  1. Wow, you sure know how to sugar coat it.
  2. That is the face of the original Scrappy (circa 50's/60's). I'll post the rest of him soon. I chose him because his expression clearly says I DIDN'T COME HERE TO LOSE!
  3. I thought that Cox showed some pretty good moves at the beginning of spring. He then proceeded to spend the rest of the spring trying to prove that he could run over people. His favorite target for this seemed to be Mr. Cotton #24. I would describe Evan Robertson's speed as "outstanding". IMHO, Kerona Henderson needs some running plays. And I don't mean the first game or so of the season, and then nothing thereafter. I think that Josh Maldonado could contribute on kick-offs.
  4. "Adding another wide receiver to the lineup could be an intriguing option." It will be an intriguing option if only to see if the current coaching staff can demonstrate some originality and flexibility in their coaching style.
  5. Actually (IMHO) we had plenty of answers for him (our swarming defense). We just didn't anticipate that the Texas QB was so "mobile" and would make some big plays with his feet. To me, (other than the referee's gifts) the big plays that their QB made in the second half was the difference.
  6. Some of my thoughts. One of the best games, preparation wise, that I've ever seen North Texas play. North Texas was outweighed by Texas, but there was not ONE player on that North Texas team that was the least bit intimidated by the Texas team. Every North Texas player that stepped out on that field was both eager and ready to knock the crap out of anyone wearing orange....and they often did. That night, they were truely the MEAN GREEN. Clearly, every North Texas player and coach was wearing their "I DIDN'T COME HERE TO LOSE" t-shirt under their uniforms. This game should be shown to every North Texas team at the beginning of fall practice to illustrate the intensity with which they should play each game.
  7. Well, as the old saying goes. You can want in one hand..............you know the rest. When has Coach Dickey EVER come out "breathing fire" with ANY of his game plans?
  8. I know that he used to be an assistant with us. But at what point during our past coaching changes would he have been a candidate for Head Coach? AND did someone, at some time, advise the decision makers to hire him? More to the point, did Kragthorpe ever apply for a head coaching job here?
  9. Scott Davis was under valued by the press (outside of North Texas), but at 6'2" X 195, he wasn't undersized. Some my favorite undersized QB's at North Texas 1. Greg Carter....probably about 5'9"....5'10" at the most, 1275 yards passing his senior year. 2. Joe Stevenson...6' but a very skinny 160lbs. He still had 1671 yards total offense the one year that he started. 3. Jordan Case....barely 6', but had a great arm (60%+passing in 78) and was a great leader. 4. Ken Washington 5' 11" X 170 (at the most). Big play guy.
  10. When you burn some copies, I'll purchase one from you. Thanks
  11. Yeah Eric, next time.....bring a compass.
  12. Just how many renegade players have transferred to the Sunbelt in the last few years? Just another cheap shot by a lazy reporter.
  13. Well, just like any lofty goal, you have to visualize it first.
  14. IMHO it ain't over yet. I can't imagine Bomar getting dismissed from the team, getting publically lectured by the coach, and taking it all laying down. If he accepts full responsibility for this, I'll be real surprised. Get ready for "Hey! the coaching staff knew all about this! from Bomar.
  15. Ok, I thought that I answered that in my previous post. Because it raises the butt's-in-the-seats numbers for our University........ Every butt counts!* Ok, extra points to you for using the word convoluted, .......and spelling it correctly. Especially if you had been drinking at the time. *Has a new football marketing slogan been born?
  16. Received mine. Many thanks. Are you saying that you have the TT and Rice games also?
  17. I'm wondering then why you go to Fouts to hang out, and drink beer in the first place. If you have no intention of going to the game (thereby providing the University with some much needed butts-in-the-seats numbers) then invite some friends (possibly some of the other people who have no intention of going into the game) over to to your house and cook out and drink beer in your back yard.

  19. They also forgot Carl (Spider) Lockhart, who was an all-pro player with the Giants.
  20. It used to be the Texas Pick-Up, but now it's the Road House.
  21. Ok, from the old days. "Some Like it Hot" (won one oscar (costume design) nominated for four others) "The Odd Couple" (nominated for two oscars (film editing and writing) "The Producers".....the original with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. "His Girl Friday" Modern times "The Big Lebowski" "Oh Brother where art thou" "Young Frankenstein"....well, sort of modern times.
  22. That one saved you.
  23. * It was the Arkansas game.
  24. Absolulety correct about Franklin. Washington would be pleasant and diplomatic, but I wouldn't find his conversation very interesting. Between him, T. Roosevelt and Patton, you would have probably the three biggest egos in American history. I would rather hear Franklin or Lee talk, but I doubt that either of them would get a chance with T.Roosevelt and Patton running their mouths all the time......about themselves mostly.
  25. ...... what's the body count so far on your brain cells. My everyday favorites Sam Adams Light Sam Adams Cherry Wheat free and cold My absolute favorite Roswell Alien Amber Ale......"A taste beyond". Sierra Blanca Brewing company, Nut Brown Ale
