  1. No, while he is here his primary coach is Coach Cobbs. Coach Cobbs has the first and last word on how this young man fits into the system. If this young man doesn't like the decisions that Coach Cobbs is making, he had better jump somewhere else and do it quick. Because this team doesn't need someone who can cause trouble in the locker room. And long ago, Coach Cobbs has earned the right to be treated with the utmost respect. So I certainly hope that Coach Cobbs has been signing off on the process from the very beginning.
  2. Just reading the stuff that was officially reported my first reaction was/is "is this young man bipolar?".
  3. ...except for the ones who bitch about their wrinkled $100 bill.
  4. That describes most of our seasons. Even going back to when we had record setting QB's playing for us. BTW, in all these discussions about freshman QB's starting or not starting, why are we ignoring the fact that Mason Fine eventually started his freshman year here.
  5. Primarily, yes I'm aware of that. But he was an excellent RB who got caught up in big numbers and moved on to A&M as a result. But he is a RB and he is a football player, and Coach Cobbs knows him well. And thought enough of him to give him reps, and FWIW he looked very good to me. I don't think I ever saw him loose yardage on a run. It may be a moot point. He might be happy just being an Aggie. And to me, that's too bad. So roll your eyes all you want, and post puking Eagles. But if no one does the same thing in response to the notion that Earl might come back, then Mr. Landis deserves the same treatment.
  6. You know, we have one RW Heath RB. How about bringing back another? Preston Landis - Football - Texas A&M Athletics - 12thMan.com
  7. Overall that's pretty good advice. If anyone is under the delusional notion that any significant portion of the NT fan base (such as it is) is knowledgeable enough about any of our sports rosters to notice when anyone leaves and comes back, let me assure you that you needn't worry. THERE, now you don't have to go to a therapist...........no extra charge.
  8. North Texas has been in our official name since 1894 when we became a state college.
  9. So here we go. Coach Leftwich, show us what you got!
  10. Jackson and Johnson.....oh my! Farrar. That's what I've been wondering. I believe he participated in the spring game.
  11. Just as long as this young man was on Coach Cobbs wish list. BTW does anyone know the health status of our current RB's? Specifically, Farrar, Jackson and Johnson.
  12. Lest anyone has forgotten, Cutter is the offspring of this guy..... Spencer Leftwich - Football Coach - UTEP Miners "He was also the O-Line coach at New Mexico State (1992-93) before enjoying two separate stints at both North Texas and Tulsa from 1994-2010. Leftwich was the offensive line coach for the Mean Green from 1994-2002 and 2007-09. In his first term at UNT, he had at least one lineman earn all-conference recognition in eight of nine years. In 2007, North Texas established school records for total offense and passing offense. In 2009, North Texas had the no. 28 rushing attack in the NCAA with 185.3 yards per game while bettering the school standard for total yards (4,904). The Mean Green also ended the campaign ranked no. 10 in sacks allowed with one per outing" Potentially, Morris has scored a big win with this hire.
  13. I would prefer the NT-Star. Also, when they do a hat with the flag, I would prefer that it be waving like the Texas Rangers flag.
  14. Who can argue with such a cute little girl? Both it is!
  15. As I was watching the Army/Navy game yesterday, I wondered about how the NIL is effecting them.....if at all.?
  16. Welp, so much for my assessment process. Looks like NIL is bringing out the "it's all about (or mostly about) me" in players. You know, I wonder how, in the long run, this is going to affect a QB's relationship with the guys (especially the marginal NIL ones) that are supposed to protect them. Why should they bust their asses to get better and protect a player that will leave for better pay and screw loyalty. Someone mentioned in another thread that Morris needs a little time to get players in that will buy into the culture that he is establishing. Welp, Rogers would be his first "oops" on that one. Sadly culture is going to take on a completely different meaning hence forward.
  17. I think this was his first injury-free season.
  18. Hmmm........SURELY North Texas wouldn't get itself into such a situation.....😎
  19. Did Sampson ever make it into a game?
  20. Yep, we need to find the Landon Sides of DL's. LB's and OL's.
  21. Which was what Shorter was always doing when he was here. I'm wondering if his lack of playing time at Auburn has to do with some sort of injury.
  22. And what about the MGSF?
  23. I was really pulling for NM. They have a great story going on out there. PLUS they are not being fueled by soulless rich people ($MU) or bat shit crazy religious zealots (Liberty).
  24. "Coach speak" is prepared answers to anticipated questions. I am assuming that his comments were what the police call "excited utterances.", which are considered the most credible, and are exceptions to the "hear say" rule.
  25. Claiming words. That's a good start.
