its been a tough college football year for me. Premiership - West Ham United - Green Street Hooligans...watch it Women's Division III Lacrosse - Endicott College - my cousin's on the team...its really my family's only claim to sports fame

Baseball Fans

I spent all my summers as a kid in southern Mass...about an hour south of Boston. First place I ever saw a game was Fenway...I remember my first Yankee/Red Sox game was a pitching match-up between crazy Melido Perez and a young up and comer named Aaron Sele...I asked a Yankee fan in Boston Beer Works if he brought a gun with him. Mike Greenwell was my mustacheod over-achieving white guy sports man crash. I was on board when Sox brass said we could let Wade Boggs go b/c Scott Cooper and Tim Naehring would hold down third base for the next 15 years. I thought John Valentin was a sure fire hall of famer after he turned an unassisted triple play. I also remember a time when the closest thing to an Irishman on the Sox roster was Troy O'Leary. -
World Series

The next baseball game I will watch will be Tampa Bay's home opener next season when they raise the World Series banner in front of 12,000 fans. -
Wow...I actually liked something you posted...well written and logical... I was kinda hoping you'd offer to fight him though...we could set it up for a halftime show at the new stadium. Be careful...he is in training.

Can we please divert this thread back towards professor talk...I liked the direction it was heading and felt it had some very nice potential.

Your tickers were kinda shaky today.

That must've been why all the ninjas have been around recently.

So you're saying that they might leave the ship of the anti-stadium crowd...like maybe leap, hop or spring off...like certain nefarious rodents might?

Seriously...hot.

Waterless urinal? Kettle corn stand? Generator? Maybe RV could put together a half time tribute video for Flyer?
