  1. these two things are not the same. a scoreless Walker is still a major contributor...he slashes, he rebounds, he play-makes...he's just not a scorer. no one is ignoring Walker in the flow of the offense, maybe just no need for a hard close-out if he's taking a late clock 3. Stone isn't right now. those 40 boards in the last 5 games...Stone has 42 for the season. he get's left b/c he's clearly lacking confidence. you know what I would love? a Stone 0-7 shooting performance...at least I'd know he didn't just play hot potato after he missed his first. him passing on open shots or not making a positive basketball play hurt an already pretty stagnant offense. The Tulsa game was encouraging...I gave a big yell when he hit that little rock-back pull up three. if the team were winning these games, this wouldn't even be a discussion. Walker has a better line than senior year JJ Murray while offering similar intangibles (not as great an on-ball defender, but a far better ball-handler and rebounder) and no one was saying "man, I wish JJ would take some of the shots that TP and Drez are taking"
  2. he has 40 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals in our last five games...all while usually guarding a top scorer as well as being pressed into being a secondary ball handler. and I don't know about you, but I say he works hard, too
  3. let's not lump Walker in with this group.
  4. man...what happened to that walk-through entrance in the rendering at around the 1:00 mark in the video? that's a great design.
  5. I don't know if Virginia and their one title even belong in that second-tier conversation. I mean, Okie State, San Francisco and even Cincinnati have more. UVA is just sitting there with Holy Cross, Wyoming and the City College of New York. hardly elite company.
  6. paternity tests at Hoops & Hops. I might fly in for that.
  7. I'm sure someone will fill the void of profiting by pandering to your "patriotism"
  8. so just to summarize, Stone works hard while the rest of the roster is only here because of their natural athleticism and genetically-inherited quick-twitch muscles. wanna make sure my bingo card is accurately filled in
  9. how to say "i'm wrong, but i'm proud" on a message board.
  10. there's lots of dumb fake enthusiasm on both sides.
  11. only 8 fouls called in the first half. anyone else bracing for the refs to really try to shine in the second half?
  12. is Jalen Smith the one who missed the last shot in Denton? seems he remembers
  13. tears in groins and hammies are usually a month-minimum. anywhere.
  14. bingo. Moore seems so comfortable on the ball, but I don't think we can get away with him and Edwards on the floor at the same time, so scoring is a huge issue
  15. see...now this is the thread @rojomojo should be weighing in on. Dallas's public transportation infrastructure and urban planning is clearly lacking.
  16. Agreed. You can’t do anything with a hammy or groin injury except be patient.
  17. maybe not...but given the slide we were on, it's still a much needed win. Memphis had lost 3 straight...and then went on to lose to Rice (and barely beat WSU). a bounce-back win at least tells us the bottom isn't completely falling out.
  18. overall observations... - figured Scott would have a bounce back and he was great - I hate that we only get one year of Robert Allen - I love Rondel Walker's stat lines...like every game. does anyone know a site that gives +/- for the college game? - I love that Buggs got off 7 shots. - Hodge definitely has a firm grip on the hand-break, but glad to see Moore getting some bullpen minutes and yes...fair play to Stone. I think someone must've finally showed him tape of all the looks he immediately deferred on and said these have to go up. the first as a lil off the bounce rock back, too...that was damn pretty. if he's gonna play he can't be a passenger...tonight is all I ask of him
  19. Houston area kid...maybe Rubin is in his ear...lefty-to-lefty
  20. I think they listed him at 6'6", 6'7"...but he was Barkely-esque
  21. he was like 6'5"...he played the 4 next to Odufuwa. these are the 5s in my time: Abou Ousmane Zach Simmons Jeremy Combs (I guess, kinda...) George Odufuwa Keith Wooden Jeffery Simpson Shawnson Johnson
  22. damn...Haggerty gets buckets.
  23. Robert Allen is the most skilled 5 we've had since Keith Wooden (Tony Mitchell wasn't a 5). fight me.
