  1. And it was. One female boxer who was 40-9 for her career beating one who was slightly better than .500. and now apparently Algerian Tyson is gonna go fight again…for a BRONZE. elevated testosterone does not equate to being trans. I’m open to having a real conversation around where trans-athletes can be allowed to participate (although I gotta say the premise that a person would go through years of therapies and possible assignment surgery just to win a mid-tier Olympic sport medal seems pretty ridiculous) instead we’re now dealing with this culture war bullshit and the work, career and possibly safety of this athlete have now all been tarnished/risked so that someone like @ADLER can post an inflammatory thread like this and pretend to give a shit about women and/or women’s sports…while also being sure to sneak in some now edited Kamala racism. you edit that yourself or did a mod quietly ask you too?
  2. this one got quiet real quick. it's like everyone backed down as fast as an Italian boxer.
  3. I wonder if her 9 losses were to even bigger men. when she lost in the Quarterfinals of the 2020 games, did men then sweep the medal stand? gosh...and when you really think about it, I wonder how pervasive this really is...like, do y'all think Marvis Frazier, Robert Colay, Lou Savarese, Clifford Etienne were actually born biologically female?!?! wow...makes you think.
  4. so now women CAN have control over their bodies? jeez, dude, pick a lane already.
  5. You think this “started” on October 7th? Wild opinion, bruh
  6. like maybe those intimately affected might feel that 30,000 dead women and children could be considered an act of terrorism?
  7. one of the most shockingly ironic statements ever.
  8. absolutely nothing, per the US Supreme Court: Under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of Presidential power entitles a former President to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority. And he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts. wonder if he'll take another shot at Trump
  9. until you support universal health care, mandatory maternity/paternity leave, affordable access to child care, affordable access to prescription drugs, a living wage, and all of the infrastructure needed to raise a child you don't get to call yourself "pro-life".
  10. I don't fake for digital hugs. the only accolade I ever give out is a +Ray for exceptional content (sooo...they're rare)
  11. I heard she’s gonna try to make abortions available up to 36 weeks after pregnancy. Interesting 🤔
  12. I'm pretty fascinated by @Rudy's Washington insider contacts...
  13. from just one quick Google search...a feature of computers I believe that is available to everyone and a far more reliable source than one's memory of 17 years ago: 1/23/07 - Is Obama qualified? Don't ask Hillary (Salon) 7/31/08 - Is Barack Obama Qualified to Be President? (US News) 3/07/07 - Is Obama all style and little substance? (NBC) 12/9/07 - Barack Obama is Too Young to be President (NY Daily News) 4/30/08 - Obama’s Inexperience, McCain’s Age and Clinton’s Honesty (Roll Call) not sure what Roll Call is, but I included the last one bc it made me chuckle that we were wondering if then 71/72 year old John McCain was too old to be president. it was a better time. this quick search also was a lovely reminder of the prevalence of the "is that black man with the funny name even American?!?!" question of Obama's eligibility.
  14. O’Brien’s speech was initially met with enthusiastic cheers as he talked about the criticism he’ll face from the left for addressing the RNC, but cheers and applause eventually slowed when he spoke of workers being fired for trying to join unions and “economic terrorism” by big corporates.
  15. oh I know...but let's revisit that too: - Alcorn State: 14 mins, 7 points (3-3 FG, 1-2 FT), 3 rebounds - Sam Houston: 14 mins, 0 points (0-1 FG), 1 rebound, 1 block - Oklahoma State: 35 mins, 12 points (6-9 FG), 15 rebounds - Wisconsin: 28 mins, 7 points (3-4 FG, 1-2 FT), 6 rebounds - UAB: 34 min, 6 points (3-4 FG), 9 rebounds, 1 block NIT Stat Line: 25min/game, 6.4ppg (71%FG, 50%FT), 6.8rpg, 0.4bpg without OSU Game: 22.5min/game, 5.0ppg (75%FG, 50%FT), 4.8rpg, 0.4bpg 23'-24' State Line: 16.2min/game, 3.0ppg (49%FG, 53%FT), 4.6rpg, 0.2bpg that OSU game is such an outlier...it's his only career double-double and 12 and 15 are both his career highs for his entire career, including Dayton, Sissoko has cracked double figures in scoring 3 other times...once as a Sophomore at Dayton v. App St (12), and twice last season v. Omaha (10) and MVSU (10). he's done it rebounding one other time, last season v. Wichita State (11). I like Sissoko...I think he works hard, seems like a good kid, his teammates seem to like him...but he also is what he is, a max 5 and 5 guy who should probably be a reserve big...and save for a pretty magic three game stretch and one game in particular, that is all he has ever been.
