  1. I just purchased two of these Jerseys this morning. They are VERY NICE. The store manager advised me that they had another order of jerseys coming in at the end of this week. READ CAREFULLY. The order coming in is a large order of VARIOUS JERSEYS, some of which will be the Joe Greene jerseys. So I don't know how many they will actually have when the order comes in. The smallest size is 2X and the largest size is 5X. The jerseys run a little bit small. I bought a 3X and it fits me like a 2X. They had five left on the rack this morning. The name of the store is SEL Sportswear. Their phone # is (214) 366-9377. Their fax # is (214) 366-9370.
  2. Yeah, that's what I said about our game with Texas.........before they gave the ball to Benson on the first play.
  3. Well, variations in shades or not, any time there is a televised game at Memorial stadium, the crowd shots are ALWAYS a SEA OF ORANGE.......burnt or otherwise. The same goes for crowd shots at OU games. Just once, I'd like to see a crowd shot at a North Texas game and KNOW that CLEARLY (because of a sea of green) it's a North Texas game. Usually our crowd shots are, at best, a mixed bag........that could have (to the casual observer) been taken at a concert or something.
  4. You know Jack, I think North Texas should pay you to do the athletic history of the school. I'm concerned that the historical information for this school will end up being mostly lost.
  5. Jack, you just gave a great discription of any gathering of North Texas students/Alumni. It's very similar to my "wrinkled $100 bill" analogy. BTW, I'm glad you mentioned what position he (Shepard) played, because the article didn't give me a clue. Also, I don't find his name in any of the North Texas records during that era. If he was a punter in the CFL, he didn't appear in the North Texas record books in that catagory. The leading punters for NT from 51 to 55 were, Bill Brasher (51), Don Baker (52 thru 55). The rushing leaders from 51 thru 55 were Ray Renfro (51), Tommy Gray (52), Dean Renfro (53 & 54) and Tommy Runnels (55). BTW, is John Baker our punter from 97 thru 99 any relation to Don Baker?
  6. You know, in all of this chest-beating about Patrick and Jamario, we seem to be forgetting that we are about 3-deep at RB. That "score from anywhere on the field" description also applies to Kevin Moore (#30 on your program), who put us in some great field positions last fall with his timely (and long) kick-off returns. Give Kevin a crease and that guy will be gone. We also seem to forget that when Jamario and Kevin were not able to play in the ArkSt game, we inserted our FB James Mitchell into the RB spot and he responded with 166 yards......in LESS than ideal playing conditions. ANY Sunbelt school would be glad to have the services of either one of those guys.
  7. I have a large plastic storage box full of game programs from the 80's and some from the 90's. In some of them I have inserted the game story from the Star-Telegram or the DRC. I gave the 1988 Texas program (along with the game stories from the Austin American Statesman and Star-Telegram) to FFR. If anyone is interested, I'll bring the box to games this fall for anyone who wants to look for a programs from their favorite 80's game. I also have two promotional hand held fans from the 88 season with the schedule printed on the back and the Eagle head-thru-the-hoop on the front.
  8. Here is a link to the state parks on the lake. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/rayrob/ I just love the name of one of the sites........Isle du Bois
  9. Phillips Haymakers? That must be a college somewhere. I thought that Phillips Tx (named for the Phillips petroleum company), was the Black Hawks.
  10. Fort Worth, on the north side of Saginaw. It usually takes me about 30 to 35 min to drive to Fouts. I usually stop at the Albertsons down the street to get gas, as well as ice and bottled water for the tailgating. And all the time I'm wearing my North Texas gear.
  11. I remember being absolutely astounded when I was talking to our ticket manager the last year that we played Nebraska. He said that they were doing a brisk season ticket business with Nebraska fans. When I seemed surprised, he said that they call to buy tickets from our allotment, and in order to do that, they had to be season ticket holders. He said that they didn't bat an eye about buying North Texas season tickets just so that they could buy tickets to the Nebraska game.
  12. Compared to other Universities such as......oh........COLORADO, this is pretty small time stuff.
  13. It doesn't move fast enough..........
  14. Yeah, it sounds like a lot of fun.......if only I had any earthly idea what you just said.
  15. Well, here's a thought. Why not tell Coach Fry that if he can line up the doners for the stadium, (and if the doners are in agreement) the stadium could be named after him. Or at the very least, his name could be part of the stadium's name.
  16. We had 22 pass attempts per game?
  17. I still wish that KNTU could have a post game show for this football season.
  18. To help make your point, I was in NE Mall last week and went by a hat vendor. The only hats that he had were forest green hats with DAFFY EAGLE on them. They purchased the hats from "Top of the World" hat company.
  19. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nati...ebkillen23.html I bet that Six Flags will be real glad when this Edgar Ray Killens trial is no longer in the newspapers.
  20. It's really not all that complicated SUMG. People want to go to those "other" schools because it gives them a sense of "belonging" and "empowerment". Once your accepted at those schools, "bingo" your in the "gang" and your part of something very big, well respected,.....and powerful. If your self-esteem is not very good, then your self-esteem gets an instant boost. Going to North Texas and declaring yourself a devoted fan of the school involves more of an emotional risk. You have to really like yourself, and you have to really have confidence in your own decisions.
  21. ....and Dr. Matthews is probably spinning in his grave right now.
  22. 61, I just may start using that picture as my avitar.
  23. Very good Stan. I don't mind at all being compared to someone else who forcefully stood up and encouraged another "milque toast" group to get out there and fight for their convictions.......and also caught hell for doing it. <_<
