Christ, what mess....and not exactly accurate. After the coach in question turned around and started to angrily shout, he pulled away from the other coaches who were trying to calm him down. He then had to, not walk, but charge up at least 15 rows, and then push past Paul Clarke and family (including his young son) to arrive in front of me. After he demanded that I repeat my comment to his face, I did so....to his face. He then either removed himself, or was pulled away. Paul Clarke and family were in the row in front of me. I should have known better than to talk to a reporter. Especially one that doesn't want the coaching staff to get mad at him.

With all due respect, you don't seem to understand that North Texas football games are for the "fans" and "alumni" of the school....not CSC....or any other "hired staff" for that matter. If tortilla throwing helps get the fans fired up, then it's a small price to pay. I can't speak for you, but I don't show up to games and worry about what CSC thinks. I've spent too many years sitting on the almuni side and being around people who think that polite "tennis applause" is the most appropriate display of outward emotion. We are developing a rowdy group of fans on the alumni side (as opposed to the "sitting-upright-but-dead-group that we used to have), and I for one am NOT in favor of ever going back to what we had before. BTW, IMHO, CSC is a waste of athletic dept money.

At the last tailgating event, the greenbackers ran out of ice. So, please bring at least one or two bags with you when you come to participate.

I not sure why it bothers you that people seem to trust FFR's opinions/assessments. Most of the time he's "right on", but not always. It's kind of like people in the sports reporting business. Would it be better if we waited for your sage insights/assessments before we have a discussion about the game?

Well, we all thank you for your kind and generous offer. However, instead of going to the LSU game, I'm going to have my wife beat me with barbed wire. It would be over with much faster, and wouldn't cost me as much.......

Without picking anyone's particular quote out to use, I will offer this. I believe that our fan base has grown MAINLY because of "gomeangreen.com" and the activities of the greenbackers and other similar groups of spirited fans. The gameday experience is what keeps bringing people back. Not our notoriety( ) as "king of the dip$hits" aka the sunbelt. So, it's my belief that our fan base has grown "in spite" of DD, not because of him.

While I find your example very disturbing, I still think that "SilverEagle pulled a dumbass stunt! Who's in charge of monitoring his alcohol intake?" would be an acceptable response to that very scary scenario.

...sigh...from a logical point of view, that may be true. However, please review the dictionary definition of "fanatic", of which "fan" is derived. For DECADES we have long bemoaned the lack of "fans" at North Texas. When we finally start getting some, and they start expressing their expectations, they are called "out of their minds".......well duhhhh..

So, I can't say that a player who pulled his helmet off and drew a 15yrd penalty at a very inopportune time (and because of his experience in college football, should have known better) pulled a dumbass stunt? If that is so, then I have to say that I would find that very unfullfilling.

.......and some 3rd string QB's who had the talent all along, (but the coach missed it). sometimes finally get their chance.

I would like to ask him that old manager's/interviewer's question. "So, where do you see yourself and the program in the next five years". I would also like to ask him what he thought of this quote "Someone has to be #1 in the Nation,...it might as well be us". I would also like to know if he thought that that quote might ever apply to North Texas.

Well, one should at least have the "appearance" that you're not "drinking to forget"........ Of course, if I was really trying to "drink to forget", I could drag out my old college recipe called "Green Goddammits" with a name revision to "Mean Green Goddammits" for our current situation. 2 liters of 7-up (or Sprite) 1 12oz (or 16oz) bottle of reconstituted lemon juice 1 12oz (or 16oz) bottle of reconstituted lime juice 1 quart of Everclear. I believe that this would go a long way to relieve our collective anxiety about how the team is being coached, and/or how the team is playing. Of course, it could also go a long way toward relieving us of many of our brain cells.....

What I want to know is how many "technical difficulties" the show will have.

I don't endorse most of the comments on the other thread. But I will say that their (the players) time would be better spent studying, or getting their bumps and bruises attended to. This doesn't help much, but the comments would be much more cruel on the OU or UT or even the Baylor board. I don't know what's worse, the personal comments or the "apathy" that we are so well know for.

I notice that there are currently 35 "guests" on the board. Some of those have to be athletic dept people. WELCOME GUYS! Lurk early, and Lurk often!!
