  1. and motivate the players and motivate the fans and motivate the alumni who actually have some money to donate.
  2. The "stuff" I was talking about was the socializing that George mentioned that went on between him and the Dickey family. That is what compromises his professional opinion.
  3. A bold statement considering that North Texas students/alumni pretty much invented crazy.
  4. And now they're beating up on us. We used to be King of the Dip$hit$....now we're not even that.
  5. When you do stuff like that it compromises your status as a professional. When that happens, people quit listening to you, and respecting your opinion. We need all the respect in the sports community that we can get.
  6. Bruce Chambers. Good grief, I didn't know he's been out there coaching. He was one of Jordan Case's favorite targets in 78 and 79. Here is the summary of him that was printed in the 78 North Texas football guide. BRUCE CHAMBERS, 5'-8", 142, junior wide receiver., Dallas (Carter, Coach Jack Keck). Bruce Edward Chambers, born 12-2-57 in Ennis TX, Industrial Management Major. Started eight games at split end last season (77) while sharing game time with Charlie Murry. Moved in sping to No. 1 flanker. Caught 16 passes for 199 yards, a 12.4 average per catch. Led team in kickoff returns with 9 for 148 yards. Also had 4 punt returns for 32 yards. Lettered in 76 as a freshman and caught four passes. Primarily a defensive back in high school (so was the late and great Bernard Jackson). Won district and metro honors and was defensive player of the year in Dist. 12-4-A. Cleared 23 feet in the long jump. (coach Fry's comment/assessment) "Excellent speed and jumping ability. Potential game breaker". This guy was recruited by Fry and played three years under him. He personally saw how Coach Fry turned things around at North Texas. He qualifies under one of my major criteria for a HC at North Texas. KNOWING WHAT HE'S GETTING HIMSELF INTO. Does anyone know what kind of public speaker/motivator Coach Chambers is? here is the link to his bio on the Texas site. http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.com/ind...hange_well_id=2
  7. brutal.....but efficient.......
  8. ...as if it took rocket science to figure out DD's offense and then shut it down. They recruited better athletes than us, and then used them effectively. I'm more impressed with DeLoach than the defensive coaches at So. Miss.
  9. You know, all along I've not wanted DD to be fired. I've wanted him to do the right thing for himself and his family, and resign and move on. Failing that, my choice would have been for RV and Dr. B, to have met with Coach Dickey and explain that he can either resign or be fired. Resigning would have been a much better situation.....unless his contract calls for more compensation if he's fired. I just want this to be behind us as soon as possible, and it's extremely hard to do that when you have a fired coach who is still walking the sidelines for the remainder of the season. Overall this makes the University Administrators look......less than competent.
  10. You're a North Texas graduate and you've never seen, or have been exposed to, something weird?
  11. Committe's have given us.. Dennis Parker a name change for our mascot (from Scrappy to the effeminate Eppy...thank you Stebo and co. for rectifying that situation) Crony-like decisions have given us Darryll Dickey.....and Mandy McKinley. Let's have this hiring process open and competitive. No So. Miss. cronies!
  12. A long time ago, I heard that George Dunham was responsible and/or involved in Bill Mercer being fired as play by play man for North Texas. If there is any part of that rumor that is true (and I don't mean being a better broadcaster either....because George isn't/wasn't), then I agree that George can get fired as well.
  13. "I am extremely disappointed," senior wide receiver Johnny Quinn said. "Coach has always been there for me and believed in me" .. really? Is that why K-Mart had to lobby for you to get a ship at North Texas? . ... He has better things he can move on to." ...that's been the case since he arrived here. Why didn't he moved on to "better things" a long time ago. Or better still, why hasn't someone come along and hired him away from us?
  14. You have got to have better blocking before even the best QB in the country can be effective. We have probably the two fastest QB's in North Texas history in DM and WW. WW's speed took SMU by surprise, but not Tulsa and the rest of our opponents. As a result WW has spent all of his playing time trying to run for his life. DM has done pretty much the same thing. We have to have better blocking, and a better offensive plan, before our QB's can be more effective. We have to have coaches (and coaching) that players will respond to.....and that players respect.
  15. It speaks volumes about how some coaches can motivate, and some can't.
  16. Yes, he's on the program as well. But I haven't seen him on the sideline any time this season.
  17. Sports wise, what is your first loyalty? To North Texas, or Virginia?
  18. This reminds me of something. What has become of our great DL prospect Esteban Santiago? I've looked for him on the sidelines a couple of games now, and haven't seen him in uniform. If he's hurt, I haven't seen anyone dressed in jeans with a #77 jersey on.
  19. I went crazy when they actually threw a slant pattern. I didn't think they had one in the playbook.
  20. It's my understanding that Andy Brewster and Dickey worked with this group. The "green team" ran the usual "DD" stuff (run left, run right, run up the middle.....throw a play-action pass) but the intensity and fire of the group was the big difference. I don't feel that I will be contradicted when I attribute ALL of the aforementioned "fire" and "intensity" to Coach Brewster. Not only did the green OL block with more intensity, but all of the RB's ran with reckless abandon. I don't think that I saw the green teams RB's lose yardage once. And when James Mitchell got into the game in the second half at RB, it was just thrilling. That guy literally launched himself through the line. My proposal is for Jamario to sit on the bench this next game and rotate James Mitchell, Evan Robertson and Devin Cox at RB. Keep Kerona Henderson at FB, but rotate Ronnie Hull into that position. I also recommend that selected O-lineman sit on the bench as well. Coach Brewster should select which ones sit and which ones start. Oh yeah, leave RF and Coach Ethridge at Denton and let them listen to the game on the Radio.
  21. "Dickey et al?" Man, you can sure tell that you live with a Lawyer. "at least do it for the players like Johnny Quinn who have worked so hard to represent our University." .....and James Mitchell, Zac Muzzy,Phillip Graves, Ronnie Hull, Shawn Early, Sky Pruitt, Dylan Lineberry, Joel Foster,Beau Davidson, and Robert Harmon.
  22. Through the years, North Texas has had MANY of it's alumni go on to law school and become successful Lawyers. Mike Simpson (former NT SGA President) now practicing in Bridgeport is one example. It has always been tradition that your first loyalty is supposed to be to the school where you received your BS (or BA) degree. That being the case, we should have been getting those "big donations" from lawyers for decades.
  23. This hasn't been kept secret from DD. He's known how the team has felt about RF for quite some time. He's made the decision to keep RF around for several years, and so DD can take a big chunk of the responsibility for this horrendous situation.
  24. I believe Drake and Carlson are part of the group.
  25. I'll second that vote. And I'll also vote for the Green Team's OL to block for him.
