  1. I'm wondering then why you go to Fouts to hang out, and drink beer in the first place. If you have no intention of going to the game (thereby providing the University with some much needed butts-in-the-seats numbers) then invite some friends (possibly some of the other people who have no intention of going into the game) over to to your house and cook out and drink beer in your back yard.

  3. They also forgot Carl (Spider) Lockhart, who was an all-pro player with the Giants.
  4. It used to be the Texas Pick-Up, but now it's the Road House.
  5. Ok, from the old days. "Some Like it Hot" (won one oscar (costume design) nominated for four others) "The Odd Couple" (nominated for two oscars (film editing and writing) "The Producers".....the original with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. "His Girl Friday" Modern times "The Big Lebowski" "Oh Brother where art thou" "Young Frankenstein"....well, sort of modern times.
  6. That one saved you.
  7. * It was the Arkansas game.
  8. Absolulety correct about Franklin. Washington would be pleasant and diplomatic, but I wouldn't find his conversation very interesting. Between him, T. Roosevelt and Patton, you would have probably the three biggest egos in American history. I would rather hear Franklin or Lee talk, but I doubt that either of them would get a chance with T.Roosevelt and Patton running their mouths all the time......about themselves mostly.
  9. ...... what's the body count so far on your brain cells. My everyday favorites Sam Adams Light Sam Adams Cherry Wheat free and cold My absolute favorite Roswell Alien Amber Ale......"A taste beyond". Sierra Blanca Brewing company, Nut Brown Ale
  10. If it means that much to you to have her attend games, then call the number on the football 101 invitation and ask if husbands are allowed to attend. Don't expect miracles however. There are many women who attend games who don't have any idea about the strategy of the game. They go for reasons other than to appreciate the strategy and/or techniques of the game. Of course, since this is Dickey-ball, how much strategy/technique could there possibly be?...........
  11. I'd rather have Texas State in the SBC.
  12. Yeah, the only QB's that I see on the roster are, Meager, Wilson, Phillips, Prince, and Ieans. I also looked but couldn't see that the jersey #14 had been re-assigned to another player.
  13. Uh, you mean they're finally talking like Hayden Fry? I've been saying the same thing, GG has been saying the same thing, and FFR has been saying the same thing.......... for years. FINALLY! they've started listening to us. I'm still wearing my "I DIDN'T COME HERE TO LOSE" t-shirt this fall. Just in case they start that "we're just happy to be here" back-sliding dialogue.
  14. Diatribe? It started out as a general shot/needle at the overly-rich....both VY and UT....mainly UT. I didn't go on and on about it.....you did. "It isnt fawning. Its admiration for someone who is the best at what they do. Much like Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, Michael Jordan, blah blah blah." You mean people who are waaaaaay overpaid for what they do? I do agree with one thing however.....blah blah blah. Typical Dallas attitude. Fort Worth. It's in my profile, but I suppose that it's much easier to "assume" than to read. BTW, are there any non-crappy parts of Dallas?.....
  15. * There's a non-crappy part of Houston? ** This is more about the great publicity that UT is getting (as if they need anymore) as a result of this big contract being signed, than a slam at Vince Young. Again, Texas doesn't really need this great "pub". But now that VY has signed this huge contract the implication in all of their recruiting from now on can be "see how successful our athletes become? See what coming to Texas can do for you? And since you brought it up. There are countless numbers of young men (and older men for that matter) who were in the same situation (or worse) as VY, who didn't have a great gift that over-paid them huge amounts of money, and they still turned out to be very productive people. And they did it without any expectation that they would get any publicity and/or their pictures in the paper. Now, it's you who can get over your fawning over VY. He really doesn't need your support.
  16. He quit being "poor" the minute he stepped on the UT campus....and put on his football uniform. Not only is he now "richer", but so is UT from the great publicity, about their great athlete.
  17. http://www.woai.com/news/local/story.aspx?...2F-65FB43A1880F When KRLD reported on the event, they called it "Boobs and Tubes". Sounds like a great fund raising idea for the athletic department.
  18. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews...rs/15143297.htm "Young, the No. 3 overall pick out of Texas, agreed to a five-year deal, with an option for a sixth, with $25.7 million guaranteed and an overall value that could reach $58 million with option and roster bonuses and salary." geezzz
  19. I'd be more in favor of Women's Roller Derby team. I fell in love with a Roller Derby Queen Round and round, oh round and round The meanest hunk o' woman that anybody ever seen Down in the arena She was five foot six and two fifteen A bleached-blonde mama with a streak of mean She knew how to knuckle and she knew how to scuffle and fight And the roller derby program said That she was built like a 'frigerator with a head Her fans call her "Tuffy" but all her buddies called her "Spike"* Talk about earning the nickname "Mean Green". *Roller Derby Queen, by Jim Croce
  20. Don't we already have women's softball?
  21. I've tasted several "lights" and, so far, I've not found a better one. I recently purchased some of their "Cherry Wheat" ale.....mmmmmmmm I don't know if they would allow you to bring your own beer. I tend to doubt that they will serve any. Someone needs to ask when they RSVP.
  22. Yes, I'll take some. Thanks for asking. Samuel Adams light will do nicely.....
  23. Losing 85 lbs since Feb. doesn't sound right to me either. And 6'2" isn't all that tall for a DE either. I'm with Zeke. I call BS on this story.....as it's printed here.
  24. If you're going to sell them retail at a store, or even at a road-side stand, or on a web-site, then you definitely have to deal with (God help us) CLC. But making something for someone (or having it made) for just the cost of the materials is somewhat different. If licensing was an issue for everything, then DallasGreen would have had to run his NT/SMU t-shirts by CLC.
  25. .....when the whining can really begin!........
